My dad has told him to change the oil countless times but he kept driving saying to my dad he'll do it soon. Later it got rod knock and my older brother is blaming the car for "being old." The engine bay and the engine were still pretty clean and taken good care of.

This reminds me, few years ago. My father had this pickup for yard work and that sort of thing, and my sister didn't have a car so she started driving it regularly. Then, my car went in for repair so i took it out just for some quick errands.
I was about 4-5 miles out, i noticed the engine temp was all the way up so i pulled over. Opened the hood and check the oil, bone dry. It leaked oil. She never bothered with it. So hot summer day i parked in the side of the road for a couple hours before my brother showed up and i tried putting oil in there.
It was already too late. A mile down the road and suddenly it over heated and pissed coolant all over the road. Thing was dead. I insisted that I'm not taking the blame, it didn't leak all it's oil out in the 5 minutes i drove it.
This is why i don't loan my vehicles to anyone. I don't let others drive my car, unless they're a mechanic or someone i know who will not beat on the thing. If a car leaks oil. Check it constantly otherwise it will go to the junkyard. I liked that truck too.

My mom had a Dodge Omni in the early 90s. (The sound in this video is just a normal Dodge thing.) As soon as the warranty was up, she ditched that pile of crap for a 1997 Toyota Corolla. Then, she got a 2004 Toyota Corolla S. Then, she got a 2016 Toyota Corolla S. The reason she replaced the '97 was because it was more for flat land than for the mountains (3-speed automatic, yeah it was a dog about acceleration but it never stranded her). The '04 was finally done after 360K miles and that was only because of an erroneous "check engine" light that was linked to the transmission supposedly "having trouble with overdrive" (it shifted and drove JUST FINE). She's racked up over 170K on her 2016 Corolla S, and let me tell you: it's not needed a single repair. Just standard maintenance, like brakes and spark plugs. 7-speed automatic and boy that thing is FUN to drive! You can put it in manual mode and shift gears with steering wheel paddles (if it's too risky to shift into a gear, the car simply does a beep-beep sound, thank goodness for rev limiters).
Still, the best car out there is a 1994 Toyota Celica. (Yes, I watch Scotty Kilmer, but he honestly tells us everything we already know lol)

My mom had a 2007 Dodge Caliber and that car would go 30k miles between oil changes because my mom COMPLETELY neglects car maintenance. So of course she wasn't doing any of the other stuff either. That car kept going and going. The engine FINALLY blew from all that abuse at 105k. Mind you, she floors the gas pedal on her cars and drives them as hard as she possibly can because she's always running late and before her, it was a rental car - and we know how abused those are. So 105k miles of sheer abuse and neglect and it FINALLY blew. I can only imagine how well it would have held up WITH proper maintenance and if it had been treated as a 4 cylinder car instead of being treated like it was a Mitsubishi Evo.
Now that Fiat owns Dodge/Chrysler, NOW I'm sure its crap quality.
