      I can tell how it feels to put myself in your shoes. But you really did it greater and more enjoyable than many many others at least with this video since this is the 1st one of yours I came across. The way you talk has some soothing and calming effect that's nice to feel and makes me wanna listen, like an aggreeable friend.
      I've been trying to get my 1st SONOS with the Era 100 and went through almost all the videos on the web cos in my country, once the SONOS packaging is opened, no return for refund unless manufacture quality is at fault. Your video is the most delightful and helpful. Watched every second of it.
      Quick question, does the Era 100 have background (white ) noise when the music is duing its silent/quiet part or when the volumne is low? Found some bluetooth speakers have it, quite audible as to be annoying. It'll be a deal breaker to have. Thanks for the help.
      Not a gamer, so looking forward to your future gadgets videos.@@VidVayder

      @stevetangjt that’s unfortunate about the returns policy. Too bad Sonos doesn’t have a headquarters in your country. I used my ERA100 as surround speakers and did not hear any white/static noise when it wasn’t playing sound or during quiet moments. I do experience this with Sonos One as surrounds. I would highly encourage you to go to a showroom in your country to test the speakers first to make sure it meets your requirements. Better than finding out the hard way. Thanks once again for the kind words of encouragement 🙏

      I've been using a UE boom and the last couple of years a MegaBoom 3 for my PC and for watching videos on my cell phone at home. Seems Era 100 is a way better replacement especially sound quality wise. Really hope for a much better improvement to my sound experience. Unfortunately there's no SONOS store in my city so all I can do is to research it online. Thanks for your help. Have a nice one!@@VidVayder

    Great point on speaker stands.. I sent a message to Sonos on one of their CZcams shorts to say as a Sonos One official stand customer it is wasteful that you have to buy new official Sonos stands for the Era 100.
    They look the same other than the speaker holders and suggested they have Era 100 speaker holders on their Store for purchase for existing Sonos One official stands.
    Sonos CZcams replied saying they would pass my feedback onto their production team. ^__^=
    Fingers crossed for the thousands of us using them for our Home Cinema.

      Yeah it just makes sense to swap out the heads. Less wasteful and less effort to get everything swapped out. Hopefully Sonos has good news regarding that 👍

    Thanks. But I don't understand the Wifi 6 point actually. Anyway your other devices are in wifi 5, so you will only have your Era 100 connected in wifi 6. And again I am not sure From the moment you use it with other speakers from the previous generation. Like the sound bars, the Beam 2 still uses 2.4GHz.

    • @VidVayder
      @VidVayder  Před rokem

      That’s the thing, I don’t know if upgrading my router to Wifi 6 will even help. But I do know that without the SonosNet compatibility, I had issues. The only hope for others like myself could be the use of Matter, but that is not guaranteed. For now I have to stick to the Ones as surround speakers.

  • @Dando-1983
    @Dando-1983 Před rokem +2

    I had a BeamGen2 connected to Ethernet and my Sonos one surrounds had terrible connection issues when I’d watch movies.. or standard tv Dolby Digital.. yep on the so called Ethernet Sonos Net..
    I purchased a Sonos Boost and all was resolved. They sound great.
    I will be looking to upgrade to Era 100 but will wait until I get a Wi-Fi 6 router..

    • @VidVayder
      @VidVayder  Před rokem +1

      That’s a shame. It worked perfectly for me and I wonder if plugging Ethernet into my SL made the difference? It shouldn’t though, but at least Boost helped you! Yeah I think in your case it’s best to see what happens really. The Ones are still great at what they do.

    I have my Beam Gen2 connected via ethernet cable and my Era 100 are connected as surround speakers wirelessly as "WM0" and can't be seen in my Wifi network. Doesn't this mean that they use Sonos Net? Anyway, this setup works perfectly.

    • @VidVayder
      @VidVayder  Před rokem

      Interesting! Go to Settings > System > Network. Does it show SonosNet and the channel number?
      Maybe it’s bonded to your Beam but not in a single closed channel? I don’t know for sure, but I do know the Era 100 doesn’t work as well as surrounds for me as the SL, and the documentation says it doesn’t use SonosNet. Good to hear that it’s working well for you regardless!

    • @larsb.2073
      @larsb.2073 Před rokem +1

      Yes, it does. It’s channel 1 in my setup.

    • @larsb.2073
      @larsb.2073 Před rokem +1

      Initially I had deactivated my WiFi on the Beam (as it was connected by cable) but this didn’t work well (lots of sound dropouts on the surrounds). Then I activated WiFi on the beam again (leaving it connected to the cable) and everything switched to WM0 and works perfectly now.

    • @VidVayder
      @VidVayder  Před rokem

      No, you need to set up the Era 100 via WiFi before you can use it as a Bluetooth speaker. You can probably set it up anywhere else that has WiFi and then take it home though.

  • @diggergeensen860

    Sonos have basically made their entry level product too expensive, and missed the boat adding an upfiring driver for rear surround applications all at the same time with these 100’s. The 300 is greatly overpriced, for those searching for Atmos capable rear surrounds. The 100 should have been designed to be a cheaper option to the 300, but Sonos bungled that opportunity big time. There’s a reason sonos shares are tanking and they’re having to lay folks off. All of their latest devices have been way too expensive, and quite underwhelming performance wise. For instance. The gen 3 sub is 300 more Canadian dollars than the gen 1 was. With zero performance upgrades. The ARC soundbar is a tinny sounding, treble heavy - overrated unit, that still has major dialogue clarity issues. It’s not an upgrade compared to the decade old playbar, outside of having HDMI capabilities, and is 400 more Canadian dollars. You can grab a two room set of Sonos 1 SL’s for basically the same price of a single 100 at the moment. I know which route that Id be taking, until they discontinue the 1 SL.

    • @VidVayder
      @VidVayder  Před rokem +1

      Agree on them missing the mark on the 100. Was really hoping it would be a no brainer for people who currently use the One and One SL's for surrounds. At the moment, everyone (myself included) is finding it difficult to recommend the 100 outside a handful of situations, that being mostly people new to the ecosystem. They could have nailed both markets with upfiring speakers on the 100.

    • @diggergeensen860
      @diggergeensen860 Před rokem +1

      @@VidVayder I think they even missed the mark on the 300. You’re better off just buying a pair of 5s for the price. The 5s put out twice the base of the 300s, and sound great in all applications…..Not just while playing Dolby Atmos feeds. Turning off the forward facing driver, and giving you limited control’s to be able the “dial in” the 5 other drivers on the 300 - while in surround mode has a lot of customers feeling like they have a product that they can’t get the most out of. Those 300 issues either need to be rectified via update, or Sonos needs to bring the price down significantly to realistic levels.

    • @VidVayder
      @VidVayder  Před rokem

      @@VidVayder It wasn't good enough to avoid interference from neighboring networks. Constant drop outs... ditched all my old Sonos that only worked on 2.4, upgraded to the newer ones that run off the 5Ghz network and everything works so much faster and better.
