  • Fortune came my way when traveling to my parents I came across this Huge pile of model Railway Items on the way to my parents for an absoulte Bargain! It was on the side of the Road and at first I had bought it just by seeing the track and the train set on top so felt it was a low risk but it turns out there was much more in the box than first thought.

What a fantastic find, all those look as though they’ll run fine with a bit of tlc. Must admit I thought you were a bit ambitious setting the track up as you did, especially with the points, I would have set the train set oval up for test purposes. The Oxford Janus shunters are great locomotives, shame the handrails are all missing but for £25 with all the other stuff you can’t complain. Have fun fixing it all up, cheers Rob.

Okay there are a lot of 0-4-0 'Rockets there but the rest of the stock and buildings, never mind the track, you got your moneys worth there for sure. I'll look forward to videos on what you do with them, as will many folks, no doubt! I hope you get the little Smokey Joe running and it isn't smokey on the track! Nice one and thanks for sharing it with us. Much appreciated. Keep safe and well, sir. Cheers!

Some of the 0-4-0Ts are named after the prog rock band Marillion, Singer (Steve) Hogarth Stone and Guitarist (Steve) Rothery Industries. This has been quite common with Hornby, others sets of theirs include locos and wagons named after King Crimson and Porcupine Tree members. A designer at Hornby must love their prog rock!
