Lisa, Lisa, Lisa…..my favorite person to listen to videos and how-to’s for everything quilting. I just moseyed on to your Etsy shop, did not even know about it! You are going to get an order Miss Lisa once I get my a back stateside. This will only be sometime in December….because I am in Canada right now. You are such an angel my dear, followed your house hunting and your move into the new home. May God bless you always for your amazing work and the absolute kindness of your heart sharing with all of us. Thank you so very much for being YOU!
Where have I been??? I needed this long ago. Follow you and love your tutorials. Thank you so uch,
What a great idea 💡👏
excellent tutorial! You are a great instructor. I wish I had the tools for sublimation but I don't have enough projects to warrant them at this time.
Thank you for sharing... You help me solving my problem to create my own label.. Subscribed done...
I need those!
If you leave more edge allowance for cutting, you can use pinking sheers, leave plenty space to ensure stitches keep ribbon in place when attaching to projects. 😊
Hi Lisa. Great video! Thanks so much for your expertise. You mentioned that you were purchasing a ribbon cutter/sealer. Can you please tell me which one you purchased and if you're happy with the purchase? Thanks again!
I got two different hot wire cutters and don't recommend any of them lol. Now I just cut them with a rotary cutter :)
Amazing
Thank you so much Karen!
😂 I am definitely computer challenged. What a great item to add to one's quilt. You wouldn't by chance do this as a service in your Etsy shop?
Yes, I will be offering this as a custom service in my Etsy shop :) you can click on my Etsy link and send me a message in the meantime if you want to order some ♡

Hi Lisa Have you tried using your sublimation printer to print on cotton fabric. Would be great if it worked. Maybe cotton-polyester would work? Something like broadcloth. If you try any please share your results with us. Would be a great experiment to try! Thanks, Marilyn
Hi Marilyn! Unfortunately sublimation doesn't work with cotton fabric. There are different sprays that you can use to get better results with cotton, but I have not tried them yet. I've been reading so many blogs about different sprays and it seems that there is still some fading when using different sprays. Now I have tried subbing on the Symphony Broadcloth from Joann Fabrics. It's 65% poly and I got some pretty decent results! Just this week though I got three diffrent polyester fabrics but have not had time to experiment with them yet.
Can you use an iron to transfer to the ribbon or do you need a press? Sorry if I missed that. Thanks! Love the labels.
Hey Kimberly! Okay, so I have not tried using the iron so I'm not 100% sure on it. I'm THINKING you can, however a few things to keep in mind. The sub paper has specific heat settings to go by for different applications....for textiles it says 400 degrees. I think it would be hard to tell how hot exactly your iron is (maybe)......and you'll need to apply pressure the whole time, without moving around. So I don't think it's impossible.....just keep those things in mind :)
Thanks for asking that question! I as just wondering the same thing.
Thanks for replying Lisa! That’s what I was thinking too. I may have to get creative with a 400 degree oven and a cash iron skillet. Lol
I have the same sewing basket
aweeeee, that's awesome! I got mine at the age of 12 along with my first sewing machine. I still have both :) The brother sewing machine is retired now hahaha...but I still use my sewing box daily.
Can you do this with an iron Lisa? Can’t afford a heat press…..
❤❤😊
Do you have a printer dedicated to sublimation? or can you switch between regular ink and the sublimation ink?
I bought my new Epson for the sole purpose of sublimation. It will only ever have sublimation ink in it. You can convert pre-used printers into sublimation, however it's a process. Lots of videos here on CZcams showing how to do it :)
How much would you sell a page of those labels as I do not bave a heat press.
Can you make actual bigger quilt labels using sublimation?
Hi Denise!! Thanks for watching.....yep you can do a whole quilt label this way :)
@@TheQuiltmakerHomestead awesome thanks! I just got my sublimation printer!
What was the name of the glue you used and can you use it for tacking down your quilt binding
It's called Fabi-Tac glue. Can be found at Walmart and craft shops :) You could use it to tack down your binding....I just use regular Elmer's glue for that because it's way more cost effective :)
Thank you so much I enjoy all your videos
I ordered some ribbons from another company but I’m not real happy. Please offer this service in your Etsy store.
Can I ask...what was it about the ribbons that you didn't like? I'm trying make these the best that I can before I sell any ♡
Will these fade?
These are sublimated on 100% polyester ribbon....no fading :) if there was some cotton mixed in, then yes it would fade some
