My 71 year old husband objected to moving to TV initially by saying “There’s only old people living there!”. I gently reminded him that people our parents age are already dead or in nursing homes. It’s people his age and younger living there now.” 😀
That is a common misconception. the villages is actually a pretty vibrant place.
56 and my young 49 year old wife headed there this summer!
My mom and I used to watch the Carol Burnett show every Saturday night!! One of the best variety shows ever!! 😊

Hope you enjoy your new eTrike. Our first eBikes will be delivered to our house Wednesday! We did a 1 day rental for a trial and we went 30 miles without fatigue! Regarding memory- I used to have an expansive vocabulary. Not to impress people, but to be fully understood. Now as I look in my brain for the perfect word- it isn't there. So Canine is now Dogs, and Gourmet is now Fancy Foods :)

I would think/hope that restaurants in TV would be more cognizant of the economics of the retirement community when they set prices. Those portions and plates were not particularly grandiose. The mac and cheese just looked like they opened a box of generic Kraft like macaroni. Lol on the old people, but when I watch historical documentaries from the 50's and 60's people seemed to look really old by 35 or 40. It's weird how they just seemed to age faster back then. But I guess that was when people smoked, drank more alcohol, ate whatever they wanted, did not exercise, or wear sunscreen. The 40 year olds who looked 65, really were dead by then. No need for TV back then.

We used to vacation in Orlando at our Grandparents in the early 1950’s and I remember when they had a heavy rain they would place concrete blocks on the manhole covers to keep them from floating away

@ 4:28 The 3-wheel bikes WILL tip over, so continue to be careful. We've had a couple of tipover cases in my retirement community. Both times it was caused by a resident turning into a driveway too closely and running one wheel up onto the curb. They toppled over, but fortunately without serious injury. Both were wearing helmets, but that won't keep you from breaking an arm or wrist or hip.
We were down to the Villages mid December for a week for a lifestyle visit. We went to many, many restaurants but our favorite, by far was Prima Italian Steakhouse. We first went for brunch on Sunday and decided to go back our last night there. It was wonderful bot times. I want to also mention that on 1/31 Clay Aikens and Ruben Studdard are performing at the Sharon. If you are looking for just a fun and enjoyable night with all the music that we all know, I would recommend it. We went in the summer and planning to go again. I loved being at the Villages and who knows maybe someday we will be there.

Greetings from Michigan. Retired 19 years this month. Visited TV a couple of times early on and seriously contemplated moving there. However, life got in the way. We moved into an independent senior facility last year which we enjoy. Have watched you for years. Larry and Bernie (Bernadette).

Hey guys, as always i enjoyed todays video. Pretty wild the family lunch....three adults, four kids, about $150 including tip. And that's with a kids menu of mac and cheese, pizza and a burger.

Thanks for responding to my question. What I really wanted to know how frequent was it that someone moved to TV and didn’t like it. That’s my biggest fear but then again I haven’t come for a visit yet.
We have only run into a few people that came here and left because they did not like it. Most often it is one of the reasons that we gave, or it is the heat.
I agree with you Jerry. Our sanitation workers are the tops! You would never know there were garbage bags set out when they finish! Love the bloopers! You two make me laugh!! Yes Jerry, that memory thing is happening to us too. That's because at our age we have so much information in there that it takes longer to recall wading through all that knowledge. I think you'll like the smaller version of the bike. I'm 5'3" and I got an e-bike regular size weighing 70 lbs adult size and I couldn't handle it. Sent it back, lost money, but got a smaller one and am much happier.

Perfect timing on the country club question! I was looking at listings and saw a 355k 3br surrounded by Country Clubs and could not find the membership fees! Problem solved in under an hour by the newcomers. I will have to see if we can have lunch or dinner this Summer during my first LSV.

I like my trike! I have a basket that makes it convenient to carry tools, tire tubes, and air pump.
Yes! That is an advantage to trikes. I have a nice bag on the back of my bike but it's not the same as a big basket.

Review Indian Korean Greek Jamaican restaurants… I think this is what some people are getting at with the are there good restaurants in the Villages… yeah plenty of barbecue fish chips burgers around. By good they may mean different variety.
