I'm a simple guy, I see anything Lady and the Tramp related and I instantly like!
The dog pound scene being forgotten reminds me of Pinocchio when the kids get turned into donkeys and they never get rescued.
Baz The Storyteller hmm now that you mention it those scenes are kind of similar.
I felt like the kids turning into donkeys though worked a lot better for Pinocchio because of how much temptation can end up scarring a child to the point of no return.
It is implied that some of them would escape through the hole the daschund was digging
The lament of the dogs in the pound is so heartbreaking!
I know you can't spell hatred without red hat but your hat is an exception
I mean we've seen that the dogs at the pound were digging an escape tunnel so maybe they were able to escape.
The film doesn't show this actually happening, and it easily could have. If it's not in the film, it's not the official ending, it's just a theory. For all we know, the dogs could have been put down before they had a chance to finish the tunnel.
To me, "Lady and the Tramp" is the best animated features from the Golden Age of Disney Animation and I'm grateful Walt Disney made this because I love dogs.
I love this movie. while I agree about the dog pound scene, whenever I see it, all I know is "He's A Tramp" is gonna play which I like. What I don't like about the ending is that we never see Aunt Sarah or the cats get any punishment for their actions. Yes, she sends dog treats as an apology, but we're talking about a woman who treats Lady like trash, causes her to run away and almost get killed, chains her outside in the rain and lock her in the basement. If I were Jim Dear and Darling, I would ban her from the house or make her pay Lady and Tramp's vet bills.
You know.
That's a very good point, this movie needs a screen like that.
This movie is one of my favorite movies from my childhood and how I started liking dogs and was introduced to the story style of "story by expression and movement without speech," besides Bambi, and several other things the movie introduced me to as a child.
I always like Lady because she's so cute with those giant ears. I wasn't a fan of the ending either. I always wondered what happens to the dogs like Peg. I just feel worrisome for her because I also like her as a character. We don't get to see any conclusion about them like managing to get out of the pound.
Your review touched my childhood heart, 'Lady and the Tramp' indeed was one of Disney's most romantic and cute love stories but about the dog pound scene and where Lady yells at the Tramp after founding out who he really was definitely triggers me real bad even as a kid but, if you have seen the remake which came out two years ago and is now on Disney+, I'm glad Disney softened those two scenes I hated the most so I could finally relax and enjoy the movie, I also love how they gave Peg, that female dog from the dog pound, more roles into the remake, and I love her better when she sang 'He's a Tramp' in the remake because she described the Tramp more as a commoner than she did describing him as a "womanizer" in the original film, plus the lighting effects and music used in the remake were AWESOME! At least what I don't like about the remake is they made Jock a girl when I love HIM better in the original, and the scene where Lady and the Tramp used the beaver statue to remove the muzzle off of Lady in the remake was kinda awkward and inappropriate, I love better the original beaver scene when they asked a REAL beaver to help Lady off her muzzle. But still, I love both versions of the film as it is still my 2nd most favorite Disney classic of all time, thank you for sharing this!
The pound scene and Mufasa's death... These two scenes are the only two Disney scenes that still manages to depress me. And this aspect bothered me too in this film. It's like Pleasure Island in Pinocchio, we never get the conclusion of that part of the film. Then again, it is realistic, some people do get away with shady actions...
You can teach kids the reality, but cynicism isn't a healthy trait to pass on, we have to give them hope about bringing light to the world.
I guess. At least teach them that things like that don't have to happen.
Exactly, we should inspire them, not demotivate them.
they funnyest part of the film was Al the Alligator and Hyena(Ripper Roo ) scene
I had a feeling that this movie would be reviewed, especially after last year’s onslaught of pet centered Disney movies. Not that it’s a bad thing since I find them to be some of the best of the genre.
I love it, beautiful movie and classic animation, enchanting aesthetic, the rat, I love the rat lol, it represents evil and malevolent corruption of the cosy innocence of the world “peace my children, peace peace peeeeeeeace!!!” 💗
Good 😉
While Lady and the Tramp isn't one of my favourite Golden Age Disney films. I still like it for the most part.
Also, Pokemon 4Ever would be my choice if I was a patreon (which also means that it didn't win in the poll for the next Review Week).
correction sliver age
to me, lady and the tramp is old/true walt disney's finest work. very simple and yet very clever and beautiful.
Ah Yes this movie was my childhood! XD
Jambareeqi how many strawberries would you give this movie?
Great review! This is my favorite movie-Disney or otherwise.
This is definitely a vey special movie, one of my favorites from Disney's Silver Age. I found this video I think is worth watching that goes more into its development from the perspective of one of the most important men working for Walt Disney in the studio's army days, Joe Grant: czcams.com/video/gjJNjXzIw20/video.html. Apart from not getting a decent closure for all the sad impounded dogs (though sadly, I'm not even sure puppy adoption was something pounds did at the time), I think the only major problem with the movie is the stereotypical Siamese cats (which themselves,of course, were also a product of their time).
Even if adoption wasn't an option, the film could have at least had Tramp break the impounded dogs free or let them finish their tunnel, just something that doesn't leave things unwrapped. I also agree about the cats, really iffy to look back on.
That was such an awesome review jambareeqi! Very fitting of you to review this film when the new live action remake is coming out in November when Disney+ launches. I'm honestly dreading it to be honest but I'm glad it's not going to the cinemas. I also really hate how jock will be portrayed as female in this new movie too. As for next month, maybe steer clear of lady and the tramp 2 scamps adventure. The less said about that one the better...
I would like to see him review Pokemon 4Ever. One of my least favourite Pokemon movies (alongside The First Movie, 2000, and Hoopa).
I can shake off the dog pound and love the happy ending because that’s the darkest place and point in the story that Lady and Tramp narrowly managed to avoid and escape from, maybe it is little cold, but you’re meant to forget about that place 🤗
You're welcome to forget about it yourself, but I strongly disagree we are meant to forget it, Disney simply left a plot thread unwrapped. If we were meant to forget this scene, the film wouldn't have gone to great lengths to make us care about these poor dogs or develop a few impounds as sympathetic characters. There's being dark for a Disney movie, then there's being too nihilistic for what's supposed to be a family film.
I have spoken!! Lol you must feel the same about Pinocchio then :]
@@adamwatson2914 I think I do tbh
Well it`s got intensely dark sequences in it is also what I`m saying
@@adamwatson2914 Yep, it's problematic in that film too tbh, as we never return to the boys after their transformations.
Can you do top five worst and top five best MCU films
I think the straight to video Lady and the Tramp 2 shows at least Peg Maybe more.
ThePinkDragon peg’s not in the sequel.
This movie is so adorable
If you felt that way about the dogs in the pound in Lady and the Tramp, how did you feel about the kids turning into donkeys in Pinocchio not getting resolved? Did that bother you just as much? I personally thought the dark angles of Pinocchio worked much more to illustrate how scarring events of temptation can be for a child to the point of no return. That was a risk I’d personally say paid off a lot more than in Lady and the Tramp.
I love this film but I wish Walt Disney could have given a bit more details with the Dog pound and the romance but its still a fantastic film.
Lady and the Tramp does take place in the 1920's, pounds during that time were pretty cruel, so it makes sense why it will have that dark scene.
Again, it's realistic, but unnecessarily emotionally manipulative, because it doesn't go anywhere or have any payoff, it's sad for the sake of being sad.
I've been told it takes place in 1909 - 1910 but it's sprinkled with 50s elements.
I mean.... Pinocchio also had pressure island
In hindsight, the fact that "Pinocchio" doesn't show mercy to the boys by the end is a problem for me too.
haven’t seen this film since about 7
I loved this movie as a kid, it's the reason for me still wanting a cocker spaniel one day
What are your thoughts on the twin cats?
Outdated Asian stereotypes that are a product of the film's time, but still fantastic villains because we hate their malicious glee so much
Yes, I really wish the movie had a diferent end.
Awesome review Jam, Lady and the Tramp is one of the great animated classics from Walt Disney. Who agrees the original Lady and the Tramp is far superior to it’s sequel Scamp’s Adventure?
I do! Even as a kid, I vastly preferred the first movie, being a charming, if flawed in places, but ultimately sweet little flick. As for Scamp's Adventure, it's an obnoxious, hyperactive, patronizing and dull movie, which just exists as boring babysitter fodder.
Peter McAulay do you find lady and the tramp 2 to be a soulless cash grab?
Yes, what are your thoughts on it?
Peter McAulay it’s a guilty pleasure for me.
Why is that? And what do you think of 101 Dalmatians 2: Patch's London Adventure? It's a charming, funny, heartfelt movie, with likeable characters and in my honest opinion, an even better movie than the orginal!
Rock a doodle
I also loved lady and the tramp, great job on the video🖒. I personally thought the cats were real assholes.
Watch: Lady and the tramp 2
You didn't mention mention the racist Asian stereotypes that in full display through the twin cats.
I know, I wish I did
I personally disagree with your opinion on the ending
I like lady and the tramp lol 😂 it’s a beautiful 😍 movie lol 😂 I love 💕 lady lol 😂 she’s beautiful 😍 she’s cute 🥰 lol 😂 she’s my favorite lol 😂 I love 💕 cocker spaniel lol 😂
Book 2 of avater?
It's coming soon, had to keep pushing it forward for other videos.
@@Jambareeqi Danm it
Did you review book 1 of Avatar?
Yeah my mom had to keep our cats away from me when I was a baby because cats can kill baby's if the cat snuggles with baby so the aunt should keep her cats away from the baby.
Can u review my favorite movie of all time monsters University
Really oof
Spoiler warning really who hasn't seen this movie
I can get through the pound scene ok, but what I find messed up in this movie is the subtle hints of premarital doggy sex.
