Today, on this very special episode of The Ranveer Show, we welcome S. Sreesanth. Sreesanth is a former Indian cricketer known for his aggressive bowling style and contributions to India's victories in the ICC World Twenty20 in 2007 and the ICC Cricket World Cup in 2011. He has been an inspiration to many aspiring Indian cricket players and cricket fans in general.
In this episode, we will talk about his journey in the Indian Cricket Team, the 2007 World Cup finals, pre-captaincy MS Dhoni, the angriest he has been on the field, first-ever IPL auctions, his relationship with Yuvraj Singh, Sachin Tendulkar, MS Dhoni & much more. We also touched upon the hardest time of his life and how he coped through those years with strength and patience.

Sreekanth's story is so similar to Nambi Narayan who was wrongfully accused for espionage. Just like Nambi narayanan did, I so wish Sreesanth sued both BCCI and Delhi police for ruining his promising cricketing career and his life. The judge literally threw the case out saying there was zero evidence against him. I wish someone would make a Netflix series or a movie about his life and the injustice done to him. And it is really admirable to see him come back without any grudge against anyone and still be so positive about life. đđ

Sreesanth's role in the 2007 world cup semi final against Australia was crucial. He bowled both Gilchrist and Hayden and that Hayden wicket was the turning point of the match.
He brought real aggression of a fast bowler to Indian cricketer. When he ran in, he could make a batsman fear pain and he wanted now we have a whole generation of them.
A truly magnificent bowler, who was done in by the system. His consistent speed with line and length of bowling was truly amazing. He was a terror to Australian, SA and WI.
He can easily refuse the money and didnât do spot fixing in ipl, he could be Indiaâs one of the best ever

Its partly my fault and also the mainstream media during that time which made me believe a cooked up story. But there is usually more than it meets the eye especially if you get something from the mainstream media.

British Raj divided their territories into Presidencies.
Madras was one such Presidency.
Hence inhabitants of Madras Presidency were termed as Madrasis in those days.
Even today, despite being one State, People from Saurashtra region are called Kathiawadis and they in turn call the others are Gujaratis as in from Gujarat Mainland. Historically they were different territories. Same for Marwadis from Marwar, but then everyone from Rajasthan were referred similarly. There is no hate as such, itâs just itâs hard to change people from an older generation.
Stopped watching IPL as a kid when Sreesanth got banned, he was simply something else on the field with the aggression and power man and with his immensely talented dancing skills off the field made him super charming and somebody great to look upto as a kid. Happy to see the man spiritually inclined and happy with his family years later, now that is rare, fame comes and goes.

I am about 30 now. I never played any sport. I still don't take interest in any matches for any sport. Sure, a couple of times with family I enjoy the family time when there's a cup or series, I like it.
But when Sreesanth was a part of the Indian team, I looked forward to all matches. His agression was IMO was well deserved for the immense talent he had. He to me is the only bowler in that day's era had the skill of creating pressure on a whole team with every over he bowled. His stump actions were freakin' insane. Clean! I respect and adore him. Be it whatever he is accused or proven to have done.

Sreesanth is not a Sanju Samson. A balanced, grounded champion cricketer. Who should have been in the Indian Cricket Team across formats more regularly. His best is ahead of us. And one of the best cricketing brains in the country.
