Matcha for Peace Project

The process and the work on this "Matcha for peace" project started in early September 2022. The outcome is this short film, made with effort, love and hope for a better future by 17 people from all over the world. Teachers and students of the 3 Chanoyu schools (Omotesenke, Urasenke, and Ueda Soko Ryu), matcha lovers, tea culture lovers, artists, ... people. People that share the same passion but most of all, crave peace. They gathered together to show how tea can connect every person around the globe, going beyond boundaries and difficulties, for a greater purpose: peace.

“The main message for us, and what inspired us to participate- is connection, from heart to heart, from soul to soul. We saw a true value of support and efficient communication while surviving wartime here in Ukraine, and we feel the connection beyond distance and time through this bowl of matcha in each one’s hands.We all are different and there’s a lot of beauty in it, and we all are people, moving by will for better world.
