    Thanks for posting this. I was using the gasket with only one hole and the cut. Switched it out and runs great. Thanks.

    Great video, but I feel you should have covered more on how to set the metering lever height, as well as checking and adjusting pop off pressure, over all excellent video I just would have like to have seen you include a little more on these two aspects of rebuilding the carbs.

      Hi Calvin, this video is about replacing the membranes. We will have a video about adjusting the carburetor, pop-off pressure and other adjustments that will cover those.
      Thank you so much for your feedback!

      SCOUT paramotor good deal. Just wanted to make sure, that people realize there is a bit more to setting up the carb. Even with just membrane replacements. I recheck my metering lever height and popoff.

    FYI, I tightened the carb screws to 10nm as mentioned in the video and cracked the plastic airbox connector. Found out in the manual that the torque should be 6nm.

    Great video series, thanks. Yes, I throw away the "fiberglass-like" pump diaphragm, as they do not last very long before they get a hole in them. But instead of using the rubber Pump diaphragm, I like to use the Mylar-based Pump diaphragms. Fuel with ethanol in it will cause the rubber-based Diaphragm port "Fingers" to curl up, and not completely cover the fuel pump ports like they should. The Mylar-based pump diaphragm does not have this reaction to ethanol, and will last years longer. I am surprised the see Walbro did not include the Mylar-based pump diaphragm in your rebuild kit.

    Moster 185 manual specifies 10 Nm for carburetor flange screws and 0.5-0.6 Nm for carburetor plastic connector screws. Are you sure the two screws should be tightened to 10 Nm?

    • @SCOUTaviation
      @SCOUTaviation  Před 4 lety

      Based on my experience 0.5 Nm is totally unrealistic for that flange. I know very well the manual, ofc. 10 Nm might be on the tight side, but using new gaskets I have found 10Nm to be spot on, without damaging the plastic flange anyhow.

    • @tyrden
      @tyrden Před 2 lety

      Great video. I also question the 10Nm for the carburetor flange. At 10Nm the plastic flange begin to deform at the screws. I backed it down to about 6Nm but I’m concerned the damage is done. I’ll need a new plastic flange. Is there any new guidance from Vittorazi for the Moster MY20 Plus?

    • @superflytnt2978
      @superflytnt2978 Před 2 lety

      Definitely not 10nm!!! I torqued the plastic connector screws to 10nm and cracked the plastic boot connector! Back it down to 5-6nm and check the connector every time as part of your pre-flight

  • @RogerBarraud
    @RogerBarraud Před 4 lety

    Cleaning?
    Gasket sealants?
    Lubrication?
    Why did you throw out the old gaskets before you unpacked the new ones? - I would be carefully comparing the new ones - especially where there are two similar-but-different ones supplied in the new kit... to make sure I was installing the correct choice.
    Any comments re what is special about these carbs? - Are they altitude-compensated?
    Why not fuel injection? More to go wrong?
    Thanks for the video anyway.
    Good production quality ... only nit would be the music is too much louder than the speech, and the usual bugbear of pumping compression :-/
    Cheers!

  • @F.O.D.

    It didn’t show how to adjust the carb lever… just that one should. 😕

  • @RogerBarraud
    @RogerBarraud Před 4 lety

    Another nit: Your speech is actually quite muffled (no sibilance) much of the time.
    Not sure what kind of microphone you are using or its placement, but you are pretty obviously talking off its major axis most of the time; I can hear the sibilence come up sometimes, as presumably you shift around into its major axis of (treble) sensitivity... or something on the workbench reflects treble back into its sweet spot.
