I got one and by now you should too, its relatively affordable. I installed a F405 ctr FC, 40 amp ESC, 2750kv motor and a 5045 prop. What do you think?

If you go to the RMRC version, know as the recruit, you will get a gyro included. Just a thought, also I think you can buy the gyro separately if you want, just alittle help for people who might want a gyro unit with this wing.

Just did a maiden with a ar classic with racestar wing nano fc, elrs, and a 3000mah lionpack. Flew fantastic. Slow but efficient.

Nice review! Very detailed, especially the explanation of build quality etc. That EPP foam is tough stuff! This thing looks like a blast, need to pick one up! I already have too much stuff on my Christmas list, maybe for my birthday instead ;)

If I didn't have the Shadow 800 sitting there waiting for a maiden I would get one, love the big bay and better slow speed stability you demonstrated on this.. nice review man.
60 bucks on banggood. Might asweel have a backup because you know that shadow hit the ground hard first flight
Just got mine put together and basic setup flysky. I wish I had grass fields! Where I live its all rocks and sand! Mine might not look as pretty after the maiden? LOL!

Hi Justin, did you plug the 2s batteries directly onto the vtx? Isn't there to much power coming from the batterie? Btw: awesome video as always

What stick ends do you have on the Taranis? I really like the looks of them and my ::cough:: older thumbs could use something like this... or do you recommend another stick tip, since this is an older video??
I know you don't want to land on antennas but does it help with reception to have the antenna sticking out the bottom of the plane since it's the bottom of the plane facing the pilot?
It does yes. Sometimes depending on the plane I do one up one down.
Hey Justin any advice. I’m finding this wing near impossible to fly. I’ve had rc plane experience before not a whole lot though but I can’t keep this wing flying for more than a couple seconds and it goes totally out of my control. It almost feels like it’s to heavy

Really late, but it could be the center of gravity is too far rearward and that's making it unstable.
You should be able to balance it on those two marks on the underside labeled "CG," if the balance point is behind those marks try moving the battery or other heavy items further forward in the cabin.
There's very little info about the controller on this one. What're you getting form the GPS?

I'm in a similar situation. I'm wondering if it's still good for the price or if something better has came along. As far as I've found though it still looks great for the price.
I am having a blast flying around, I have a matek 411 wse in it now and I am working on getting GPS in it for I can launch it easyer.
@@johncarold did you end up going with the PNP version or kit? And which battery do you recommend starting with? I have a bunch of 4s 1350mah packs that I could use (those are what I've been using for my quads). Also did you find a sim helpful? I used DRL before starting with drones and it helped a TON. But from the googling I've done, I haven't seen a sim that seems to have wings. I haven't flown a plane or wing before lol. So I'd like to get some time in a sim before I destroy a real one if possible.
I got the PNP, I didn't feel like putting it all together but I went with 3s and 2200 mAh GNB

What motor prop combo did you go with and what kind of flight time did you get on the 1500mha?
any issue with not enough air flow over the VTX being inside a Styrofoam incubator? I have a TBS Unify Pro HV. I haven't flown my ARWing yet. Going to try to maiden this weekend with the VTX at 800mw. I like the clean look of the VTX inside the fuselage but worried about heat.

The motor that it comes with has a 5mm shaft and the 6-inch prop it comes with has a 6 or maybe 7 mm shaft... Am I missing something?

@drone Camps! ive been flying wings on and off throughout my life a decided this is going to be my first fpv wing. I want a budget friendly long range setup, any suggestions? ps id need the lot goggles, transmitter options and all.
A good beginner goggle is EV800D. I use it too :)

What size battery (mAh) were you using and how long flight time do you get? I've built several Flite Test wings for FPV and my latest version of their Spear I can get over 10min flights on a 3S 2200mAh. And at ~$2 an airframe I find it hard to pull the trigger on one of these foam ones. Good review, definitely has me considering this one.

This wing looks fanstastic but its not for a newby ..i ,ve got s800 and mini ar wing and couldnt even to fly ,so its so difficult to configure and control in the air ,not for everyone who wish to fly ...Definetely not for begginers i think
I was planning on putting a runcam 2 split on it. That would mean no Go Pro. So you mention it needs the Go Pro for CG. How about just glue 120 grams worth of washers in the nose since a Go Pro weighs in at about 117 grams?
You could take a bigger battery insted of useless weight
Or there's always the option of throwing in a flight controller and living that Relaxed Stability life.

You need to calibrate your esc. Look up an esc calibration video bro

+Roberto Garcia I do because I’ve own an S800. There was a lot more to do to get it flying. The AR Wing is just an easy process. A little larger wing also than the s800. Which helps.

This wing is not a smooth ride at all, I thought it was me but if you notice his FPV footage is jumping all over. so be aware of that before you buy it.

That’s the best way to learn to fly. Stabilization is a false sense of actually controlling an aircraft.

It's easy to fly when you have an fpv cam. You don't need stabilization since you can see the orientation from the cockpit.
90% of the time I'm thumbs down. This video is great. Many levels. I started with the string tiny planes. I'm 52 now. These VR cams are my dream. Wish there was a store to see it first hand.
I have both 4S and 3S batteries. What do I need to make it randomly interchangeable without changing a lot of things everytime.
Mathijs Groothuis you shouldn’t have to change anything as long as the ESC is able to take 4s voltage. If it isn’t rated for 4s, ESC’s are cheap to buy so just swap it for one that can take 3s and 4s
