    Awesome explanation no doubt ! All I had to do on my 2023 iron , was a quick headlight unplug , take out the housing , take out the trim , and install grill , didn’t have to remove no tank nor seat

    This is an excellent video. I followed your instructions to the letter on my 2019 Iron 883. Took me about 45 minutes. You may not be a mechanic, but you have a gift for explaining things.

    Just to save everyone a headache there is one that fits much easier. Instead of having to unbolt stuff and take out wires and mess with the fuel pump, this one I just found slips right on. All you do with this one is unscrew this part at 5:27. Then after that the headlight grill I just bought comes with its own part that screws onto the light, just like the one removed at 5:27, then the grill bolts on to the new part that screwed onto the light. Its very easy to install, takes about 30 seconds and only tool you need is a screw driver.

    Sucks you had to take your light off. I managed to get mine on without removing anything but the silver light mount. All you have to do is put the back grill piece around the light diagonally and it slips right on.

      nicholas dube very true!!! I’m glad I looked at you post I have a 2020 883 and all I had to do was remove the ring off light, take the light out the noches and the grill ring slides on with LITTLE force. Only tools I needed was Phillips head screwdriver :) hope it helps anyone!

    Great clip mate, love the kid sneaking by in the background! Very informative and amusing.
    Got a got the same headlight grill for mine however could not get it tight enough. The whole grill and backing plate were rattling. I unscrewed the grill, used superglue to stick a small coin onto the HD logo of the headlight. This gave me the extra thread space to get it all tight as a tick.

    Why do you remove the fuse? And why do you remove the fuel line? Seems like the line is long enough?

    do you have any feedback after riding with it? I did install mine, but it does not hold the headlight in place, I even tried already some sealing rubber pads. It trembles and make noise, so I am not sure if I should continue tinker it further or just get rid of it. Seems that bad-ass look piece was not thoroughly thought of during manufacturing.

    Hi, me on a forty eight, I disassembled the headlight, put my grille through the back, but I find that once mounted the grille is really close to the headlight (original) and suddenly I'm a little afraid of tighten harder and fear that with the vibrations I will crack the glass. Does anyone have the same problem?

  • @TalismanRocks
    @TalismanRocks Před 5 lety +1

    The grill really makes the bike look bad a$$. I'm thinking about adding one to my bike. Question, does it affect the light output? I mean, while driving at night do you see the grill slots in the beam of light or is the light output unaffected? Thanks!
