  • North Korea has been conducting multiple missile and rocket tests, leading to increasing tensions in East Asia. Kim Jong-un recently declared South Korea the “most hostile country” and ordered the military to prepare for war. So, will we see war erupt on the Korean Peninsula soon? And what kind of games are the major powers behind the two Koreas playing?

    Lei is lovely as always.
The parallels between what DPRK has recently done, by removing "peaceful reunification", and what the CCP has said recently at the 2 Sessions; is a verbatim echo.
The same rhetoric can be said of Xi and Putin.

    • @China_Secret_Police

China has been aiding and abetting Putin's unnecessary war of aggression upon Ukraine since 2014. Meaning that the war criminal status should also extend to Xi Jinping.
If you want additional in-depth academic information, outside of CZcams, regarding what countries like Russia and China are doing; then I highly encourage using these useful resources, which have extensive reports:

By instinct of attraction to a fat strong man like Kim. But remember that perhaps the one biggest geo-strategic change Trump made that proved right was China. Everyone in the US business community was enamored with the prospect of winning a portion of the massive Chinese consumers market that they and politicians of both sides averted their eyes on trade imbalance issues, human rights and the empowerment of an autocratic regime. Trump destroyed that. Not because he cared for the issues but because he could see the American blind spot and knew how to humble Xi and humble the US political establishment. He was right and Biden kept the anti-China stance and actually did something real in banning US chip tech from going to China.

    • @AsurmenHandOfAsur

BOTH parties agreed to trade with them in the first place which has caused this mess. They BOTH are to blame. Trade with them is unwinding because of China's belligerence, their population collapse and them lying about the coof. It's going to get worse as they ramp up Taiwan invasion preparations but the next conflict to distract and deplete the West will be on the Korean peninsula.

Not only naval war games but Putin has sent Russian nuclear scientists & stuff to Iran and North Korea late last year. Probably so they will provide Putin/Russia with war material to fight Ukraine as Russia has been severely sanctioned. Russia has always resisted giving Iran & North Korea nuclear/missile tech but I guess Putin got pushed too hard...

Lei, I live in Oklahoma, as everyone knows. This state is run by completely maga-Republucans that have nearly destroyed healthcare and education with rigid laws and executive orders. 😕 there's no way they will unite with Democrats. They don't even like non-maga Republicans!! Here's some of the things I've known to be happening in Oklahoma:
Republican State Legislators passed the strictest anti-abortion laws in the nation. Conception through giving birth, no exceptions. Passed in 2019 as trugger laws in anticipation of SCOTUS overturning RvW. Fertility and IVF programs closed immediately. Many Obstetricians and Gynocologist fled the state fearing legal liabilities and NOT being able to perform medically necessary abortions. Oklahoma state is a gynocological healthcare desert. Most women do NOT have a Gynocologist or Obstetrician. They are going to General Surgeons for hysterectomies, Physicians Assistants for ovarian cysts, Urgent Care for prenatal care, ERs to deliver babies OR NO HEALTHCARE AT ALL! The majority of women in Oklahoma are not getting regular pelvic exams, pap smears or other gynocological healthcare screenings. Ovarian, cervical and uterine cancers will go undiagnosed, as well as other gynocological diseases and disorders. Every pregnancy is high risk without an OB/GYN. IUDs are illegal because they inhibit a fertilized egg from implanting. Tubal ligations are no longer performed because of the miniscule chance of an egg getting fertilized but it can't get to the uterus. Gov Kevin Stitt has a TASK FORCE that monitors all pregnant women from conception through giving birth. Doctors are required to give the Task Force information on all their pregnant patients. Any pregnancy that does not end in live birth will be investigated starting with the woman, her doctors, her family and friends. All social media, texts, emails and cell phone conversations will be searched. Vehicle license plate tracking history will be used to determine where she went during the alleged pregnancy. Women are terrified. Families are suffering. Communities are in crisis and Oklahoma is a failed state! No one should move here. NO ONE!
Last fall (2023) Gov Kevin Stitt signed an executive order making it illegal for anyone to use a bathroom not designated for their gender at birth. A reporter asked how it will be enforced and Gov Stitt said, "We're going to monitor them." 😳 Another reporter asked why he was doing this. Gov Stitt replied, "to protect our women." 😐 what? So only monitoring women's bathrooms? Or also monitoring men's bathrooms for women? I'm not sure 😱 2 months ago 3 girls kicked a transgenderto death in a bathroom at their high school.i wonder if Gov Stitt has that monitoring video ?? Side note: there are more than 7,000 unprocessed rape kits since Gov Stitt took office in 2018. Maybe that would be a better place to start. One sexual offender assaults many victims, so rape kits would find DNA evidence to help get those offenders off the streets.men and children can be victims of rape, too, just like women. 🥺
The Oklahoma state legislators are working on House Bill 3133 that allows for Law Enforcement to classify hispanic Oklahomans with any "street gang affiliation" as Terrorists so the state can seize all their property and put them in detainment compounds indefinitely. Property like cars, cash, houses, land, businesses, bank accounts etc. Nazi germany did this to jewish people and Hitler used it to build his war machine. What will Republicans do with the seized properties? 😖

Reunification would also be a serious destabilizing revolution for an autocratic corrupt murderer.
Also, a divided Korea (sometimes in 3 or kingdoms) is a historic fact.
We can't assume that a united Korea was a norm. Even during the Japanese colonial period, different parts if Korea were treated differently and that affected the unification narrative.
North Korea is also guaranteed further division because it benefits the Chinese border.

Instability in North Korea is an annoyance to Xinnie but it’s not as fatal as instability in China. In a catastrophe, it’s every man for himself.

Call me a bit of a political agonist, but I believe internal conflict and tensions are ultimately a source of strength for the US. Just like a roiling market economy contrasted with the stasis of a planned economy, the dynamic nature of the former may often look and even be messy, but from it a more organic and efficacious entity is formed.
