- Ontario Provincial Police say 64 suspects are facing a combined 348 charges in connection with a series of child sexual exploitation investigations that spanned across the province.
The arrests were announced at a news conference in Scarborough on Wednesday morning.
Police said the multi-jurisdictional case, dubbed Project Aquatic, was launched in February 2024 and included 129 separate investigations from across the province involving online sexual abuse material.

Agreed! Still, it'll be quite interesting to see what comes from all of this. There's a study and recent understanding that pedophilia is considered/seen as a disease. If this is argued, I'm interested in seeing what the punishment will be (I still assume some detention) prison? mental facility? relocation and probation while being placed on the sex offenders registry? The possibilities are crazy, and some known sexual offenders, have been allowed to work with children after years of penance.

@@Quest1luv well it is a mental disorder , we do not have a public sex offender registry in Canada probably a good thing. i suspect many with this disorder take it to the grave without ever being an issue in the same way some psychopaths are not criminals and simply occupy high end jobs etc. we should make a semi private registry imo though so employers can do background checks when they work with children in the same way they check if you have a criminal record to become a police officer etc they should definitely go to jail if they are a danger to society. not sure what will happen in this case though since its not obvious who they caught, big difference if they only download media or if they the ones exploiting/assaulting/kidnapping the kids and making such media, hopefully they caught some of the ones making the media also they the ones that are directly a danger to society.
@@subspace666 hey, thank you for the insightful reply. I've worked in social work and I remember them classifying it as a mental disorder. It was a huge discussion between myself and my colleagues. I wish we had your input at the time, as I too, reside in Canada. I thoroughly like your suggestion about implementing a system like job background checks especially when working with children. To be completely transparent I agree that it's a mental disorder, as I've met a handful who surprisingly opened up to me and discussed the matter. I think they just need to get it off of their chest, in hopes of seeking help and understanding, without fear of narrow judgement. It's difficult to do so when society has conditioned your mind to just see it as a comfortable desire yet deviant, when many are struggling with their thoughts and live a life of depression, isolation and self-harming thoughts. Quick question for you though, do you think that pedophilia being diagnosed as a mental disorder, creates more opportunities for predators and/or creates a justified argument as for why they shouldn't be punished as severely? Interested in hearing your thoughts on this. Cheers!

Many victims of sexual crimes end up becoming predators because they are either groomed to become that way, or haven't been able to receive the help they needed - they'll even admit this to you themselves if you're able to build up a level of rapport with them. To a certain extent, they begin to think it's somewhat of a normal way to display affection. The mind is very complex and works in various ways that we don't always understand or like.

When i was a 6yrs old i was r**** in a foster home and the cas tried to pin it on my dad by sending me straight home from this foster home then sending me to this house where they encouraged me and several other kids to talk about it by playing these weird videos about private areas and secrets about this should be shared with a trusted adult. As a young child i was eager to share my experience but they tried to get me to blame my dad when it was my dad. Then the cas was allowed to handle my court case so when they recorded a video of me showing them what he was doing with these disgusting dolls, they didn't have a cop present and so won the case. All they had to do was record that video without a police officer present to avoid the accountability of placing me in that abusive home. It was also physically and mentally abusive so it's no wonder their 15yr old biological son was so messed up! The cas is in on this shyt because they didn't protect me not even after knowing what happened they continued to serve their own best interests!!!

It is so common for the RCMP or OPP they bring on air to be boisterous about their efforts to make Canada safer and then they commit another massive national blunder which proves them corrupt and ineffective. You expect me to believe the same people who don't even bother to find the names of the thieves exporting stolen vehicles in Montreal ports could be trusted to enforce this policy in a steadfast and non intrusive manner?

Do something so that school boards stop the availability of pornographic books in the school system. Children should never be exposed to perverted books or images. Law enforcement should be charging school authorities w/endangerment & abuse of children.
