As Bogart Wealth’s Chief Investment Officer, Aleksandr leads the firm’s investment policy committee and oversees its investment strategies to include portfolio research, construction, management, and trading functions. He has 15+ years of financial markets experience and holds a Charter Financial Analyst (CFA) designation and bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a Finance concentration from Roanoke College.
Prior to joining Bogart Wealth, Aleksandr worked on the institutional side of the industry managing indexed-based mutual funds and exchange traded funds (ETFs) at ProShares Advisors, LLC. During this time, he was responsible for various investment strategies, spanning across equity, bond, and alternative asset classes. He operated funds carrying assets under management as high as $5.1 billion and traded both underlying cash securities and derivative instruments. He was also involved with ETF product development and counterparty credit risk management initiatives.
Aleksandr is originally from Cape Verde, West Africa. He was raised in an American diplomatic family which created a deep passion for traveling and exploring the various cultures and foods throughout the world. In his free time, he enjoys trying new restaurants with his wife and coaching his daughters’ soccer and lacrosse teams.
