  • Over 550BHP at the crank this modified BMW M2 Competition is the car BMW should have built. The S55 powertrain has been tweaked with BM3 map switching and a custom tune from Simply Tuning which makes the car an animal when you want it to be and as gentle as a stock one with the press of a few buttons.

    • @ZeroTo60Tube

      @@Jason-jb9bq Before we even think about the car parts purchased for install videos, camera equipment, sound equipment, dragys, vbox's, car registration, fuel, website costs, event entry, accounting costs, there will be more, but just off the top of my head for now, the worst cost is time. If i had worked at a supermarket stacking shelves instead of doing Zeroto60 i would be about $250,000 better off based on hours worked creating content. I spend around 100-120 hours a week working on zeroto60 and have for the last 12 months, before that it was probably only 40 hours a week for the previous few years. However actual money that has come out of personal savings so far on Zeroto60 is around $80k thats for items listed above so far, not including buying any of the cars. I dont count the cars, cos if we had to sell them, we should break even on them. This is why most youtubers give up after about a year, unless they have a significant financial backing behind them or legit blow up before they run out of money, making youtube videos full time is more expensive than a drug habbit and much more detrimental to your social life..... A single automotive youtuber needs to doing consistently around 1 million views a month to pay his bills i mean like break even on minimum wage. Or be getting paid well for promoting products (VPNs, iphone games) in the videos. That said a youtuber doing 2 million views a month should be making above average income. Its still a hobby for us and will be for a while i feel. But we enjoy doing it and we are lucky to have another business that does pay the bills in the time being.

The playing around with cars like this M2C is something we simply wouldnt get to do with out youtube. And hopefully if we keep growing and views keep increasing it might actually be a legitimate job one day. Fingers are crossed. Till then.... who wants to own a house anyway right :P

  • @johnMpower
    @johnMpower Před 3 lety +1

    More than s55, the M+F chassis make all the difference...the traction in this level is a main point.
    Otherwise, after this point, to decrease this low speed times to your N54 level, M2 will need a some serious upgrades like yours N54.
    It would be good if you can start to measure the 100-200kmh times, are more realistic about engine power.

    Another epic video. I was just wondering how easy it would be to put an N55 engine or N54 engine into a E93 325i uk spec. Cars been built for looks so not bothered about having to sell and buy a 335 would rather swop engines depending on how easy it is. Would the ecu need to be changed too???

    • @ZeroTo60Tube
      @ZeroTo60Tube  Před 3 lety

      Im guessing, ECU, engine bay wiring harness, fuel pump, exhuast, transmission and a heap of custom coding. Definitely do able. Start with a parts car and it wont cost too much.

    Nice video guys. We are always comparing Dragy times at roll racing with 100kmh to 200kmh times. Is there much difference in 60 to 120mph? Currently a gtr holds the quickest time of 2.68s 100 to 200kmh and that was around 1350whp. Has the N53 recorded a 100 to 200kmh time? Be good to add it to the QLD QR roll racing list on Dragy to compare how it goes. Keep up the good work 👍

    • @ZeroTo60Tube

      Yeah, 60-130mph is what the guys in the states use. that is 96.5kmh to 209.2kmh. And on a car around this speed will probably take close to a second longer than a 100-200kmh time.

      Correct, we find most late model cars sale 2015 onwards are pretty much fastest 0-100 in stock form, until you get some super sticky rubber on them. The M4CS we did recently was a great example of this. Had about 100 more HP than this M2 comp, but it was actually slower 0-100.

      @Zero To 60 So Australian car registration is basically like Ohio or Montana, that's annoying considering the number of old turds that must be driving around, but excellent for enthusiasts.
      California is really starting to piss me off with their inspections and constant new laws being passed that only seem to hurt the end-consumer, and car enthusiasts.
      The dumbest thing about CA is they're *only* concerned with tailpipe emissions, so we have just as many old piece-of-shit cars on the road, they just happen to have barely passed the bi-yearly smog test.
      I have a 21 manual M2Comp and I'm pretty sure CA is trying to punish me for buying a sports car, my yearly registration fee has been over 1000USD since last year (and that's just for a stupid license-plate sticker).
      I don't have to smog it at all until 27 or 28 cause it's a new car, but they've even started giving people massive tickets for having exhausts louder than 95dB (which is just about every car you can imagine, especially given the way they test it).
      I may have to start considering moving my recording studio to down-under and living there full time. CA is basically a fascist regime if you're a car guy.
