In the first year anniversary of Code Geass Lost Stories revealed Monica Kurshevsky the Knigth of 12 backstories in a side story.
It was actually quite interesting and I felt it was worth going over for those who had always wondered who this character was.

Hey man, I preordered the lost stories game on my phone. I have some questions about it. Is there a story mode and of so, does the story follow the animes storyline? And if so, how good and accurate is it to the original source material which is the anime.

The story follows the Manga timeline of L&G, OZ, Re; while also following the anime timeline.
It also features characters like Libra who was in a video game of her own.
And it has new added content with Mario/ Maya making it technically a different timeline altogether.
I was working on a video going over all timelines of the Code Geass universe but haven't finished it yet.

Fair point I was referring to also having similar traits like eye color, heigh, hair color etc. Nunnally looks like Charles for example.
@@MyMediaChops I had never realised that Charles and Nunnally had the same hair color. I won’t count the eyes since most of the family seems to have shared some sort of purple as their eye color. That is just a very strange detail.
Ah yes my favorite aspect of R2. The number of side characters tht just get clowned on and ultimately serve no real purpose

R2 is rushed, they should Make the events involving sneizel into a movie up until the ending

@@kamilazman2943 Charles had 108 wives/mistresses, with Marianne just being the only one he had any serious feelings for, and we know of at least ten other half-siblings.
It reminds me of clovis taking revenge on the Japanese for lelouch and lelouch taking revenge against clovis for the Japanese. Just so many layers to code geas

@@fn_kaze Clovis did adore Lelouch and Nunnally. After it was announced of their presumed death during the Kururugi Rebellion. The trauma of the death of his half brother and sister made him a terrible adult who forgone human experimentation and massacre. And the hatred it was focused on was the Japanese who he thought caused their death.

Bloody shame this was never pointed out in "Code Geass R2". Would have been an interesting part of the story..
Apart from Anya and Monicas I totally forgot there were 2 more female round, shows how little of an impact the knights of rounds made.

They serve their purpose and that is to make suzaku look cooler as knight of 0.
This is a Ret-con. She was a side character and then later was developed because it was popular but the change is irrelevant to the story now.
I agree with you Code Geass was an original anime and as they had to rush R2 it is probable that while they conceptualized the traits of these character, this backstory didn't even exist until recently, she was just a sexy looking background characters made to be put to death in order to make us feel something about the brutality of the war, because when a generic looking mob dies you don't pay too much mind to it, but a sexy looking girl killed in a fast and brutal way for some reason make you wonder what could have be done in a different way to avoid all of this. XD
I think her Grave was Special in that cemetery though. Though unseen, it's just sad that she died. Her role could had been a bit larger and would been a bit sadder than what was. Thanks for this game, looking forward to the Global Release of this Game anytime.
He didn't give a crap about any of his kids, so it makes sense he doesn't care about Monica. I do feel this is just a filler story. It's nice to know her backstory but it really isnt needed. What they should of done was done OVA's for other characters to flesh out more of Code Geass.
If there was a plan to reveal this backstory of Monica Krushevsky early on, we could have gotten something far more entertaining in R1 & R2. The impact it would have on her death would be tragic to Lelouch or Nunnally if they found out about what happened after the battle. They have an alternative timeline, so who knows if her character could get expanded in the Z of the Recapture anime?
I mean maybe on Nunnally but Lelouch? lmao he wouldn't blink twice except be reminded his dad was trash

Arguably the knights of the round as a whole was probably the weakest plot point in R2. They barely added anything and were mostly killed off unceremoniously.
Yeah. But it was a goal for Suzaku. Flimsy But needed for hi. Since suzaku wasn't adding much aside from being a obsticle
Besides Gino and Anya yeah. Even the 1st knight barely mattered and was only a fodder in the end
Because second half of season two is meant be two seperate seasons the created wanted and needed three seasons but had cemap sesson 3 intocseason 2 when denied it
I agree. While we did get Gino and Anya, I still wish we saw what the Knights of the Round was like as an organization.
I wanna know the back story of the dark skinned lady knight of the round, that is effortless killed by Suzaku

I only know her from CG fandoms especially stories of her being Lulu childhood friend and possible lover.
Imagine a retcon, where she survived her knightmare being destroyed, after all, characters have survived worse.
Unfortunately in every Alt timeline she dies in the very same battle- some with her KMF but she still dies point blank.
Marika survived hers!.... Monica does not
Hmmm idk about that, her backstory is neat and all but exactly WHERE would they fit her backstory with the main plot of the anime? I think it's a tad unfair to claim that the anime was rushed because they didn't include the backstory of a background character who isn't even closely associated with members of the main cast.
If you want them to expand on her character then that fine, they can probably make a light novel about it but ultimately she doesn't have any real connection to the main events of the anime and if they tried to force her in there then people would just complain about something else. As far as I'm aware Lelouch doesn't even know she exists and she has no close ties to people like Suzaku, Euphimia or Cornelia so none of them have any real reason to care about her.
If anything if her identity WAS revealed in the main story then I don't see why Lelouch would care about her anymore then he cares about his extended family (which is to say not at all). The only person I can think of that would care about her is Euphimia but she's un-alive now and her sister Cornilia doesn't care about anyone who isn't Euphimia.
Eh. It's not a BAD story, but also we already have over a dozen half siblings to contrast against the main characters and like another 150 we know existed but don't see. We don't need another, especially Maribelle light.

I hope when we get the North America release they will do all the stories that have already been shown in Japan.
I'm positive that Monica's backstory as we know it didn't exist in R2, and was invented whole cloth for the mobile games.
That aside, I have mixed feelings about Monica being ANOTHER princess when her illegitimate blood ties could have been a possible avenue to explore less-seen parts of Britannia's government. That said, was there any actual evidence of Charles being the father? Or could Monica be mistaken in thinking that it's him?
The story didn't apply doubt when they stating that Charles is her father.
Based on what happened in R2 I completely agree that this reconned in the mobile games
However it's possible it might have been in the og plans for R2 that was scrapped
Interesting observation- Charles is like the Zeus of the Code Geass universe, he just can't keep it in his pants and is considered an all powerful King. But at least his wife doesn't go insane and try to kill the offspring because of it (From what I've seen).
While true, Marianne does share a good deal of Charles' sociopathy. After all, she's canonically a flagrant body-jumper when it comes to dying, so for all we know, she might have possessed a ton of other people even before her being a consort. And that's not even mentioning how little doing things like stealing most if not all of Anya's childhood from her seems to affect her.
I mean, Monica basically had not much to do with Lelouch's story... would make a great spinoff but thats it
I feel bad for Monica, there would’ve been an emotionally dramatic moment were she reveals her true backstory to the likes of Lelouch & Nunnally, it could’ve been amazing….but I guess not ☹️😞😞
Charles has a bunch of kids who we know nothing about so add her to the pile. 😅 I was hoping she was Charle's too young gf because that would at least be a new dynamic

yeah thats sadly what R2 is wasted potential. They really needed another full season to flesh out more of the story and characters but ended up cutting corners to finish it
At least the game gave her more focus. I hope she returns in another anime season.

and as i recall bismarck says that shes the only person that he had to use his geass on before suzaku so shes a badass to a point where bismarck had to predict her attacks to even beat her.

F her who cares about her not getting screen time shes a side character. Not every character in the story gets one because it will make it unfocused and a gigantic mess that some people dont seem to understand.

Simple question complicated answer.
No, it is canon just a different canon. since the timeline has a mix of manga, other video games, and the og anime.
Now imo certain parts of OZ, L&G etc are canon to the main story if they explain how certain events happened affecting the main story.
EX showing Suzaku becoming the Knight of Seven doesn't affect the main timeline.
The same applies to Monica, this backstory doesn't do too much damage beyond my complaints of the story.
It's one of those introduce first and explain later sort of things.
Now this gets into interesting territory with Nunnally and Marika.
Marika didn't die in OZ because Leonhard saved her eventhough she looked dead in the og anime.
And Nunnally was saved by the Glinda Knights but Sayoko didn't mention them when she spoke to Jeremiah.
At the end of the day this is all subjective on your perspective.
If you believe that canon means only things in the og anime then yes you are correct.
Hopefully, that didn't confuse more on the matter.

The game looks to come out in September! At least it's something, a mobile game I play had a Code Geass cross-over event last year for the JP and KR servers...
But I thought Charles loved Maria. Why he be cheating? Must be awkward af to later have Maria come back and say "i know what you did" xD
I wish they really put Code Geass to bed. They milking this like they're doing with SAO. Didn't realize the popularity till its too late and then tried to think of convoluted way to milk it for all its worth.
