- This week I wanted to touch base on whats coming for the channel over the coming months, and a bit of an inside scoop on why my content is lagging behind. I want to keep everyone informed on the channel, and also collect some data to help make this channel more entertaining for YOU. Give it a look and let me know what you think!
More Tacoma, Land Cruiser, 4runner, and INEOS Grenadier content will be coming soon. More adventure content is in the works, and I will be soon showing you some ways to make your old Toyota gain some of the features of the next gen trucks!

your awesome dad is looking forward to your next build too
My dad is pretty awesome I have to say! You’re one of the few that have actually seen this thing! 😉Thanks for watching pop!
Can confirm. If you're reading this, the travel content on this channel is AMAZING!
Thank you for the continued support, I really appreciate you tuning in and always leaving comments on my work! 🙏
Your adventure content is my favorite. The naration, storytelling, and quality is top notch!
Thanks Josh! I appreciate the feedback my man! 🙏
I'm 58 years old and owned Toyotas my driving life. I keep them for the long haul. I still own a 1996 Tacoma. Bought in 98 with 30,000 miles. My youngest son now drives it. I got my 2012 FJ in February. Gonna keep it to the end. Glad your keeping yours. Looking forward to the upgrades as I too will be wanting to do some. I also like your travel and adventure videos.
Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment! I think you’re gonna like what I have coming up!
I’ve been a Toyota driver for over 40 years. My hole family drive Toyotas. There the best, and really enjoy your content.
Thank you for checking it out! Toyotas have always treated me quite well!
You are a great story teller no matter what the adventure. You help me and thank you for being a down to earth individual.
I really appreciate that, thank you very much.
Your channel and future plans are amazing. LOVE that you’re keeping the FJ, and can’t wait for this channel to get the following it WILL get.
Thanks for the encouragement! The Fj is gonna looking fresh here pretty quick! Thank you for always taking the time! 🙏
Look forward to what you have coming! Great work!
Hey thanks buddy! I’m looking forward to what you have coming too, when can we expect to see that close up with the Tacoma??!!
@@IndependenceOverland Thanks! It would have to be after the SEMA show. Toyota holds measuring session for aftermarket suppliers there. So they prefer me showing detailed stuff after that. The press vehicle may not be available till the new year, even the non-hybrid (seems to be a little delayed). I really wish to make that video with the press vehicle, so we'll see..nevertheless, I'll be testing a 23 Tundra TRD Pro for a week starting this Thursday!
@TinkerersAdventure Daaaamn working your way up man! Toyota is doing the smart thing by working with you! Congrats and well done!
thanks man. i'm grateful for the opportunity they gave me. will see how it goes!@@IndependenceOverland
Excited to see what comes. Glad your keeping the FJ!!
Yeah, it needs some mechanical love to say the least. Installed the sway bar disconnect system I was seeing some major leaks 😬
Love the Fj. I can't wait to see the upgrades
It’s gonna be pretty cool man! Thanks for taking the time and thanks for being part of the Tyler clan 👊🏻😉
This is definitely my #1 go to for my CZcams rabbit hole! Thank you for everything you do!
Haha awesome to hear! Thank you!
Love the trips, and love the tips. Top notch quality. Big shout out for the work you do and efforts regarding respecting nature and the trail! These "rights" that we have, and enjoy, come with responsibilities. Thank you! Me, my FJ and my K-9 companion look forward to seeing you out there on the trail somewhere here in the Colorado wonderland. Keep up the good work and spreading the word of responsible wheelin' and respecting the trail.
Awesome comment! Thanks man, I appreciate your feedback! We will run into you one of these days I’m sure! Give that pup a belly rub for me!
Thanks for sharing your videos. I always enjoy watching. Came here for the FJ content and stayed for the great adventure footages. But as a fellow FJ owner, it warms my heart to hear you’re keeping it. Good luck with the channel. Cheers from down under 🇦🇺
Thank you sir! 🙏
11' mark? "hope not too boring". Nope, not even close. It is inspiring. Love the thought process and knowing you have more summer content rolling. Busy summer for everyone I'm picking up! Btw, can't wait for Halloween vid! Sedona. Was. The. Best! 👽
Just wait for this next one! Night vision goggles show up in the next few days! 😉
Well @independent overland, I feel with some of your past videos and comments that you may have a new Land Cruiser coming.
But I personally hope I’m wrong and you are going ahead with a new Ineos Grenadier because that would be a very interesting US building project and a different direction to what most people down under were built.
I’m personally considering ordering myself a Grenadier and building it up a bit different to 90% of the world market with my personal experience working on and helping built a number of Africa Overland touring trucks for 20+ passengers camping tours back in the 1990’s before returning home to downunder.
All will be revealed soon! I do think the Grenadier is an incredible cool platform!
Glad that you are keeping the FJ looking forward to see you next year at the PNW take care 😊
We will see you there!
Great video!! Love the travel content the most but I also have an FJ and look forward to seeing the upgrades you’re planning to do!
Oh its gonna be cool!
Can’t wait to see your FJ updates, and love the channel!! As far as content, I love BOTH the vehicle series and the travel series. I learn so much from both, and really enjoy you channel. Keep it up!
You’re the man! Thank you! Can’t wait to see that Gladiator make my Toyota look bad on a trail! 🤣
Can't wait for all of it my friend!!! The travel/trip videos are obviously your best
Thanks my man!
Nice man. CZcams is quite the grind.
It can be exhausting for sure. Gives me confidence though that if I can keep it up now, I can easily do it full time some day. We will see though, that’s a ways off!
Dude you’re the best!
Keep up the good work bro
Thanks man, I will certainly do my best!
Definitely not a Toyota guy, love my Rebel! But I really do enjoy your adventure videos, top notch. Keep up the great work!
Thanks man! I appreciate that!
Happy to be a supporter and enjoyed meeting you at Mtn West!
It was awesome to get to meet everyone. I really appreciate you all!
Stoked to see more quality content from your channel and prioritizing being outdoors in the summer! Looking forward to the build in the off season and the rest of your travel videos.
-Alex
Thank you Sarraf! I hope you are well buddy!
Stoked for the new stuff coming for the FJ! Love the content, and I think me and probably many others are here for the outdoor videos more than the new Land Cruiser or tacoma videos - there's definitely plenty of that already, and the overlanding and outdoor content you put out is awesome. It sounds like the new build will be something new, sounds like you've already had some deposits down etc. Wondering if you'd ever build an older Toyota for the channel? Thinking like an 80 series, pickup, early-gen taco or tundra, etc. I'd love to see more of the bigger overlanding channels do a build on something that's not the latest and greatest.
I have absolutely thought about older Toyotas a million times. The problem right now, is that I professionally take care of a fleet of older trucks so I know how much of a pain it can be. With my limited time to produce content as it is, an older vehicle would put me in the shop more. So for right now, newer, reliable vehicles will be the direction I go. But once I can make videos full time, I will have time to tackle some seriously cool stuff and put my professional skill set to work! I’ve got ideas!
Looking forward to seeing your upcoming videos
Oh it’s gonna be fun! 🤩
I only recently discovered you but this has quickly become my favorite overlanding channel. Stoked to see the disconnect system and I’m curious if it would work on my 07 GX470...
Thanks Chris! The disconnect system is impressive. If your GX doesn’t have the KDSS I don’t see why it couldn’t. The front end of a GX vs a Fj are nearly identical as far as I understand.
Awesome Tyler! Looking forward to see what you put out!
Thank you! Cool stuff coming soon!
Congrats!!
Thank you! 🙏
Looking forward to the new content!!
I’m hoping it will be some of my best! Thanks man!
I did the OOAT over the weekend and my fellow Tacoma owner and I were talking about you and your incredible story telling ability. Keep up the great work and can’t wait to see more content!
Dude, you’re awesome! I really appreciate the continued support and enthusiasm man. You’re one of the people I think about when I hit “publish” every time! If it ever starts to feel stale, but be afraid to let me know! Thanks buddy! 🙏
To answer your question, really love the animal content and also the debates on vehicles when using for overlanding
Thank you for the feedback man! I appreciate you watching the stuff I put out!
Great stuff Tyler.
Thank you! 🙏
i love the travel videos can't wait to see the new build
Thanks man!
Yes, good content interesting & informative. Was there a dragon lizard you didn’t find, that’s cool.
We didn’t find the one we were looking for, but we did find one that’s even more rare so I’ll take what I can get! Looking forward to the next adventure!
Excited to see your upcoming build and contents! Always a pleasure watching your videos. Best wishes to your growing channel ✌🏽
Thank you! The new build is gonna be 🔥! It’s been a looooong time coming!
Enjoyed. 👍👍
Great job on the staging and lighting in this video. Kudos for sure.
Thank you! Yeah I try to light all of my studio type stuff well, but rarely do they turn out as well!
Love your videos! Keep up the good work!
🙏 thank you!
Interested in the sway bar set up you'll be testing out.
It’s gonna be sweet man!
Thanks for the great channel. I really enjoy your content.
Thank you James! I appreciate it man! 🙏
Keep the good work.. love the Chanel
Thank you!
Love the videos
Thanks for taking the time, Ron! 🙏
I might not be able to support in a money sense, but I can throw down a comment and a like for sure
That’s good enough for me and very much appreciated man! Thank you! 🙏
❤
I jumped on when you did the new Tacoma video because I own a 2018 Taco. Whatever your choice is I'll keep watching. Also, I think your FJ is awesome. I've been watching "Lite Brite" for hardcore off road stuff. You do more overlanding stuff like I would do if I could.
Yeah they get after it on that channel! The new build is going to be quite the project, I’m looking forward to it! Thanks man! 🙏
I'm not big on lizards but I enjoy your content. Keep it up.
Plus you've answered some of my questions and that was nice.
All of my intentional creature trips are done for the year. The next videos will be exclusively just to see new places, but I do find a few cool creatures along the way 😃
Film the lizards!!!! 😀 what I really meant was: I'm not big on lizards but I enjoyed the lizards video. Don't change anything from where I stand. The diversity of content is fun. It's always cool to get exposed to new stuff. @@IndependenceOverland 🦎
Nicely done again Tyler. Have you upgraded the rear axle on the FJ Cruiser? I also run an Alu Cab RTT and awning up top on my ‘19 4Runner TRD Pro and it gets heavy! I know in the past you had mentioned a Dana? Thanks. Tom
Yes I have, I have the Diamond axle which utilizes the 80 series Land Cruiser differential. So its a 9.5" beefy setup! Your 4R should have the 8.2" if I am not mistaken, which is much stronger than what my Fj had from the factory. But since I run heavy, I figured it would be a worthwhile way to spend some money. I would very surprised if I even blow the rear diff up, I am pretty light footed!
Good choice on the Alucab!
If I had a say, the smaller land cruiser would be called the 240 FJ. Why? Why not.
Also, bro that sway bar disconnect system would be a god send. I have a homemade system that's worked good so far but I'm just waiting to hit it's failure point and mess something up. Guess I'll become a Patreon I honestly can't say there's many channels that I've watched consistently over the years.
The sway bar system is INCREDIBLE! A few kinks I am working with them on before the official release. I think you will be impressed!
Thanks for watching my videos, I truly appreciate it! 🙏
great content, question- where did you get the graphic for your FJ? is it a program or did you have it done?
I had it done by an artist The.Overland.Design on Instagram. It’s not cheap, so be prepared for that!
@@IndependenceOverland nice ok thanks man!
Hi man , I like you dude and like your adventures cause I love to do the same , I’m crazy in love with Toyotas land cruises 80,100,200, and 150,180 series prado and I had fj back when I was I. Dubai but my all time favorite is jeep Wrangler 🤪it’s seriously the most capable off road vehicle in addition to HUMMER H1 which I love the same way , now I’m in the US I love to go with you to these places especially in Utah when I will buy a new wrangler JL , and sure man I always like and save your videos to a private playlist and would love to support your channel dude , what’s your name btw ?
Hey thanks for your support my friend! My name is Tyler.
Motorcycle!
😂 Not a shot in hell!
@@IndependenceOverland haha!!!! I’m debating it.
I need to research how to do a frame swap on my 07 voodoo blue FJ and what the cost will be. I hate the fact that I may have to get rid of it. I was ignorant to the rust problem on the frames so when I went to buy it i never even thought about looking at the frame.
ah man that sucks. In the east I know that kind of thing is a huge issue, which is where I assume the vehicle lived part of its life.
@@IndependenceOverland yeah it was one owner and she lived in Outerbank NC.
@@IndependenceOverland sorry I have 2 accounts
Tyler, are your tires D or E rated? I’m upgrading my 265 KO2s to a Falken Wildpeak AT3W but they are E rated. Is this overkill for my 2012 FJ TTSE with steel front and rear bumpers, and RCI skid plates? Please advise.
My Toyota is heavy, I run an E rated tire myself. They are a bit stiffer, but stronger in theory.
@@IndependenceOverland Even when you air down?
No, I air down to around 20psi for most situations and its smooth as butter!@@davesantimaw5413
i can comment so good, you should be paying me! (Idiocracy reference) 😆
😂. I appreciate your support man, it really does mean a lot! Both of you, of course!🙏
❤@@IndependenceOverland
Curious, what shop do you work at?
I keep my day job private for various reasons. But it’s not an offroad shop, just a fleet of heavy duty stuff.
