  • The efficiency and stability of a foil kite can not only add more power to your light wind sessions, giving you more opportunity to ride, but with a little understanding of the techniques involved to be safe, they also allow you to become more self-sufficient.
In this video we'll show you how to:
    - Unpack a foil kite, untangle the bridles, and the correct procedure
for laying out the lines and connecting them to the bridle
    - Safe procedure for self launching and landing, with and without an
    assistant
    - Discussion of conditions and other considerations
    - Packing the kite away again, neatly ready for the next session.
Leave the pumping at home. Rig up and get onto the water faster!

Very well explained and I’m amazed this video was released today and not like most of the other videos I could find from 4 to 12 years ago. Although they are still helpful tips it is nice to see something more up to date. I just received my first foil kite from Ozone on Monday. 11 meter chrono v5 and I’ve already landed my first front roll board off with it in 15 knots. From inflatable to the foil kite the ability for progression is unbelievable until you try it. Thank you guys at Ozone Kites! I know for a fact I will have some friends that will be placing orders from your website soon✌️

The fun with the foil kites starts when the whole kite is out of trim. Not so cool with that trimming issues. (Don’t think it is better with other brands, the problem is with all of them)

You sound like you would be the fun person to have at parties. If you have a chrono v2 that you have never flown before then you should tune it or just sell it and buy something that isn’t almost 10 years old. Maybe this video will be helpful for you. czcams.com/video/wYXqPgO0Dc4/video.htmlsi=1DSzOB2RaiVjrPI9

@@IJzzo it sounds like to me it is a personal problem. Reading from your other comment you said you have a chrono v2 that you have never flown before. You should tune it or sell it and buy something new that isn’t used and over 8 years old. Maybe this video will be helpful for you. czcams.com/video/wYXqPgO0Dc4/video.htmlsi=1DSzOB2RaiVjrPI9

Informative video. A couple things I would like to add. When attaching the kite bar lines to the kite lines, avoid kneeling on them as seen in this video. I assume the instructor was merely trying to get a good angle for filming and otherwise wouldn't do this.
This is not particularly good for the lines as fine sand and dried salt can be worked into the weave of the lines, deteriorating their condition.
Also, when hooking into any kite, I recommend attaching the safety leash to the safety line before hooking the chicken loop and stick. If the kite were to suddenly pull or prematurely launch before getting hooked in, the kite would simply flag out on the safety line and remain within the safe zone you established before laying out your kite.
Another tip would be to pre-inflate the foil kite by fluffing it thus allowing the ram air channels to fill a bit ...making self launch much easier. Otherwise, trying to start a very compressed kite that has just been unpacked will be very challenging if not impossible in light winds.
    Hope these tips are useful.

I love my foil kites just wish there was an easy way to self land on the beach. Right now I bring it to the side then hit the safety and run to the side so it won’t swing around down wind and flap all over. If really strong winds I do this in the water at shore.

Nice video, comes handy as I have a Chrono v2 laying around that was still not brought up in the wind by me.
But during packing you did take no care for the plastic reinforcements?
    Concertina packing?

    Self landing?

I ride where there is no one to assist me. Landing in stronger wind is always a disaster which gives me a twisted mess.
I had 3 foil kites and down to 1, because of this
I want to use the foil kite but after landing disasters the 1 plus hours of detangling lines makes me want to sell it.

Hook your chicken loop in on a fixed object and then go to kite? Is that no option for you?

No good if you need someone else to help land it
