Learned in less than an hour at the same church :-)
What you see and hear is basically my first performance, LOL!
Piano is Boesendorfer Imperial owned by www.leclavier.ch/

This little piece is the best answer to all those "music critics", self-proclaimed experts and other snobs who throughout the years and years belittled, ignored or attacked Liszt music as primitive kitsch designed to pander to primitive tastes of gullible public.
What can be closer to perfection than these few pages sparsely "populated" with few notes , easy enough for any amateur to tackle - yet profound and comforting to turn to in the moment of quiet happiness and contemplation - or in the moment of utter hopelessness and despair?

One of the best examples of the healing powers of classical music. It looks into the heart, sees all, understands all and forgives all in a few short minutes, both a balm and a benediction.
There's a very sharp division between the private Liszt and the public Liszt as expressed in his music, more so than with any other composer. It seems critics tend to disregard the former and attack the latter.

with liszt, it's all about the person playing and being able to picture and write a story along with the music. his music carries you in a way that you really have to appreciate and valentina interpreted it so well. you can tell that whenever she plays, she always seems to carry an emotion with it. liszt really tends to put emotion in his pieces whether it be anger, sadness, happiness, you always feel it with him. thank you, valentina for playing this piece so beautifully!

      iIthink you are correct.
Speakingas a very mediocre pianist stroking the keys enables a very soft precise sound to be producd.
This is especpially true on a piano where the keys are not so free.
though as I write I also think if the keys are very free then downward pressure may well produce too loud a sound.

    Dear Teacher,
I think you've learned it in less than ten minutes and then, you gave it another 45 minutes to perfect every detail.
Your execution is beautiful: you've utilized a very delicate touch and pauses that come both from your soul.
For the first time after 25 years, in this period of my life, I started again to play the piano and I chose this wonderful consolation as a first step: your performance is, for me, an excellent guide.
I often think that you prodigy pianists, just because you were born prodigy, do not understand what we feel when we listen to you at the piano.
In this world without principles and feelings, you and your colleagues produce "the real beauty", you're a gifts of God.
It's always a great pleasure to listen to you.

I cannot afford a teacher and anyway I suffer from RSI so I have to somehow move forward slightly less often than I move back. Having said that I have been watching many CZcams videos & discovering a real passion for work such as the one you play here so beautifully. I've learned so much from CZcams, specifically about technique & I want to say I've just witnessed rotation in action for the first time by watching how you play. Your technique is just so beautiful to watch, so effortless I can only hope that one day I can play without the exacerbated pain I feel from my practising. I am however an inspired beginner so watch out! Thank you for sharing your beautiful work & I just love Liszt.

Hey, loved to read your words, and I completely agree about this interpretation.
I taught myself the piano for 1 year and I started classes last month, and it really helped a lot (not that it matters, but I'm playing this beautiful piece).
You probably know this already, you shouldn't feel any pain while playing the piano (not sure with RSI tho), but as my teacher always keeps telling me, you need to play as relaxed as possible, maybe you are playing a little too tense?
Many things can happen in 8 months and I hope that you still got your motivation to play the piano, and hopefully you got yourself a good teacher. It's never too late to learn an instrument and I'm really happy that you keep trying even with your handicap.
You made my day, keep rocking!

Yes, like the blend of Nocturne 27/2 and Liszt's "Benediction de dieu dans la solitude"

Valentina's fingers are so beautiful. One sees the result of many hours of youthful practise of scales and arpeggios played with intelligent attention and musical devotion over a long period, indeed without ceasing!

At first I thought the tempo was a bit fast but by the end of the piece I simply enjoyed the whole interpretation. Great touch on a superb sounding piano equals greatness.

A beautiful consolation played as such. Horowitz missed many notes in his rendition and left me cold. This is played from the soul with deep reverie and with careful softness to accentuate the beautiful melody. The best tempo and execution I've heard. Excellent, Valentina!

Just like Chopin tugging at the heart strings, to deep for clumsy words. Thank you for this I did not know it.

Valentina is gifted with a photographic memory. She says so herself in an interview......that, along with a very in-depth knowledge of rhythmic patterns, chord progressions and a superb knowledge of music theory.
