I think your sources are incorrect Fox in regards to where he was on the coach list. You also never mention the PL clubs that offered him a job prior to Spurs. Such laziness considering this is one of the best sporting moments of Australian Sport history.

I’m sick of this narrative being perpetuated about Ange not being on the shortlist. He was always considered, perhaps not tip top of the list but Poch was never approached, Slot capitalised on media chatter of him going to Spurs to better his contract with Feyenoord. Spurs never commenced talks with Slot.
Spurs also had the chance to hire Luis Enrique but they actually turned him down! None of this will be of interest to Ange. His got the job now and will give it his all, but come on. Retelling this false narrative of Ange never being a real candidate is utter nonsense

@@andrewray9200 in what time spurs were in need to be saved? Enic bought the whole shares for merely 300 millions and now the club is worth 4 billions plus. They haven’t spent a dime to buy players. All those money to buy players are generated from the clubs revenue.
Top of that spurs has the most balanced book given the expense and revenue ratio and Enic makes profit from the sales. Spurs won 8 FA cups before Enic. How many they won now? 22 years and one league cup and a club worth 4 billions and with that history? Are you happy with that? Also that stadium has a billions pound loan and basically fans are paying it back. So what did Levy do for the club? Anyone could of done that isn’t? Club is based on London and it’s prime time to generate money! Levy has golf, and amenities that is generating him money. Not for footballing reasons.

Ange carries an aura that infects every club he coaches. He brings in an exciting brand of football that is good for Spurs and the PL. It's a tricky situation but I'd like nothing than to see Ange prove his doubters wrong.. Prepare those humble pies

@@bravochamp9495 When Ange was in Yokohama, he was defeated to K-league Suwon Samsung in ACL that ranked 8th among 12 teams. He also defeated to South Korea national team in Asian Cup 2015 Group A. Korea's head coach was Ulie Shutielike who was the worst manager in Korea team.(Korea may not have qualified in 2018 world cup because of him.) He didn't win well ACL and UCL, just do well in SPL and J-league. It may be questioned that TOT appointed him to PL coach.

Ange was lot higher on the list than that - spurs never were interested in rehiring poch they spoke once with nagelsman and Enrique who said never contacted him back - Arne slot spoke to but never offered a deal and his agent used the one contact to get a better deal of feyernord - ange agent said been speaking for over a month so he was def on the shortlist and prob no1 choice for Scott munn spurs new cfo but they waited till end of season out of respect to Celtic - know ray they approached him on Sunday and he signed on Monday and announced tues def in work for a while

2 pieces of this article are completely incorrect. Ange was not way down the list of candidates, Spurs did not pursue Poch or Nagelsmann. By all accounts he was high on the list with Slot and Enrique from the beginning. Secondly, the reaction of Spurs fans have been overwhelmingly positive. As you correctly say, Twitter is not representative of anything

Look, I'm a passionate Tottenham supporter, I have been for 40 years. I lived over there and went to every game.
The way the Australian media is hyping it up, it's nice, but I don't know, maybe needs to be a bit more "wait and see" a bit.
I could easily see Nuno number two. Before we hired Conte (who was Levys first choice at the time) Levy couldn't get Conte, so he hired Nuno from Wolves. 6 games games in he was gone, and it wasn't even the worst start, it wasn't the best, but he had been winning games.
And then Conte was in the door.
This time Nagelsmann was Levys first choice, but that never happened, but I wouldn't be surprised if Levy still has him on speed dial.
Ange is going into a pressure cooker,he hasn't really got time for a slow start, like he had at Celtic with 4 losses in his first 6 games. He does that, yeah, Levy will be twitching.
The current team is just not set up for Ange at all either. Since Poch, we've had a string of famously "park the bus" defensive managers, who have very poorly built to suit that style.
We have no ball players in the middle of the park, no creativity what soever, not one of outer poor defenders knows how to pass the ball, so not going to be good playing it out from the vack to a midfield who don't know how to control possession and pass.
And then our attackers, no matter how good they are, aren't the types to put pressure on from the front.
It's not just a matter of coming in and getting guys to believe in you and play your style, he really does need a complete rebuild.
If Levy wouldn't give Jose or Conte the keys to the house to buy everything they need, I don't see why he would with Ange.

Just remember though, a manager has a shelf life based on the perception of his personality (their Aura). Everytime a manager acts the way the sneaky Greek acted, they lose a little bit of their aura and that's all he has when trying to get players to buy into his message. Ane Slot did what Ten Haag did back in 2021 and just used the name of Tottenham Hotspurs to get an improved deal at Feyenord.... Nagelsman was never approached either because he had a massive buy out clause of £10 Million from Byern Munich because he was only placed on gardening leave. Even so Naglemans got the sack because his wife was leaking the team sheet to the opposition every week. The big BUT here is... you don't just interview 1 person for a mangerial role do you?
