  • The ignition coil is a very simple type of transformer circuit and it gives us the spark we need to ignite the fuel inside our 2 stroke engines.
    From time to time it can go bad, but the diagnosis of it is very simple.
    In this video, we will show you how to test and how to replace the ignition coil on your Moster engine. Enjoy!

    hi. what would happen while fitting a new coil.and adjustment .the the coil is too close? and what would happen if set too far a gap? how will it effect the running? dated 21/2/2021.

    hi, I had a problem with my moster 185 classic. and I brought a brand new coil. and still no spark. so I took the motor to ukppg Nigel davies .uk who took the time to test the new and old parts. and things didn't look good. Nigel found out the flywheel magnets were not magnetic. so we then compared to a new flywheel and what a difference. the problem was the flywheel magnets. thank you Nigel davies of UKPPG.UK dated 21/2/2021

    Thanks for the video, but I did not understand how putting a .4 mm cardboard sets the gap. The engine is machined so you can’t adjust the coil, right? What am I missing?

      I thought most all coils were adjustable on small engines

    Why there is to coil in my engine vittorize 185 moster electric starter? And what is the benefit from the lower coil?

    • @SCOUTaviation
      @SCOUTaviation  Před 3 lety +1

      The second coil is for charging the battery. It is connected to a charging regulator that charges the battery while the engine is running.

    What would the coil measure, if bad, when heated up? Or, what would a bad coil measure if cold?

    • @SCOUTaviation
      @SCOUTaviation  Před 3 lety

      If the coil will just short circuit itself while warm, then the resistance will be 0 or very close to 0. If the coil has an internal bad connection, then, very rarely but it can happen the resistance will increase a lot, times higher than normal.

    My 2 cents about this: Neither of these reasons simply should never happen under no circumstances! Ignition coil and magnetto should be engineered in the first place and manufactured for life time as solid as a rock and have no rights to break!
