1. Tall variety of coffee cannot be done inside rubber plantation.
2. To plant coffee inside rubber plantation, please choose Roy's Selection from Pulpally Waynad which is short and manageable inside rubber plantation with minimal care required.

@@pauljoseph9405 1. Even though Roy's Selection is from Waynad, planting has been done in State Farming Corporation's rubber estates situated between Pathanapuram and Punalur in Kollam district. That area is known to be particularly hot during summer.
2. Roy's Selection coffee plants typically require overhead shade trees for optimal performance. The more the shade, the better the coffee plant's performance.
3. Among rubber trees, shade availability is as follows. RRII-105 > RRII-414 > RRII-430.
4. RRII-414 and RRII-430 will support creeper vines like black pepper below the crown, to enhance shade and lower surrounding temperature for coffee. RRII-105 has a higher incidence of fungal attacks below the crown, and therefore is not advisable for hosting creeper vines.
5. Irrespective of the variety of rubber tree planted, additional shade from sunlight and cooling effect can be provided for coffee by planting പയ്യാനി/ആഴാന്ത in the 20/22 feet gap between rubber trees to host creeper vines.
