- The impossible has happened! Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask have finally been combined to make the ultimate Legend of Zelda Randomizer experience.
By combining the two games, you'll be finding items in Ocarina of Time which could be for Majora's Mask or vice versa, the two games are also randomized on top of that to sweeten the deal. How does the game swapping work? All will be revealed in the video.
To top things off, this randomizer was set to the maximum difficulty making finding items even harder but max settings is always a fun time.

I mean, the portal to Termina should clearly be in the Lost Woods but I don't care, just getting the two to play nicely is an achievement that defies all scrutiny.

I know for cannon reasons lost Woods should be the warp for mm but happy mask is such mote fitting is it not 😁❤️❤️ I have played every zelda game even the cdi games so this is not coming from a casual zelda fan

i remember in 2018 there was a run performed at gdq of a randomizer that merged Zelda: A link to the past and Super Metroid, that was even more out there to be honest
Maybe someday we’ll be able to do this with BOTW and TOTK

Fun fact! The reason you can climb that wall on death mountain pass to grab the skulltula token check is because the ladder texture is invisible. If you use the lens of truth there it reveals one of those metal bar ladders hidden at the back.

I like the idea of a game having two completely different worlds in terms of style, story and characters, with both being only loosely connected but both requiring saving. Maybe even have the player choose one to beat first, dooming the other, until you get the true ending to save both.
Kinda sounds like a Zero Escape game, or no-one has to die.
I'm appalled that Smiffic doesn't have a rank as a more popular LoZ CZcamsr. Seriously, you're the only Zelda content creator that I will ever watch back to back, front to front

This was really fun to watch! I'd never actually seen a zelda game randomiser before, this is the first playthrough of one I've seen, though I did know they exist. The way OoT and MM were combined into one game was also really cool. I'm glad you linked to the randomiser because it looks super fun!

I'm a little disappointed the items aren't shared between games.

I can see this being a cool and unique timeline. In this version of the game(s), Hyrule and Termina’s connection is more well-known, which leads to Ganondorf and Majora declaring war on eachother. In Ocarina of Mask, they present equal threats. In games happening after it, Majora inherits the mantle of Demise’s curse, with all three of the Triforce’s chosen being playable characters.
I don't know if I ever clicked on a video because the thumbnail was so awesome.

This was a cool experience, I wonder what a HARD or UNLUCKY run would look like or are there so many good items that a long or unlucky run would be unlikely?
I've had a few since and it's a killer 😆 I've had to find the remains a few good times to get onto the moon to then find key items needed to actually get OoT going

i wonder if this randomizers have a failsafe, so an item isn't locked behind something you'd need it for
for example, you'd have to heal Darmani's soul, to obtain Lens of truth
Funnily enough it does! Randomizers typically have something called logic. A means to make sure the player can beat the seed without getting locked out of an item 😄 However you can play a no logic seed which throws that out the window and could result in your example 😆

@@ChomperRex20 Yup! it's possible, usually you use every glitch under the sun during a no logic run to prevent this but it's possible 😄

I'd like that the only way to arrive at Termina was through the forest just like Link did in the mm's intro. I'd like the modder do that, it will give at the game a better conextion feeling than just using the mask shop

I've seen you do three challenge runs for Majora's Mask now (counting this one). I'm curious if you've ever done a minimalist run. A glitchless run where you collect the bare minimum resources. For example, even though you could probably get through the game without Ice Arrows, that would require fancy tricks and/or glitches, so they're required. However, Heart Pieces, Heart Containers, more than one Bottle, Stray Fairies (and their rewards), and so are not necessary, and therefore banned from being collected. Not to be completely heartless (no pun intended), I would say you're allowed to use a fairy in your one bottle, giving you a total of six hearts max. Some unnecessary things are near impossible to avoid (like Deku Nuts), but you're still not allowed to use them.
I've done this, but I had to get the Heart Containers from bosses, which still only gave me 7*2 hearts max, but still...
