Thanks for posting. Nick is very eloquent and seems to have a mind for remembering details. They're both great but Nick seems to posses that inner strength and focus. I can see why he was the one to start Duran Duran.
@@54xe76 Both John and Nick started it. They were neighbors and good friends. I read Andy Taylor's auto biography. Andy said so himself. And Nick and Andy like each other the least but he still gives him the credit!
@@DRu.913 well, obviously you haven't read John Taylor's biography, and have no idea about the band's history. John started the band first with his friends David Twist then Stephen Duffy, not Nick. Nick only joined the band later. Andy didn't say in his book that nick started the band. He only said nick had been childhood friends with John.
Thanks for sharing this. I thought some of the questions (from the public) were really good and the answers interesting. Simon and Nick seemed relaxed and were very gracious by not taking offence at Larry's lack of knowledge. I guess Larry was somewhere around each of their Dad's age and Simon & Nick showed their respect.
I think Larry and the guys did a great job with this interview. It's not Larry's fault he's not up on the guest's background, and Simon and Nick do a gracious job at helping Larry out with this fill-in spot.
Wow! Thanks for posting this! I remembered when this aired! I set the VCR to record it, or so I thought, but much to my dismay, I had recorded the wrong channel. I actually cried! A day or two later, DD appeared on Larry's radio show. If I remember correctly, John spoke during the radio show.
It's funny watching Larry shuffle through this interview while not knowing anything about the band or music in general it seems. Everyone makes it work though.

I don't know, but he looks horrible as a blond. By 1994 Nick had to dye his hair blond because he'd fried it so badly in the 1980s that blond was the only color that would stay in his hair.

Larry was out to lunch on the band and contemporary music at that point, and those cats could not have been kinder. Nice guys, good interview.
