That tone is absolute fire. I love Wilkinson pickups. I had a set in a Mexican Strat. Might have to dig those back out and throw them in a project Strat
Great tone, great playing !!! I could hear a lot of SRV and Gary Moore in your playing. I love 'em both ! I'll check out more of your videos. This is the first of yours to me!
I recently acquired a Korean made squire with these same pickups and a David Gilmour mod switch and I'm absolutely in love with the sound of it. the neck is incredible as well.
Sounds great on the standard affinity Squier the stock pickups sounds weak and with distortion a little bit crap distortion I'm waiting for my new Wilkinson prewired set and tremolo too the stock parts sucks , So I hope sounds like you .
Hola compañero, cuál es el recorrido total del puente con el cuerpo de la guitarra perforado? Me gustaría modificar mi guitarra y me gustaría saber cómo te resultó
Hola, en realidad esto es un ensayo para otro trémolo. Para tener más recorrido, debes quitar material donde se bloquea el diapasón (adentro), y no en la parte superior de la guitarra (¡traducción automática!).
I am thinking of buying a Fazley Startcaster where Stok pups are the same and it comes with Wilkinson tremolo and tuning pegs new 102 British pounds at Bax music... It must be a pretty good deal after your sound demo
@@philzic thanks a lot, unfortunately there are only 2 demos on this guitar on CZcams but those guys are more beginner than the level of this instrument....
usually 3 springs on this guitar, 2 only on others. You can adjust the bridge with the numbers of springs (depends on the gauge of strings) or by unscrewing the strings holder. At each modification, retune the guitar and repeat until it's ok for you.
After having seen all great reviews I purchased a pre wired pickup guard with these pickups on my 70's Japanese Stat copy and they don't sound good at all using distorsion. It's best described as a good sound with a disturbance on top of it like a bad wiring or something. Or like a string buzzing into the fretboard. Problem is that it's everywhere all over the fretboard and on all strings. It's like a dirty unclean signal and I'm not talking about the distorsion. My other guitars all sounds great but this sound like crap. Anyone have any good lead to what might be going on?
Hi, if you have this problem with any pickup, (also with a clean tone ?) it may be a wiring problem : check all leads to ground, in particular for the trem and jack input. It may be useful to check the potentiometers (250 K ?) and the cap (47 mf ?).
@@philzic Hi; They sound fine with a clean tone. But with distorsion that sounds great on all other guitars on my marshall I get this crappy sound like a $75 guitar. I covered all cavitys inside with copper insulation and the ground is very carefully soldered. I think I will go back to the stock pickguard and electronics just replacing a pickup with one of these new ones. Then I just listen to a new pickup everything else being unchanged. How abut that strategy?
Yes, that's a good idea. In fact the problem may come from the wiring of the pickguard (for exmaple, a lead may be broken inside its core), not the pickups.
It says 'Fender' on the headstock... it's the only thing out-of-place on this otherwise excellent video. Fender have, in the past, allowed such gaping chasms between the neck-heel and pocket, but not these days. What is that guitar REALLY? - dont get me wrong - great sounding strat, whatever it is!
Hi, thanks for the comment ! Actually it's a partcaster (body : Gear 4 Music, supposed to be mahogany, neck : maple (from china), of course not corrresponding exactly to the neck pocket...) with a Fender logo. The gap on the vibrato pocket is due to my initial error of positionning of the vibrato...
@@philzic I like everything but the Fender logo! But - your house, your rules kinda thing, up to you what you do. You made it sound as good as any Fender, in every way. Keep at it brother - you got the grit!

What a cool video to come across on a Saturday morning. Thanks.

Your guitar seems glass. Very shiner!
Buying set of 3 single-coil low gauss wilkinson pickups with 250k pots, and heavy gauge ernie ball strings. Cant wait til I get paid 😎
Awesome playing as always, Phil. Truly inspiring.
Please keep uploading, brother. 👏👏
Beautiful guitar matches with ur beautiful playing
Thanks for this nice comment ! Regards.
Love these pickups!! I put Korean version in my Vintage V6 strat.
Good demo! I have the same ceramic wilkinson pickups, do you use 250k or 500k for the pots?
Best bang for the buck pickups anywhere.
What is that strat? I love the color with the tinted gloss neck. And that tone is like butter. Sounds great.

Nice.

Hello, what kind of amp are you running through for this demo ?
Hello, I've used an Atomic Amplifire 6 for direct recording (no amp), amp model is "Rumble" (for Dumble) clean and crunch.
What guitar NECK is this ???? It looks so nice, but I can't tell from the video ....
If I remember well, this neck was bought on Ali Express.
Where can I buy these pickups?
Great playing!
Thanks ! I bought them on Ebay.
