206 tourists evacuated from the Comoros Islands after a coup led
by French mercenary Bob Denard, arrived on Saturday (30/9) in
Johannesburg. Most of the tourists had stayed at a
beach resort 50 kilometers (30 miles) from the capital, Moroni,
and had seen no sign of the violence. They said they had had
conversations with local people from which they got the impression
that the overthrow and arrest of President Said Mohamed Djofar by
one of Africa's most notorious mercenaries had some popular
    support.
