Hi Nick! OMGolly, I laughed so much at you and Muffin! She was really being a pill, but what a cute one! I don't have a cat, but I've seen so many comments on cats liking spider plants. There were quite a few below, too. My sister gave me a Bonnie "baby", but when I took it out of water and planted it, it died pretty quickly. The way you talked about yours, I'm now inspired to get one like it. My Mom had one that had babies all the time. You got some really pretty plants. It's so nice to see you more back to your old self, happy, laughing, being too cute! I'm glad you're doing so much better. Thank you so much for sharing!

I’m a member of the Philadelphia Horticultural Society and attend the flower show almost every year. So this video caught my eye. I have purchased some of the greatest plants there. Nick, be careful with your spider near Muffin…. It doesn’t make my cat sick, but when i water and i forget to put her back, my cat has a field day on her. I looked it up online because my cats don’t go for my other plants. But, I guess the spiders are kinda like catnip to cats… My beautiful spider is now all snacked on lol… 😅 :(

Jordan’s Jungle is near me. I’m on MA/RI border. It is a lovely plant paradise when you walk in there.. could spend hours. However, and this is a big however…. The people didn’t really seem too friendly or into their plants and i brought a String of Turtles home full of slugs, yes slugs… eeewwww…. Should’ve seen me.. i was so grossed out. I wrapped it in a bag and threw it straight into the trash can. Lmao hahaha

My curly spider plant did so well until I started sharing her over grown babies lol, then she slowly died. Not sure why that happened. Will def. Purchase another at some point. Always enjoy your videos .

Beautiful plants that you picked up. Your are correct about the spider plant in that pot and hanger being a so 70’s vibe! I’m dating myself but I had one just like it back then and wanted another back two years ago and couldn’t find one. It’s nice to see some of the plants I had back then making a comeback. Enjoy!

I used to have a spider plant a long time ago. I have tried several times to have another from cuttings, but for some reason, my oldest kitty hates and attacks them every time! Some day I will try yet again! Probably one that's already well established. Might have better luck that way. Hopefully!!

Love your little Muffin cat. Enjoyed hearing about your experience at the show and sharing in the joy of your plant haul. I have a piper crocatum in my outdoor garden room here in SWFL. It started producing an exudate a month or so ago and I’m not sure what this is all about. It’s beautiful and seems happy in a very airy mix that I also put together for my Hoyas. Good luck with yours. Don’t let Muffin bite it. It’s toxic to kitties. Thank you for sharing.

Happy to see you happy! Have has several cabinets and grow tents in the past few years. IMO main differences - cabinets ( more set up/prep/less stable environment) benefit you can see your higher maintenance plants; grow tent (minimal set up/no prep/stable environment) you cannot easily see your plants. If you may be moving or changing your space often, maybe go with the grow tent for now? Upgrade to cabinets later when planes have “graduated” the tent! Also vote for all content to include Muffin cameos!!!

My fam and I are big fans from the germantown/mt airy area, I love spider plants! I will say the unspoken secret for spider plants being happy is for each plant having their own pedestal, I feel like the hangers going thorough the foliage stresses the plant. The spider plant can do it's best on the pedestal without crowding other plants or itself.

I love Spider plants so 70s and Swedish Ivy was big then too which you never see anymore. I always had them I used to make giant macrame hangers for huge hanging plants I don't know how the ceiling stayed up from the weight. Were you mixing cocktails prior to filming

Omg Jordan's Jungle is 15 minutes from me in Rhode Island!! Their shop is like an indoor warehouse with greenhouse window ceilings and oh my god it's a plant paradise

Hey Nick. Spider plants are hallucinationic to cats. Harmless I believe, but they won’t leave them alone. I remember you saying Muffin leaves your plants alone but she will probably never leave spidey alone.

So sad to hear about your former piper ornatum, it was so beautiful it made me buy one. I probably should have waited till spring because all the newer leaves died, I recently repotted it and it's not too bad. I hope it thrives now that spring is coming 🤞

I live in Northern CA, home of dry summer heat. I love the idea of ferns hanging from my front porch, but in our climate they become crispy in a matter of days. I put my spider plants outdoors all summer and into the fall. They are so hardy and look great!

I went to the flower show for decades, but now I'm afraid to go because of how Philly is these days. My fav vendor was Wedgewood Gardens, I always got my fancy Begonias there, now I order online for my Begonias.

@@fwizzybee42 No one is immune to the crime that happens these days. I have been to the flower show at least 30 times, but the last couple of years I have been approached by people asking me for money when I walked through the Gallery to get to the convention center. Just 2 days ago a woman was beaten to a pulp by 8 youths, thankfully 3 of them turned themselves in, they know who the rest are.

I bought a piper ornatum online and ughh it did not like the shipping I lost all but 3 leaves, so I slowly rerooted and now almost 10 months later I have 5 new leaves and LOVE it. They really are beautiful plants.

hello, like you, I bought a piper ornatum, there are two plants in the pot, absolutely gorgeous, growing like mad ! I was ready to repot it because I don't like the vendor's pot but after seeing your video I think I am going to let the piper stay in his pot ! thanks for the tip ! I would love to buy a cissus discolor and also a decorative yam, they are vining with beautiful colorful leaves !
The show was great. The displays didn’t do much for me, I want to be able to see the plants and with the dark and different colored lights you couldn’t see the plants well. The competition section was my favorite. I loved the begonias and the one Variegated Anthurium. I picked up a A. Vittarifolium from Wedgewood two plants in the pot for $50. I felt a lot of the vendor stands with plants had their plants priced a bit higher than market value. I had my eyes out wondering if I would see you!

I just got my first plowmanii the other day, although it's goofy looking like 4 leaves with empty stem at the bottom so I gotta chop it but I'm gonna wait a bit first before I do. I'm trying to air layer now, wish me luck. I thought it was a crawler and was confused but yours is a climber too so I guess I thought wrong.
I'll be going Sunday (weather permitting) and I'm stoked! Hoping I can find a shooting star Hoya. 🌠
