- It isn't often we find a Dodge truck needing rescue, but this one certainly does, having not been run in 15 years. We are back at it after my surgery, and we are ready to go! Come along as we try to get this old truck running and driving.

That truck is a gem! Factory AC & Cruise control. Amazing.
I would have snatched that up in a heartbeat myself.
Speaking of heartbeat, hopefully the ticker is doing okay Richard?
You look good and healthy.
Great to see you both in action.
I am doing well Gary. It feels very good to be back at it. Thanks for checking in!
Congratulations Richard on the start of the Dodge pickup. This is the first will it run. Since your Surgery. Thank you also Christina for your great support and your video clean up of the truck. Thank you to my favorite team on CZcams.
💯❤️👍👊
Thank you as always Terry! It feels very good to be back at it.
They are just one team that is almost impossible to beat....that is, if anybody really could!
@@whattherust , where did you get that little air blower, I need something like that. Maybe you could tell us the make & model # along with any other info.
I never realized that Dodge made this special truck. The Adventurer SE must have been their top of the line truck. Basically the Lariat trim equivilent in the Fords. The color combination is really nice and the interior was really elegant for it's time. This channel rescues some of the best vehicles i've ever seen. I love it.
Love your comment. Thank you, and we will keep seeking out the unique stuff.
Yesterdays home runs don't win today's games.
Love this truck! As a kid, my great aunt bought a new1973 Dodge Club Cab long bed base model to pull her horse trailer and to travel after adding a cap/topper. It was white with a blue roof and blue lower paint combo. I rode many thousands of miles in those jump seats. It had the rubber floors and I remember the floors in back getting incredibly hot on your feet. No exhaust shielding. She had that truck for about 30 years until she passed. After all that time, the Buffalo winters had taken a toll, and the truck was quite rusty but she kept driving it. That revival brought back so many fond memories of my incredibly adventurous great aunt and the road trips we took in that awesome truck. Thanks for a great revival!!!!
You're welcome Bill. We love it when a video brings back good memories.
How is this thing not rusted out. Especially in the bed with all the leaves and debris that holds the moisture. Wow. Really cool truck. Thanks guys. And I love that it’s a short bed.
We were shocked about the bed too. I assume it was still fully painted when parked, so the rust never got a hold of it.
That's a really beautiful truck; far better looking than any of the ones they produce nowadays.
Always remember with an old Mopar Carry a extra resistor in the glove box
So true. I carry one in my kit, but not the 4 prong one this truck had.
Don't forget transmission
Ballast resistor it’s amazing with that piece of porcelain in the spring will do just don’t touch them and they’re hot. It’ll make you lose skin.
What a fantastic find ! I have a 72 D100 Adventurer SE bought from the original owner in 99 and still got it . Things been a trooper
They are really cool trucks.
Definitely I've always liked the styling of the tin grille dodge trucks,, especially the adventurer and the se, and the prospector... though that is almost always a 80's model truck... Then there's the power wagons..
Oh my word you guys found another diamond in the rough, I love it
We owe the discovery of this one to Howard. We had driven by this area a bunch of times and never saw it! Hope you are doing well, Darren.
Richard and Christina you did a wonderful job on that pickup came out beautiful Anyway Richard you look much better and you must be feeling better after your operation and I'm glad you're doing great God bless you Christina God bless you too because you want to have your way to scrub that truck you always next to Richard's side no matter what and you're always there for him and you guys are the best I watch your videos all the time it's great to know that you people are giving us great entertainment take care of yourselves and happy holidays😅😅😅❤
@@morleyvodrazka7478 Thank you for much for the amazing comment. Your support is appreciated! Happy Holidays!
@@whattherust I think I remember him from a previous video, really nice guy, looks like you made a friend as well as episodes
Where is this truck at? I had a 79 club cab with the long bed. Was a great truck.
It's great to see you back in action Richard. Hope you are fully recovered. That's a beautiful truck. Wish I could afford it. I bet you were not lichen to have to scrub the sun side of that truck! 😅 great to see the two of you back. Take care and don't push it too much for a while.
Thanks for the support Ross.
Great to see you are back
Thanks! It is great to be back!
Love that truck! Those are my favorite Dodge years. Nice!! 😎 And cleaned up very well!! Amazing! A little note: How you can tell a 1978 from a 1977 is the marker lights in the front went from clear to amber. So if it has amber front turn signals, it's a 1978. So this one is definitely a 1977. Thanks for sharing, Richard and Christina!! Good to see you back at it, Richard! I hope you're doing well 😎
Hi David, that info about the marker lights is useful. Ford did the same, but years later in 1981. Dodge was ahead of the curve there. We are doing great and have a great year ahead of us. Thank you for the long-time support. You have a part in keeping these old vehicles alive.
Great job and a great looking truck! I hope the owners really appreciate what you guys did to get this ol’ truck back and driving. Thank you Richard and Christina!
Thanks Glen! The owner is very happy.
That is a cool looking old truck and them aftermarket rims look good on it
Nice work guys, it's amazing how nicely this car cleaned up after standing for so long!😂😂😂
Thanks!
That's a really good looking truck. It's awesome to see it running again. You guys are awesome
We appreciate your support!
WOW!!Nice Richard, What A Difference You All Did to This Truck! Good Job!! 1977 Dodge Truck Back On The Road Again!!🤗
Right on!
cool videos you guys make..Besides Rifleman Chuck Conners was a big major league baseball player. He was MVP in both National and American leagues. Back then baseball players didn't get paid much so acting was his second gig.
That's right. He played pro basketball too.
Great to see you again Richard and Christina 👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks for the support Martin. It is great to be back.
Great episode . I bought a 1973 Dodge Adventurer used in '76 with 42,000 miles on it for $2700. Loved the room inside the cab. It was much roomier than my friends Chevy. That is either a 318 LA motor , or a 360 ( look at side of block ). Not a 383 , they had distributors in the front of engine. I drove that old Dodge for 20 years in construction, and it never let me down. ''Dependable Dodge '' was their slogan back in the day. Mine was a 318 , 230 hp.
I recommend using non ethanol pump gas for that truck
This one is a 318 with 360 heads I am told.
Did a wonderful job on that Dodge pickup
Richard is driving like Ace Ventura 😊
What a wonderful truck !!!
Bud. You gotta get this truck for Christina! You know what they say " Happy Wife Happy Life", That's an awesome truck!
I had a 77 Dodge truck 4/4 with a 318 it was a runner I had a lot of fun with it I always liked that body style
You're lucky this one didn't sit any longer than it did. Most of the seal and gaskets were still holding. That will definitely save some money. This is a great truck. I love it!
It wouldn't take much to make a solid daily driver out of this truck. It is in fantastic condition. Gotta love Tennessee. The climate here is great for preserving old cars.
Get Richie one of those hand held little chain saws for xmas they’re awesome. Clear that brush in no time
Great looking old dodge. I had a 78 Dodge 4x4 single cab short bed loved that truck. Wish I still had it.
4x4, single cab, short bed. It doesn't get any better than that.
@@whattherust Except a crew cab short box 4x4.
Hi, Richard and Christina! Hope you two are doing well! Great to see you all out rescuing another vehicle, neat Dodge truck! Great work in getting it running again! Cheers to you and hope to see more new videos! Take care!😁😀🛠️🔧
Thanks. More to come!
Wow! My Dad had a very basic 1977 Dodge pickup! 225 slant-six with three on the tree. Manual steering and NO other options at all. No radio even. I would love to have one today! It was just like that red one Connors showed at the start. 😂❤
Nice! I like the bare-bones trucks. My 59 is the same way. It doesn't even have a sun visor.
Gotra have Mopar!
Awesome video guys, that's one mean truck! the best thing about your channel is you guys are just being yourselves, and that's what we enjoy ❤ good to see you in good health Richard!
oh, and my twin daughters said Christina is "really pretty"
😃
Thanks Bruce and Twins! Appreciate you watching 😊
That's what I'm talking about bring that thing back to life nice keep it coming man I'm on the same mission sounds Good
Thanks! I will check out your channel!
@@whattherust appreciate it I just enjoy seeing the old cars u come across bringing back to life more reliable than the new cars if u ask me 😂😂😂 keep it coming im 👀 🍿
@@dieselapegarage Right on!
I got an old 88 dodge Dakota I bought new it's got a v6 in it and it still runs and drives great I love it I've never done anything but routine maintenance to it
Love those Rims on the truck.
Welcome back Richard and Christina, Great will it run on the 77 Dodge great truck. I wouldn't mind owning it myself. Anyway glad your back take care.
Thanks 👍
Good looking truck, that's all my dad would own was Dodge.
Don’t often comment but always watch. Great to have you back. Great to see you feeling better. RIFLEMAN….. YES!
Thanks, we appreciate you watching! Support like yours helps keep the channel going.
Good video guys. Happy to see Richard is doing well
Thanks very much. I am doing great!
Great job 👍
Excellent job, both of you !!!!!
Thanks Howard!
had a '84 W100 reg cab .......... good job on the '77. Enjoy your videos.
Great team work, thanks for sharing 👍💨💨
Glad you liked it. Thanks for watching.
Good to see you back to making videos again. Just remember to follow Christina's "orders" and don't over do it, Richard. By the way, did you notice what I think is an old Massey Ferguson tractor? It's the cousin to that old 8N Ford you started a while back. I am still hyped up over finally getting to meet you two.
Hey Richard, yes that Ferguson is on or list! Great to meet you as well.
I had a 1977 short wide 4x4 440 auto. My dad bought it new in 1977 and gave it the me when I turned 16. I grew u in it and then drove it for years after I became owner. Wish life hadn’t happened like life does and I still had it.
I hear that.
Hey Richard and Christina excellent job on this cool truck! Being a Mopar person so happy to see this old girl get a second chance! I know you two worked all day but it turn out great!!😊
Thanks! We had a lot of fun.
It’s great to see you working again. and doing well.
Thanks. It feels great to be back in it.
I'm surprised for someone who obviously optioned this truck really well, stayed with the standard 318 V8 instead of opting for the 360, or the 440? Oh well HAHAHAHA still super cool truck and the 318 is an absolute workhorse of an engine
Holy crap, stand back Christine while he’s swinging that machete. I love this old style of Dodge.
Very nice work 👍☺️
Good to see you back! Don’t overdo it. Have fun!
Right on.
Y’all are great, one item you need to add is a really good Stijl weed eater & brush cutter to your arsenal.
Agreed. The SUV was full to the top of this trip, but we need to make room for it in the future.
You finally got the most important tool in your box. Machete!
Right on.
If Lucas McCain endorses it, it has to be a big deal. 😉
Good To See you both back at it 😊
Thank you Robert. It is great to be back.
😂😂😂😂 because it has good spark. Love this show 😊
That was a funny moment. Hopefully I will not repeat it!
That was a great find guys you don't run across those truck's every day good job getting it running and driving great video thanks Richard and Christina
Thank you Dale.
Thank you so much you guys Richard and Kristina. You guys did amazing job. From old to gold.
You're welcome. I like that phrase!
So glad to see you guys back!! Love your show!! Go easy!!
Looks like Sanford and Son old Ford F-100 in the Background.
Kick ass truck
Nice truck! I'm surprised It is in such great shape for sitting for 15 years! Richard, you and Christina sure do work well together. That will be a great truck for someone to enjoy and drive. I would love to buy that truck and work on it myself if I was younger. Cool project! Keep up the awesome content! Happy to see that you are doing well, Richard. God bless!
Thanks Ronald. More content coming!
I'm with Christina I love this truck
That truck must have been in amazing condition before it sat out in the weather for 15 years. It is still a really nice truck for it's age. You don't find all original trucks in that condition very often. It is definitely worth $3500. If I could afford it, I would buy it in a heartbeat.
I used to have a 73 dodge just like that only with a 360. It was a great machine.
This truck is awesome. You definitely don't see many of them any more. This is a really cool find.
Another great video! Thank you for sharing your amazing talents and all the fun you have making new friends and waking up these old vehicles. I really enjoy all of your content.
Thank you for the nice comment. The vehicles are great, and the people we meet are even better.
440 fits in there! Warlock! Had long box with a 360 just idled home at 1800 pm!
That's wicked cheap. I think that truck should definitely be considered for a restoration project. That would be a really handsome truck!
Surprisingly, this truck never sold. A number of people were interested, but nothing materialized. It is still sitting there.
Thanks Richard & Christina. Nice truck. I doubt it’ll pass California’s strict Emission Tests. Different story if it was Fuel Injected. Reminds me of a 1975 Dodge 3/4 Ton (4 drs) ex-Army truck I had in the 1980s. Awesome video.
Thanks! Those Cal emissions standards are tough. I used to live there, and the best way around the rules was to drive a pre-1975 vehicle.
Yeah I used to own a California emissions California truck rust free from central San Diego California a 1993 GMC Sierra c2500 Lt slx 350tbi ac 4L60e automatic overdrive pw,pl,two, rsw truck was pretty much loaded only had 145k miles new exhaust and tune up it ran really decent but bad cat and smog pump and the replacement pancake cat was about $350 had two metal tubes coming out of it and the smog pump was going out so it was red tagged it failed two smog emissions tests and it ended up getting a different engine and completely redone exhaust system in Indiana before I got it turned out it was the same engine just new gaskets and piston rings but even though Indiana didn't do emissions tests it had to pass a thorough state inspection before the bmv would issue it plates
It was just a fleet ordered white no trim regular cab long bed work truck had a beautiful dark blue interior..
I would be happy too I love that truck I want it!! Lol
You guys are awesome my dad had a truck like that when I was young in the '70s
good looking rig!
That will make a nice truck for someone
That is a great deal at $3500!
This guy has Mopar vehicle everywhere lol
Good job Christina wanting to recheck the plugs. Good call.
That's right. She helps me out a lot, much of it not seen on camera. The videos would not be nearly as good without her.
@@whattherust you're lucky to have her Richard
Definitely worth the money ---good find !!!

Thanks!
Thanks Terry! We appreciate all you do! 🙏
Wow, Love that Truck
great job what a team.
Good Seeing You Both Back Richard & Christiania, Great Revival, What A Unique Rig, A Very Solid Forty-Seven Year Old Dodge, Good Looking Rig, A Little TLC Could Make A Nice Rig.. Thanks To You Both, Be Well..
You’re welcome Charles. Thanks for watching.
You guys should do that old tractor that was sitting beside it. That would be cool. This truck is beyond awesome though. It has a ton of potential.
We will be doing that tractor soon!
Christina needs that truck. And you need that Ford 8N(?) sitting in the weeds.
I asked! He said no 🤣
Great video loved the old commercial on the Dodge. Richard so good to see you healthy and back at it. Love the show from San Antonio Tx
Thanks for the support John. I am definitely back!
That’s a cool find ! $3500 is a very good price for that truck. It would make someone a great project/daily driver. And you’re right that green/grey works. Although I prefer the factory styled wheels those aftermarket wheels look pretty good on it. Hopefully someone will get this one and cherish it
Right on.
And the fuse box is also easily accessible just under the glovebox lid to the left side of the glovebox, and the dash layout in the first and second gen dodge trucks has always configured for driver comfort and accessibility..
Mr. B. Here ! Morning guys ☕️🍩🍩👀😎👍 Love the ad with Chuck Connors , forgot that he did it ! Guys most think if not a Chevy’s all the others are forgotten & cars of mid 70 ‘s . Nice fine , and cool video !
Thanks Mr. B!
Great video guys good to see y'all
Fantastic, this truck is very cool indeed with so much room inside. I really like it, Well done getting it fired up.
Thanks very much.
Excellent video Christina :) , Richard :) , this 1977 Dodge truck in good condition for sure plus colors too amazing plus run super to besides Balis Restior needs updated and minor too! I remember 1976 Dodge D350 1 ton 4×4 a fireman on local fire department he donated on one station my late Dad was had 440 daul exhaust with 4 barrel, 727 4 speed Automatic transmission to was super truck for supplies fire department need supplies on fire plus ! They retired truck in 2005 and one other fireman bought it and still uses today as own driver!
Thanks Andrew. I imagine that truck with the 440 was able to respond to calls very quickly!
These people should have just given you the truck after all the hard work you did.
Nice truck. It looks like it will clean up well.
I love watching you guys and y’all are amazing at getting that truck running! But um y’all didn’t say anything about that old pickup sitting it the yard. I would have loved a little look at that beauty
Oh, Ricky's truck. That is a 48 Ford that he drives almost daily. He visited while we were working on the Dodge. It is a neat rig. You can see more of it during a video on our other channel: czcams.com/video/K_zdVtQdYLU/video.html
That is a cool looking truck awesome video.
