They were accepted in every culture, gender and race! I'm an African American and grew up in sticks! I will always be a fan of this band! Boy George went out there did his thing! We didn't care about who he was! He's underrated as having one the most beautiful voices of all time! Peace everyone!

This album in general, (Colour By Numbers) has a solid handful of great hits on it!! This would be a good one to have on vinyl, because you'll actually want to play almost every song each time you put it on!! Great band!! I'm sad that Jon quit last year, but he served us well!!

I’m a 52 year old straight male and I LOVE Boy George and Culture Club!! Hell yeah I still jam the hell out of this and don’t care who hears it!! It is some of the best music from the 80’s which I was lucky enough to grow up in that decade!! A lot of people judge people by their race, creed , skin color , genre etc.. This is bull s:-! You should treat people with respect like I was taught from my parents and let them be who they are supposed to be. Boy George is openly gay and uses it to his advantage through his music and talents!! I have read over 400 plus comments on hear and sadly there are still some idiots who judge and comment rudely!! Not only did Boy G bring us Culture Club and great music but he also is a world ranked DJ to boot!! In the late 80’s he was ranked in the top 100 DJ’s in the world and now he is at 1531 ranked in the world, still badass though. Google it for yourself if you don’t believe me!! Keep kicking Ass Boy George!!

Life when this song came out: no cable, no Internet, no cell phones. Instead, we had a VCR, Atari, and imagination as kids. Kids did everything outside back then - rode bikes, pool hopping, collected stickers, playing sports with other neighborhood kids, watergun fights, playing with walkie talkies, etc. You made the best with what (little) you had. It was really a lot of fun!

Those of us that came up through that era, graduating high school in 80, maturing through the decade, it was perfect. There were plenty of jobs, it was a trusting time, everyone was on the same side. Things started to turn south toward the end of the decade with AIDS, crack cocaine and gang violence. I believe that was the writer's goal; to appeal to the demographic that buys music for the rest of their lives, 12 year old girls who are now in their 40's. That's most certainly why I keep hearing the song on current radio. My comment was slanted toward production details. I apologize. I was speaking in terms of "mail box jobs" as the holder of the song's licensing, etc. still gets a really nice check every 3 months. That's a keeper, a classic in format sense. peace...

Yessss - the videos on MTV and VH1 seemed magical -- maybe it helped that I was out of college by '83 and my life was so carefree w/o homework!! The Reagan years and the optimism paired with the music - loved the British Invasion!!!!
