Enjoy your channel but why don't any of you address the issue of what to do if you specifically have Type 2 diabetes or insulin resistance? And MANY over 40's have metabolic issues of one kind or another. I have to do low carb to keep this in check and this goes way beyond low GI carbs - I need to work at almost keto levels ie 50g carbs per day. I do employ carb cycling but it's a really delicate balance. I am currently 17% body fat and would like to get this to 13% without muscle loss. So I work in a calorie deficit but keep protein around 1g per lb body weight. And my results are good training 3x a week with fairly high intensity and walking on all the other days.

This is too complex for me. I'm 45 and I've always had a problem gaining weight. Can't put on the pounds.I would need a book or list of exactly what to eat to put on the weight. All the training in the world won't help without the weight to go with it.

I am 66 and I exercise at home for one hour a day 7 days a week. One of the things I do is 100 pushups every day. What I find is so helpful is that it builds your heart strength. Your heart is what determines most of what you can or can not do. It's is NOT just muscle. Build your heart strength and this applies at any age. You could be 15 and not be able to make it once around your school track. That is your heart at 15 !!

@@rontate7719 We are the exact same height and weight. I started with 5, but I did 5 sets of 5 and I did it every day and the five sets had to be completed within the entire day. So not too difficult. Then I eventually got to 5 sets of 20 within the whole day. Now I am at 4 sets of 25 in ten minutes. The trick I think is not to make it to difficult, BUT to do it every day 7 days a week. They say not to do that because your muscles need a rest. Well, I had no problem because I didn't beat myself up like you would with a trainer in a gym 3 days a week and pushup are very cardio intensive so it is wonderful for your heart and so I was comfortable doing it every day. This way I get in 700 push ups a week. Try that with a trainer in a gym three days a week!!! My goal is two sets of 50 in under 5 minutes total. I can presently do 42 pushups without stopping in one set. Remember, I started with only 5 and I have done more then 8,000 pushups to get to this point. Do a little bit, day in and day out and you will be amazed in a few months. One side note... the most pushups I could do 40 YEARS AGO was 35 at a time and now at 66 I can do 42 without stopping. Pretty cool! Good luck !!

I eat very well (healthy) and sleep 7-8 hours each night. Ok, doing everything right, but I cannot lose the belly fat enough to display the abs?? I can see my obliges with definition but no abs ?? Help! Need a video on just targeting the small area of belly fat? Thanks. Eric

The human body can run on two kinds of fuel. Carbohydrates or short to mid-chain fatty acids. Last summer I wanted to loose more weight so I put a table soon of coconut oil, cold pressed not processed, in my black coffee every morning ,sometimes 2 and when I worked out I would take a spoon full about 15 min. before I would start. You do not digest it like regular food. In 10 min. as soon as the oil hits your liver it is sent to you body and brain. It will also kill your appetite and that's a big help. It will also help your memory. I'm going on 72 in a few months. I had to rethink everything because of my age. You might want to consider Creatine as a supplement, this stuff works but be careful at your age your strength will go up fast from using this stuff so don't push ahead too fast. There is other things I can tell you but I don't know what you already know. Lifting after 70 is a whole new ball game. Nobody knows this until they get there.

I'm 61 and have a thin layer of fat not a belly of it like you see on a lot of men of all ages. Have I tried to eliminate all of my sugar intake..no. I enjoy a little bit of the sweet stuff but I do stay away from bread and pasta and potatoes. I live in Florida and work out outside and soon the heat will be here and I'll see if it will help. I added more lower back exercises with my newly purchased Roman chair and started to work on my abs . Other than the little fat around my waste ..little fat .. I'm very muscular built at 5'10 210lbs and I can live with that little bit of fat .

Also a good tip when you are olden: do not mix carbs with fats. Go either carb-protein, or fat-protein. Mixing carbs with fats will make you fat when you metabolism slows down. Thanks for the video.

Hard to do plant based, the problem isn't in what's on the label, it's the absorption rates of plant protein vs animal. You should consider adding eggs at least. But from what I understand pea protein is supposed to be the best plant based protein if you have to go that route.

Tofu, tempeh, seitan, textured vegetable protein (TVP), nutritional yeast, lentils, and maybe a plant based protein powder, all in addition to all the other carbohydrate-rich plants that have protein like beans and whole grains and all the fat-rich sources of protein like nuts and seeds.
As a 15 year vegan I can say that it’s quite easy to get enough protein.
