    I was there in person. When each score came up on the board, the placement number was right beside it! Every person there, including her coaches, could see she qualified in 4th. If her coaches say they didn't know it, then they were NOT paying attention.

    Submitting the Inquiry when she was already in EF with the 4th qualifying score was beyond stupid. With that being said, her ring leaps have always been iffy. I *really* hope she works to get those leaps looking as beautiful as the rest of the routine. The judges were a bit strict, but the beam judges were brutal in all of Qualifying. Maybe in EF should would have gotten credit. She was in the last subdivision, so there was literally no point in the inquiry.

    I'm no expert, but I have to agree with the downgrade. Kara has lovely rhythm, and the way she truly dance across the beam is great to watch, but her ring leaps are a serious issue. She does not hit them consistently, and even when she does hit, it's only just barely. As frustrating as this is for her, I hope she and her coaches can learn from it and either work hard to get the ring leaps to look the way they should, or replace them with a different element that she isn't so iffy on.

    My friend sent me the inquiry rule. It says the score can be held, moved up or moved down. You don't get to keep the same score and hope it goes up. Everything is tossed back and recalculated from scratch.

For example, here Kara's rings were probably downgraded to split leaps because her back foot was lower than shoulder level. But if the E-panel thought she received credit for a ring (judged her foot at or above shoulder level), they should have deducted for foot at or below head level and insufficient arch/head release. And because you can't repeat a skill more than once (which is what the red means), her switch leap that was meant to be in her leap combo wasn't counted because she "had already done one". So that skill wasn't counted so she had no leap combo

      A leap/dance series ... You cannot use a repeated skill to fulfill a composition requirement

    Why is her composition score only a 1.5 instead of 2.0? What did she not do to qualify for that extra 0.5?

    • @MultiChantal22
      @MultiChantal22 Před 4 lety +3

      Her supposedly "switch ring" has been downgraded to a "switch leap" only. And she use switch leap to fullfil 2 dance elements (switch + switch 1/4). And the COP states that you cannot repeat a skill to fulfill CR (if she had done the leap series first, or got the switch ring credited, she would've got that additional 0.5 CR)

      Her switch ring got downgraded to a switch split, so her *actual* switch split later got thrown out as a "repeated" skill -- basically, they treated it as if she hadn't done it at all. Since that was part of one of her requirements, she didn't get credit for that requirement.
