      I was born in 89 and didn't start watching the NFL until 94. The first Super Bowl I can remember seeing was Cowboys vs Bills (first match). Since then, only Super Bowl 's 42, 43, and 49 come close in terms of roller coaster heart stopping suspense. Super Bowl 34 had a defensive battle, a brief offensive shootout, a brief blowout, at the time, the largest comeback, and it ended with a game saving tackle. In terms of competition, I have to agree with you, and even go as far as to say it's the best since the turn of the century

  • @ckendall67
    @ckendall67 Před 5 lety +39

    - Turned out to be a heck of a Super Bowl and a classic finish after the 1st-half was mostly a defensive struggle. But you still got the feeling this would eventually turn into a back-&-forth affair which it did during the 2nd half. Rams dominated early on the defensive side but the Titans showed how gutsy they were & battled back to draw even before Warner's MASSIVE throw to Issac Bruce to re-take the lead, then the defense once again had to step it up as the Titans were threatening to tie it at the very end. Never will forget Mike Jones making the game-saving tackle to preserve the Rams' 1st Super Bowl win. Definitely one of the more memorable Super Bowls for sure. I honestly believe it was this Super Bowl that began the recent chain of classic Super Bowls, as before this game many of the Super Bowls played over the previous 10-15 years had failed to deliver as far as excitement & nail-biting finishes go. Ever since this game it sure has felt like just about every Super Bowl( with the exception of a couple games )has been exciting right to the very end. :-)

    As strange as it is, it has so much in common with the Pats win over the Seahawks. Even the plays that preceded the last plays were awesome. McNair escaping to throw to Dyson and Wilson making the awesome play to Kearse to set up their ultimate blunder. Both happened at the END of the game and with everything on the line. Both were off the charts moments.
    I'm a long time Rams fan and this moment and this tackle was like some amazing moment for me.

    I was a diehard 8 year old Titans fan that grew up in Nashville. I legitimately cried myself to sleep that night. This game will forever be seared into my memory. To this day I still swell up with pride over McNair's heroic effort when I rewatch this highlight. It was a real life Friday Night Lights ending.

    As a Titans fan this one still hurts. It stings less though because of who we actually lost to. Rams were a great bunch and Vermail is a class act. Our team was great but that Rams team was legendary. Things are finally looking up for us Titans though!

      When the King returns, they should be back in the big dance...I'm crossing my fingers, but I'm hoping it's Titans vs Cowboys for the superbowl this year - 2 great teams, and 2 great stories...the 'overlooked' Titans fooled everyone!! Dak's return from a broken leg...I mean, they make movies outta stuff like that! I don't know if my Boyz could handle the Titans (ahem...Oilers!!), but we'll try!

    Mannn! I remember watching this super bowl. Prolly one of the best I can remember. I was a huge St. Louis Rams fan growing up. My little league team was called the rams. And Kurt Warner and his story just compelled me too be a big fan. And he was a known Christian. Had too go for him. Glad he won at least one super bowl! But sorry tomorrow Brady is gonna beat the new Rams team.

      LA REPPIN Lakers/Rams #NOBANDWAGONS he had a well publicized feud with Boomer Esiason and this was their last game together. Right before that crazy McNair scramble at the end Michaels and Boomer argued on-air about whether the Titans should save a timeout. As it turns out saving the timeout (which Michaels had advocated for) saved the Titans ass. Michaels later trashed Esiason in his book

    Amazing that this was the team that got there, a young, inexperienced, but hungry football team. They spent every year after this trying to repeat this, but couldn't ever get back here. Sad to see that squad come so close but never get another chance.

    10:40 The Bruce touchdown was the epitome of the Rams entire 1999 season offensively. The pyrotechnics in the background even summed them up. 10:54 EXPLOSIVE. You're team could fight like hell, all game, then BANG, one play, game over. Just ask the 99 Bucs
