    Fall is a great time to do these back roads, everything is nice and dry and graders haven't been along for quite a while.

      Yes and there is also better view on surrounding then when all is full of green. Quite a different view in the autum indeed.

    Nice video, you are welcome to post a bit longer videos too :).
    I have the same AT Model but I got all protection parts in red, she looks good in red.

      Thanks! Will try to post longer videos in the future... Red guards must stand out, I imagine that she really looks good indeed. Are you doing any offroad with AT? My biggest consideration is always not to push too far to get in troubles I can't get out by my self... :)

      Yes I am, but I am learning to offroad on my AT, so she is already scratched since I fall a lot :D @@RideWithGec

      I used to like more tourist orientated places, but now I find more joy in exploring remote unknown trails ali places. This brings out that human primal instinct to explore and adventure spiced with a little bit of danger.

    Hi, have you changed the tires? Which one are you using now? What experience is 19" wheel driving off-road?

    • @RideWithGec
      @RideWithGec  Před měsícem

      Hello! Currently I am on Mitas E-07 Enduro. 19''' wheel will still do the job Off-Road however bigger 21'' is more suitable, but you can hardly feel the difference.

    good point of the going down a hill and not being able to come up. what do u do in that situation? Should i be alright if cars can make it up n down.

      Luckely I had a good sense when to stop pushing so far. On few occasions I dismounted the bike and do some scouting by foot. Particular in this video if I would continued next 100-200m I would be in big troubles, I would have to abandon the bike and return for the rescue. Because of such cases I am thinking to carry non stretching rope with pulley system (1:3) at all times when Off-Roading. Such solution is labor and time intensive, independent from power supply but can save the day in the end.
      In most cases you can outperform cars with a bike but you can't count on that. Serious Off-Road cars all have the pulley system and carry additional tools in their advantage.
      I would say that the most important thing is to get the good feel of bike and yours capabilities to get you out of dangerous situations.

      @@RideWithGec how much experience do u have riding off road motorcycle? did u grow up ridding dirt bikes? I have no expierence. I took my bmw 850gsa camping 1 time. i took wrong turn into logging road and that was tough feel off couple times. It was so steep i had no choice but to gun it up.

      @@Anticipat0r I think I could say I have some experience. I am with bikes from my 6th year and clocked over 400.000km so far on all types (cross, enduro, touring, street, supersport). Also done some racing on supersport and hard enduro... but I was never a pro rider.
      If you are a novice I would suggest you not to push Off-Road on heavy bike too much because you can get in troubles really fast... Rather start Off-Roading with light hard enduro (100-120kg, 250-350cc bike) to learn the techniques and get experienced. Such light bike can be saved from almost every bad situation with proper techniques and proper tires. When you get to 160kg+ bike then the game starts to change very fast, progressively requiring more from the driver. BMW 850gsa is 235kg+ bike and requires skilled driver in hard Off-Road situations.
      I saw a BMW 1200gs guy that went Off-Road, drop the bike on him self, crushed tibia and was unable to get bike off him. Just a pure luck saved him because hi was accidentally found by group of other riders that went by later that day and he was evacuated by heli...
      This is the reason I suggest you to start progressively, stay safe!

    How are the Karoo street off road? And do they get decent mileage?

    • @RideWithGec
      @RideWithGec  Před 7 měsíci +1

      I actually deformed Karoo Street in one of hard Off-Road rides on hard impact with the rock, luckily rim was not damaged. So I had to change tires prematurely... I clocked about 7K and they had 1/3-1/4 of profile left. Karoo Street is decent in Off-Road conditions only on dry surface, wet ones will give you really bad traction. Climbing in those conditions is off... :) I actually posted one video with Karoo Street doing Off-Road:
