English soccer fans are famously passionate, opinionated and knowledgeable. But despite their devotion to the game, until very recently few knew of or cared about Ange Postecoglou.
Today it’s a different story. Ange is the first Australian ever to be signed up as the boss of an English Premier League team. But he’s in for a tough time because his new club, Tottenham Hotspur, has been a disaster of late. In desperation the team is hoping the Aussie’s fast and furious style of play, something called Ange-ball, will be what’s needed to turn Spurs’ disappointment into triumph.

Kane is on his way out, their defence is a laughing stock, they're unloading players...one to Spartak Moscow I believe and their 'owner' has just been indicted on federal charges in the USA. James Maddison has a lot of hard graft on his hands. They'll win nothing this season.

Celts fan here. This man is successful EVERYWHERE he goes. Take it from me. His entire philosophy and his personality are just infectious AF. The guy is something special. Unique. Enjoy the ride, Spurs. 🏆🇦🇺

@@NUFCOfficial Are you serious? He won the Asian Cup, he then went onto qualify Oz for the next World Cup then he left before it happened. That's success.
He's managed a lot more than "2 clubs" and lufted silverware at all of them.
At S. Melbourne he won NSL Prem once and the Champ twice.
At the Roar, he won the A League Prem and the A League Champ. He won at least 7 honours between managing the Oz unders, before his senior success.
Yokohama after that and won them their first title in 15 years. That was a salary-capped league BTW ehich just showed how good a coach he is. His work at Celtic just speaks for itself.

Anyone can win in the Scottish League it's a two horse race for the pass 50 yrs or so the EPL it's a different horse race a proper league a proper competition.

This guy is total class. I'm a Celtic fan and gutted he left. I will be supporting Spurs this season as I'm just so grateful for the two years of success he brought to our club. Legend and he'll prove it down south too the same way Larsson did to all the doubters.
I love that he says my last job is gonna be on a Greek island somewhere, always got his feet firmly on the ground and knows exactly where his roots are, no delusions of grandeur at all 🙌
Spurs are historically linked with beautiful football. We are a massive club who are a top four club if you count the amount of years spent at the top tier and the amount of points scored. We aren't owned by the richest in comparison but we have earned our place in the big six, despite what people say. We fill our ground every home game and even filled Wembley when it was being built, while a certain Manchester club can hardly fill their own. We are far from a club in crisis. We didn't qualify for Europe, but its hardly a crisis. What I get from Ange, that I rate above any of our previous managers, just within his first few interviews and this includes Pochettino. Is what a fantastic communicator he is, Full of self belief while grounded at the same time. Surely this will resonate with the team. It's starting to with me and I've never met the guy! I'm more excited to see him have a go at the Tottenham job than Mourinho or Conte. I can't wait to see us going toe to toe with the best teams out there again, instead of waiting for them to make a mistake. This is all we wanted, thank you Ange. COYS!

Bollock comment that Ange was a villain for leaving Celtic. That was the dominant hun media that cast that thought. Every Celtic supporter wished him the best because we understand how are club works. Bring in players and managers that will eventually leave for potentially better skies. We understand that transition and we always salute it when it’s done in a proper manner. Ange left the proper way. God love him and I, as well as the majority of Celtic supporters do. As the man. It’s a simple question. Do you feel like Celtic supporters hate you? The answer is no. He is a mate for life and he bloody well knows it. He’s smart enough to deflect and not give a response to ridiculous media tripe. Mon the Hoops Ange!! Take Spurs back up the ladder big man. I’ll be watching. ❤

Yeah, I'm sure most Celtic fans aren't naive, and realise an ambitious manager will look to eventually go to EPL, La Liga, Bundesliga, Serie A etc.
I hope that he will succeed at Spurs and i hope that football will be big sport in Australia one day !

Been an Australian Spurs fan since the mid 80's and I'm so nervous for Ange but so damn proud at the same time. To the England based Spurs fans who are no doubt skeptical about him, please allow this man the time he needs to get us where we want to be, and he will get us there.

I’m a Celtic fan and I’d say actually look what he done in 2 years at Celtic he inherited a team most players apart from a couple wanted away from the club. He rebuilt Celtic with 2 transfer windows. First couple of weeks was very rocky but he was only just in the door about 1 week before first game, we won a league that seems out of touch and a league cup so that was successful. Second season was a season to dream about a treble he’s completed Scottish football.
I’m happy he got a team that’s top 10 and not one of the smaller English clubs that’s only in as to make up the numbers he’s got a very big team.

What gets overlooked is his man management, hes exactly the type of character Spurs needs as a manager. A father figure but also a no-nonsense type of guy, Jose & Conte were too much the disciplinarians, Jose would be a father figure for some and too harsh on others.

Having grown up in Cheshunt in the 70s and 80s when I used to bunk under the fence to watch Ossie, Ricky, Glenn Hoddle, Archibald, Perryman (plus endless other legends, like Barry Daines and uhhh... Alan Brazil) train and to get their autographs and have a chat. (cos you could in those days), I also lived in Australia from 1989 - 2005 and then again from 2010 -2018. I've been following Big Ange's career for many years now (when I lived in Melbourne) and believe me, he's the REAL FUGGIN' DEAL. Time to get excited again people. Big Ange will win us a trophy or two. I even stuck a tenner on us winning the league in the next three seasons yesterday, although that might be pushing my optimism a tad. #COYS
