  • It's all apart of the backpacking experience, right? The long bus rides, long flights, bullet trains, commuter trains, and of course, overnight trains! This 12 hour journey was one for the books and a reminder of how creative you can get while traveling through South East Asia. This is our experience.

Lots of firsts, including the class. You guys are fun. Subed to follow along and support. We are planning an overnight train from Hanoi to Hue. We are headed back to Asia in August and will be here as part of it. As anthropologists and park rangers we love to see and share the history, culture, and nature that makes our World so amazing. I hope we can share some travel inspiration with you too soon. - Turtle

@@onebagoneworld I loved Thailand, Nepal, and Cambodia my first time in Asia. I do think it is an amazing, diverse continent and cannot wait to get back. I hope our European and Latin American vlogs are inspirational for your travel plans, and I wish you an amazing 2023. - Turtle

When did you book the tickets (how many days in advance?)
For some reason, when I check the baolau website today, it still says that seats (tickets) for the SE20 overnight train for tomorow from Huế to NB is still not open yet.
Same thing for any other travel dates (2, 3, 4 days from now, even one, two weeks from now).
    Thanks.

That's strange for us it worked a couple of days/ 1 week I'm advance. You can also check 12go.asia to compare it's only maybe a dollar more to book through them

Hey Paul! Thanks for watching, you are free to interpret it however you want. I think one of the difficult parts of international travel is because you can afford something, should you pay the higher price? It's like the tuk tuks in thailand, negotiating is just part of the game. If you walk up and pay full price you are, no offense, an idiot. Im not saying you need to fight over every cent, it means a lot more to the locals than to you most likely, but there is a dance to dance and anyone who has spent any time traveling should understand this. It's fair to say something is expensive relative to the prices we have seen elsewhere over the course of 3 weeks. But again, you are free to interpret this as you see fit, just glad you watched!
