Yes the market has food and vegetables stands, and they are actually near the little bridge that goes to the fortress. When you went down the stairs you should have gone to the right, instead of to the left, and you would have found the food.

In Italy almost all municipalities have a website, to find out about events and many other useful news such as markets just type municipio di .... In larger cities each neighborhood has its own market and food markets often have a dedicated day other than clothing and housewares. In Siena the food market should be on Tuesdays from 8.30am to 2.00pm.
Been a while since I watched one of your videos due to a lack of free time. Graduating from college soon so now that free time is coming back!
The food part is on the right hand side of the entrance to the Fortezza. You went down the stairs and turned left (where the public toilets are), should have walked under the bridge and would have found more flowers, plants as well as food and drinks.
Siena's Wednesday Market is in the Fortezza car park, with a bit of an overspill into La Lizza. It's mostly clothing, handbags, belts. Not the place to go food shopping.
Thank you for this one, I enjoyed seeing the market and loved that you slowed down and showed the different merchandise that they were selling, this was great!!!!
