For one, I gave them a tycoon takeover and provided them with unlimited transfer funds to buy players. With the other, I boosted their youth facilities, recruitment and rating so that they would produce world-beating newgens! We then simulate the next 15 years to see which one is most effective...

so ive had this one for a couple months now.
find out the average of CA of a relegation side in the prem
make a team of players with that CA, but you can pick where you want the stats on each player for your formation / how you want to play.
basically see what you can win having bunch of "meh players CA wise" but the stats are cherry picked
i thought this could be fun test, but little awkward to set up if players are getting sold etc
Is it easy to move entire clubs to a new league? Would be fun to see if the big teams in italy/spain/bundesliga etc could compete in like the prem. Or prem teams in bundesliga? I know english teams are OP in FM so maybe teams like Luton would destroy la liga.
Give every team in Portugal a Tycoon owner. Give every team in the Netherlands a maximum youth rating. Simulate 100 years to see which league becomes more dominant.

For the next youth focused experiment, try giving them a Head of Youth Development with high reputation.
here is an idea, how about flipping around the reputation of the clubs, so prem teams have a rep of 2000, championship has a rep of 4000, L1 has a rep of 6000, L2 has a rep of 8000 and national league has a reputation of 10,000. lets see how strange the leagues can get

Ipswich had the facilities at 5 stars by the first 5 year timeskip, so it was never really a fair fight xD
Yeah, they didn’t have max youth recruitment at any point that could benefit them though to be fair
Norwich lost theirs aswell, happens in fm where clubs don’t have the finances for the top facilities
Whenever you hear about Norwich you cannot but think of the one and only legend that is Andy Andrew. He is the real hero, not in the normal footballing sense, yes he’s good but he does so much for the local community. After training on a Thursday he was seen up on the local primary school roof fixing the cladding. Ran the London marathon to raise money for a local charity close to his heart. Donates regularly to Guide Dogs. An ambassador for the community library, believes everyone should ‘workout’ their mind by reading a book a week! The one and only big up Andy Andrew.

Interesting stuff I think if you extended the parameters to perfect youth management and coaching staff, the results might also have been different, it's knowing how to develop the youth team and making the right kind of choices like moving them up from U18s to U21s or sending out on loan when they go pro or giving them more 1st team minutes/cup games etc. Youth development has always struck me as a rather more micromanagement aspect of the game.

Filter in the player search screen by the homegrown status by Norwich, that should show all the players than came through their academy

The AI at Ipswich didn't do well because it didn't really improve the staffs at the club, same thing for Norwich and its the reason why they both struggled to be established clubs in epl..

The game isnt set up for teams being given loads of money. They just sign the same players they would anyway but on much much higher money
Posting before watching. As a Norwich season ticket holder you got my attention.
It's not just about facilities though. Staff is so important. If you can get a 5 star HOYD, a 5 star Chief Scout, a 5 star scouting team, a 5 star TD (and so forth), your program will be MUCH better. If you only look at the facilities, then it's a longer process - maybe a 20 year project. And you also have to work on upgrading and maintaining your facilities. In this experiment, Norwich's facilities already lost half a star in 10 years.
The issue is the reputation of norwich. They dont have it high enough to fight with reputation of top7, so all the good guys go there
"The best facilities" - Clays 2024 with an Image of the new Bournemouth training grounds in development. (if that is the best then guess Bournemouth is gonna be a top 6 side pretty soon.

You should check the PA of talent, if you do youth stuff. You could likely add it as a filter on the youth team of Norwich in this example, and just see how good the talents coming through, are.

Andy Andrew is an elite regen name, up there with Li Ki-Ho 😏 Curious to know what the Norwich club philosophies were, like are they a club that required managers to promote players from the youth team. If not, they may have just flogged their high potential players rather than using them?

I wonder if the staff has impacted Norwich here. Yes they had facilities and youth coaching etc. But once they hit the U18's the coaches at the clubs take over. Maybe that limited their development ability of world beaters?

Maybe should have set the teams reputation to the maximum, allows each team to recruit/sign the best players from the start. Possibly allows the youth intakes to be the very best.

I like how Norwich produce less players in this experiment than in reality
next time set their head of youth and under 19 manager to max and then you will see alot of good newgens , i dont think facilities and recruitment matters more than those 2

You could do again with Wrexham and Newport county, or Swansea and Cardiff so the youth team benefits from Welsh youth players rather than spread the English ones everywhere

Interesting but the test won’t work properly unless you keep Norwich’s facilities and recruitment maxed and the opposite to Ipswich. Otherwise Ipswich will obviously get better whereas Norwich’s will fluctuate. So you are basically testing how quick money takes to makeup the gap in facilities, not which is better/more effective. Also value isn’t a great way to compare players as the value will be impacted by the reputation of the club, as you’ve got editor on you could have shown CA
Well that is a different test. I’m testing how beneficial these initial boosts are, what you’re saying is fine but it’s just not what the video is about.
And the test worked perfectly to answer that. And I find value to be a perfectly viable way to compare players between clubs of the same rep, playing in the same league. In the same way that CA is also a flawed way of comparing.

@danaldridge7553 👍 yeah all good, subtle differences but I’m just trying to find out what I find interesting! And yeah, initial boost of maxing out facilities, and tangible benefits of that more long term (after youth intakes)
An interesting take on this would be to play through both of these scenarios, instead of leaving it up to the AI. Which is better for the player, who is almost certainly better at the game than the AI... Especially those that have made it big on CZcams...
