Animals get bored too and with house pets , they dont get out to venture unlike wild animals. My first Cat I ran around chasing and playing tag or seek and pounce when she was a teen kitten. The attention pays off as she is well trained of knowing her home ( cats will venture out to find favorable owner from neighbors ) She now has a pack of 3 kittens now year old cats of always having another to look and play with. Life sucks for dogs and cats if their owner neglect their attention needs.

I wish sometimes that he would be a little independent, not that we don't love him to pieces but dang sometimes he is a bit much.😊 my wife and son have to spend 1 on 1 time with him or he will drive me nuts, he loves our family sjnce we rescued him. But I'm his main dad and he is convinced my long hair makes me one of them?😅 😮 He brings more joy then Christmas to our home, i've only had siamies, blue eyed baby boys x4.❤

My cat has two cat trees and four scratching posts. When he was a kitten whenever he’d start to scratch the furniture I’d walk him to the nearest cat post. He only scratches on the cat posts now and the scratchers on the trees. You have to train them.

Scratching Funiture, wallpaper if left to do so and owners' feet when walking back and forth.
I had 2 different cats in 4 years at different times both were nuted, and both loved to scratch everything and anything, both were my closes friends.
When outside they would scratch my balcony, my fruit trees and pretty much anything.
They both were fantastic Climber climbing into my mature Avocado trees just to chase birds.
I'd take them for walks up the back of my place and the nuted Tom would show off to me at how well he could balance himself on a 3 wired barb wired fence that crossed water.
He often got to a stage where he could go no further turning around on a 2" batten top to return from where he started or sometimes to help, I'd carry him back to the dry.
(Removing their nails or anything for that matter should be a no no as nature will care for that for them.)
Sadly, the Tom was put down just after covert with advanced cancer :( .
Wolfie my lovable girl cat had a night fight with a car 5 months back and lost :(
I now have a replacement 3-year Tom that forgets he was once a pet to a little girl, but would sooner live out in the wilds, now that our NZ winters are here, he has started turning up for his nightly pond of minced fish or steak dinners.
Some day he will go to the vet for his turn of becoming a nuted male and have all meds needed to combat the dreaded things cats may get. Cheers.

I really need to understand why my cat occasionally jumps at me and he bites me on my legs and arms. I think this is the way he feels he can talk to me, but it does not feel good and I don’t know what it is. He is trying to tell me it is very disheartening. I do everything for him. He was the rescue at eight months now he is two years and three months and I love him, but I cannot take this biting. He has scarred me for life. How long have you had them? I had the exact same experience. It took a while (over a year - maybe two, but sticking with consistent kindness and occasional tunafish for rewarding niceness will eventually win them over. Also, use one word and only one word "No" (or whatever you like) to identify and discourage bad behavior. Don't mucky it up with words your cat can't possibly understand. If you are consistent and kind, they'll eventually come around.

@@tomsmith2013 Thank you for your reply, appreciated. It’s been 9 months now and it appears this boy has bad days and good days. For some reason or other every stray animal in my area comes to my house. This cat was at first returned to its owner via his chip but returned after 5 days, it’s 5 kilometres to where he actually lives. He was in a very bad way with cut paws, thin and starving, l decided to keep him. His owners were obviously very unkind to him and lm sure he was hit by them too. His actually a very expensive Bengal and lm sure many ppl have tried to home him during his very short life of 3 years.
My biggest problem is that he stalks and attacks my older cat which actually is also a Bengal. Some ppl are just cruel but l will try my best with him. 🥲

      @denissorn Před měsícem

People approach pets as if they were plush toys. They're not, even when one neuters/spays/fix them and watches a lot of disney and vegan propaganda. When one gets a cat, especially adopted cat, never force yourself on them. Leave them alone for a while (days, weeks if necessary), to allow them to aclimate to the new surrounding, smells etc. Don't try to hold/carry it (unless you have to, or really occasionally to see how it reacts). Most cats don't like this, but not all visibly object. Don't feed them kibble. If you can't afford to feed them meat and fish (cooked and row), and almost exclusively meat/fish, give them to someone who can afford that or re-think your priorities (You should eat meat too, and it should be a priority way over vacations, gadgets etc.). When the cat acclimates, gets used to the environment, play with it (when they're in a mood), and buy/build interactive toys, and occasionally get new toys. Try letting them to visit outdoors in a safe env (If appartment cat) like hallway, balcony, garden etc. They also get bored, especially if they are healthy (You feed them well.), and having to spend whole day alone in a closed room/appartment sucks big time. Of course such animal isn't going to be happy. Then OTOH, of course they can't always get what they want, so it's ok they're sometimes unhappy.

I ask for it nicely. Don’t see how it can be perceived as rude.
You are so busy making a nasty and unnecessary comment that you have not even noticed the quality and effort I put in my videos. There is perfect correspondence between what I say and what I show on video. Each video requires - from start to end of the production process - hours and hour of work. The thumbnail alone of the video on how cats show they love you took me 3 hours - thumbnail only. I put a huge effort and a lot of time into this channel. What’s the problem if I nicely ask people to support me?
But you think you are so nice. If my request is so offensive to you just do me the favour of kindly moving on, plenty of channels out there. Have a nice life

I liked the black cat blinking over and over quickly as voice discusses slow blinks with your cat as a way to let kitty know you’re a friend., and not a threat. It makes me think. I get it though and it made me smile. I recently had the pleasure of getting to host my old roommate’s cat for a month. I’d only seen this cat 5 times in almost 6 years. But my old roommate knew who her cat loved and called on me. She had to leave town for a family matter.
Sausage (her kitty’s name ) acted like no time had even passed in 5-6 years. If I took a nap, I’d often wake up to ‘Saus’ in my lap purring like old times. It was a fun 27 days with my old buddy. I didn’t want to give her back! The only annoying thing I never had to do ever was changing the litter box. I adjusted after a week to how often I’d need to change it. Sausage is always seemingly hungry. No matter how quietly I tried to open a can of food, someone heard the click and pull of that can and knew it wasn’t just a treat, but dinner or breakfast.
In conclusion, aside from us both being older, and me unfortunately semi disabled, we still played. He cheek marked my whole home; and if I was busy with work, I’m sure the Saus remembered me always singing and putting his name in the songs. Some things never change.
Now I’m considering adopting a shelter cat sometime in the next year, as I already miss him jumping up and landing on my shoulders. He always loved me, and vice versa. I did get some great pics of him posing on my rug and up on my shoulders. One with the both of us, cheek to cheek. It came out perfect.

Sweet memories. No matter how short or long their stay in our lives is, they always leave us with something special to remember.
If you think you are ready for a new furry friend in your life, shelter cat is a marvellous choice. For some time you will think that you saved their life taking them out of the shelter... after a while you will realise they actually saved you!!! In all ways a person can be saved!
