- Aura, the physical manifestation of ones soul. Once unlocked it has a wide variety of applications for Offense, Defense, Perception and Healing, on top of fueling a person's semblance. For each aspect of aura we have seen characters who use aura at a very high level, pushing it beyond the basics that most huntsman/huntresses are able to use. What are your thoughts on how aura can be used and the characters who hone those abilities? Let me know in the comments below!

Ismail x so we are just gonna continue to bash them for the worst seasons and act like they haven’t produced the best 2 volumes of the show after volume 5?
In the Volume 4 Jaune training scene (the one where he listens to the Pyrrha video), he performs strong, intense slashes. Just a few slashes is supposed to be enough to have tired him out and require a break. We also see in this scene that he causes the grass to move with his slashes. This could be attributed to him creating wind, but we could also interpret this scene as Pyrrha attempting to train Jaune how to use his aura to amplify his strikes. So this provides a basis for Jaune learning to create an aura arc with a slash of his sword.
Like how Qrow and tyrian cut a roof in half when they clashed back in V4

so, acording to a theory i have, aura is like Ki (or chi, or the equivalent in any anime): you need to activate it to protect you, you can use it to amplify your strikes and if you use too much, you are vulnerable. maybe you can use it even after it is depleted, but it costs you your life.

Black/purple- gravity
Teal- hard light
Blue- ice
Red- fire
Yellow- lighting
Green- plant (was once wind)
White- wind (occasionally earth)
Brown- earth

Blake also does an aura arch when fighting torchwick. Her final attack is a down slash that launches a arch.
I think her semblance had something to do with it. Like, her shadow clones are basically her aura given physical form, and her aura arcs were the only ones we've seen so far that weren't white. They had a purple hue, when even Qrow's arcs are white.

@@shiranui2844 Yeah, but she makes those clones with her aura, so I figured she would have less trouble projecting her aura outward as a result.

@Kartoffelkamm She used her aura arcs during both Torchwick fights. The train and the Paladin. Time Dilation is speed increase due to Lightning Dust so she is capable of using it which makes sense since she is probably partially trained by Adam, who can use the kinetic energy he absorbed into similar aura energy blasts
Definitely interesting that the only notable uses of aura arcs outside of Qrow were assisted, be it Blake with Weiss’s time dialation and Adam’s semblance Moonslice. Given that Qrow can use an ability that Adam needs a semblance for. . . yeah, that’s badass.
Also, Yang better hope she can get on Jaune and Hazel’s level, given that her semblance requires her aura to be depleted, leaving her more vulnerable to aura breaks.

It definitely seems like ruby's semblance is evolving as it originally seemed to just be speed when it first manifested but now it seems more along the lines of her turning into rose petals which move super fast which following along with Phoenix's bleach comparison sounds kinda like the ability of senbonzakura which means we might hopefully see ruby weaponize her semblance and use it like byakuya uses senbonzakura
What if Ruby developed the capability to maintain a partial physical form while in rose petal mode, allowing for scythe action at a unimaginable speed, even compared to her current capabilities.
Kinda like a logia from One Piece.

Jaune has so much potential, and I really hope that the writers don't waste it. I'd love to see him get to the level of power and skill that you talked about.
I think there's a possibility of him having a personnal arc (lol) if he goes to his familly, and it's possible to happen in volume 8. RWBYJNRMPP could decide to step away from Atlas to prepare a counter-attack without being hunted down by either Atlas military and Salem's forces. So they could go to Arc's familly.
Mr Wits Personally, I think that would be awesome. I think that it would be very interesting to learn more about Jaune and the Arc family as a whole, and I definitely wouldn't complain if they took that route for Volume 8.
@@jakethemistake6116 Jaune's familly photo is an obvious foreshadowing. Whatever will happen, the main characters would eventually cross their path with them. The question is when and where. In my point of view, it's a suitable moment after volume 7. Team JNR had suffered a great defeat in last episode. It's possible they think Oscar is dead and they have lost another member, plus the issues in ReNora relationship. I really hope team JNR would have part of the focus in volume 8. At least Jaune needs to confront the issue about his parent's lack of trust that had been alluded in volume 3 episode 8
Mr Wits That's a good point. I don't get why they'd show a picture of Jaune's family and not actually have us meet them. Plus, Jaune has talked about his family on several occasions, and I don't see why they'd throw that all away and have it mean nothing. Hopefully, your prediction is right and we get to meet them in the next Volume. Plus, (and this is just my opinion,) I feel like team JNR didn't get enough screen time in Volumes 6 & 7.
@@jakethemistake6116 I answer late. Yes that's what I meant by "obvious foreshadowing". What you say about the Arc familly is true. In fact it's one of the two protagonists' famillies in the serie we heard about above the nuclear familly (so including the grand parents and ancestor, heritage -Crocea Mores for the Arcs, Glyph semblance for the Schnees- and so on...). And we know what's up for the Schnees. In fact I really think the two famillies make great foils for each other : crowded environnement versus the colds alley of Schnee mansion, relatively well connected familly (after all six of the seven sisters of Jaune staid near their parents) versus... well what are the Schnees now. Sunny and colorfull familly appearence versus cold themed familly look... I also bet Jaune's parents trully love each other on contrary of Jacques and Willow. And even issues Jaune and Weiss have with their parents are dimetraly opposed (low expectation to the point it's demoralizing versus high pressure.)

Possibly, but Yang doesn't take damage like Hazel does. Her semblance involves her getting hit which depletes her Aura cloak but doesn't damage her body. Hazel is injecting dust, damaging his body and causing his aura to constantly heal him. I see Yang getting a lot stronger but I don't know if she could reach Hazels level

Phoenix/Night I thought he had pain negation. He was just so yoked he could take the physical abuse from the dust without too much slowing him down while being amped by the dust. His semblance just negated the pain
@@gameinsane4718 That is his semblance, but I'm pretty sure Qrow or Oz mentions that he also has an incredibly strong aura that regenerates quicker? Honestly, I can't remember. Post volume 3, the show kind of gave up explaining how things worked properly

A quick note on Jaune's symbol being a "rainbow," Jaune's based on a French figure, and rainbow in French is "arc-en-ciel." Literally translated to "arc in the sky." So yeah, it's an arc, but also a rainbow.
I've said it before Jaune needs to get more aura training put him with Ren and let the monk teach him aura control. I was really excited when Jaune seemed to get some advice from vine to try and project his aura outward so hopefully some development happened there for Jaune.
Dude imagine if jaune were to master all the capabilitys of aura how op he would become?

I have always wondered if Ozpins super speed is the product of his aura control or his semblance.
I am convinced that the "more than just a man" line is going to take a very important role in volume 8. Perhaps his mastered aura control is enough to challenge salems magic.
Aura has a lot of potential even without using a semblance, thats for sure.

Ruby, Qrow, Raven, Pyrrha and Adam - (5) Red.
Weiss, Winter, Fria, Maria, Marrow, Vine and Ironwood - (7) Blue (cyan).
Blake and Tyrian - (2) Purple. (allthough I sometimes wonder about Tyrian, personally would had thrown him in with Pink, but the wiki says Purple)
Yang, Sun, Dudley, Fiona and Jaune - (5) Yellow.
Amber (the former fall maiden), cinder and Lionheart - (3) Yellow/orange.
Harriet, Nora and Ren - (3) Pink.
And the (7) green group: Oscar (with Ozma and Ozpin as well), Penny, Pietro. Tock (lime) and Watts.
Elm - (1) Brown.
Clover - (1) Turquoise.
Mercury - (1) *White* (so he should be (one off) the strongest auras, do to your analysis xD).

but sometimes, I do think its important to remember that there are differences within each color. like, Ironwood's blue is very different from Weiss's blue. but. is it just me or are Ren and Nora's aura color the EXACT SAME PINK. THEY COULD ACTUALLY BE LITERAL SOUL-MATES
Nice list of aura colors! Looking at this list, I'm wondering if colors can change shades based on how a person develops. Qrow has a darker red aura compared to Ruby's lighter red and Qrow has definitely been through some rougher times than Ruby.

@@PhoenixNight Could be the same comparing Weiss with Ironwood's aura. Weiss has a more gentle blue colour, where Ironwood is more Cobalt (the only dark blue in the series as off this time) and we see how Ironwood turned out. More heartless and paranoid. Where Weiss is loved by Ruby, Blake and Yang.
Same when comparing Jaune's brighter yellow aura to Dudley's.
I see Jaune, if he truly pushes himself to master his semblance, he could well be even more powerful than the main cast themselves. Allow me to explain, I see Jaune's semblance as self-sustaining. Almost everyone who watches the series know how much aura Jaune really has and how versatile his semblance is. A great example of this would be during the mech fight in Volume 6, when Jaune was saving Nora from the mech's attack. We saw that he broke his aura right? But later down the line, we could see in the final episode that Jaune used his semblance so quickly. How could that be possible? It didn't take a day to recharge his aura nor did it take hours but rather it took just minutes to fully use his semblance. This in itself could mean one thing, if Jaune's aura is so massive and plentiful, he could use his semblance to fully powered himself up to the point that he could well be OP. I know what you're thinking, Jaune's semblance helps other people though... Well, there's also the fact that he can use his semblance onto himself if he wishes too. To illustrate my point, during the Cardin bullying arc. Remember that episode where Jaune was severely beaten up by Cardin and his team and then when Cardin was about to punched Jaune on the face when suddenly he recoiled back from punching Jaune like he had punched a brick wall or something. And then we could see Jaune fully healed up like he was back to normal. In the RWBY Wiki, Miles Luna stated that during this episode Jaune passively activated his semblance and amplified his aura shield so hard that it was almost like a brick wall and ultimately healed himself in the process. That's just Jaune's semblance working as defensive/support type onto himself. Imagine if he could amplify his own attacks to a much bigger degree. He is truly a walking OP character who doesn't even know it yet but the writers are forcefully making him look bad in order to not overshadow the others completely because of his raw power and talent.
Blake did the aura arc in volume 2 chapter 11 against Roman as well.
I honestly thought that that was due to the dust that Weiss gave her.

I think we saw a foreshadowing of Jaune's Aura Arc. Remember when he trained with Pyrrha's recording, after that one swing there was this wind slash. Maybe he could do even more than an "simple" Aura Arc, you referenced Bleach and Ichigo's Getsuga Tensho, but you kind of forgot or not noticed one thing, Jaune's sword has a different shape than Qrow's.
Jaune's sword is not only suited for slashing but also for pierceing, so there is also a possibility he could develpe aura techniques simmilar to Howze's Breakthrough or\and Dreyfus's Rakan from Nanatsu no Taizai, witch deal pierceing damage to the opponent.
Potentially and I don't know if this can be done. Jaune can also increase the effects of dust with his semblance by coating dust with his aura then activating his semblance, making it so that the dust has a bigger effect and lower cost. I seriously wish that RT make Jaune focuse on his semblance in a more offensive side, Cause of right now their wasting a whole lot of potential. Hell why didn't Jaune use his Semblance when they encountered the intelligent grim I will never know.
Fox also shows a lot of similar abilities to Ren. He also created shockwaves and exploded a Beowulf in volume 2 and had mastery sensory in the books.

In volume 4 Ruby sees Juan practicing and he seemed to be able to preform a mini Aura arc it just dissipates to fast to damage the nearby plant life.
I don't actually think those are aura arcs. I think that's just jaun using his aura to amplify his strength which in turn allows him to create those shock wave strikes similar to qrow's punches. I think I order for him to do those aura arcs he'll need to extend his aura outward which was hinted at when he trained with vine in volume 7
I think that was just the wind from Jaune's strikes instead of his aura. Hinting at what he could do with aura
jaune is seriously scary if he's able to master both his semblance and aura. Considering he was able to amplify Ren's semblance in a huge train, if he focus aura into his sword and release it while amplifying the aura arc maybe he could destroy a whole town with a single slash alone.

A bit off topic, but Jaune's Aura Amplification is really overlooked. The man can literally be indestructible (hypothetically) and be Wolverine at the same time if he wanted to. It's the most op semblance imo, and yet it's so simple
Seriously how you delve within the world of RWBY-verse and lore. Your theories bring many questions and tackling themes about this series.
Aura should have a Power System more developed, to allow a better clasification of their types such as: Offensive, Defensive, Senses, Healing, Mind and Elements.
Regarding about aura's potential, since it's basically an expression of your soul and by default emotions. Example, Revan's Semblance to creater portals to people she is connected with. This made me think that Aura have potential to create Telepathy or Mind Reading, the ability to talk through the mind or read depending on the bond that user shares with the others. Or even able to communicate with animals or plants.
Another possible potential for Aura could be an Astral Projection, the ability to let go of your physical body and earthly attachments, able to move around the space like a ghost.
Another idea is that Aura can be used as form of conduits for elements, without the need of using Dust. Since Maidens have the ability to bend/control like any element around them, it's also possible that others can have this level of elemental bending yet more low tier. For example, Yang's Semblance makes her hair become literal of wave of fire and add more boost to her punches.
And finally Aura Solidication, if the Schnee Family is able to create familiars through the use of Glyphs. How weapons that basically made of aura?
The telepathy aspect sounds like Ninshu from Naruto. Similar to aura they use chakra in combative ways, but Ninshu is the art of using it to connect the thoughts and feelings between people. It'd be interesting for that to become a new aura skill.
@@blueblade6174 Exactly! I feel there's a lot of ideas on how Aura can be used and exploit it's potential, maybe this could cover for more worldbuilding, fight scenes and how affects the characters around.
The magic system of RWBY is pretty soft, i'd say. We don't know specifically how it works, we only know a few things, and have more questions from them. It'd be nice to see it become more of a hard magic system, rather than just going, "Because magic!" Because aura tends to be a bit confusing to be honest. A lot of things in the beginning were probably done because of 'the rule of cool', but we've moved away from that pretty far by now, I think.
Have you ever read a RWBY fanfiction named Silver by Imoyoshi? It's about how Jaune actually creates weapons from his aura, it's pretty cool.

Imagine Jaune boosting Qrows misfortune, it would be akin to a natural disaster. Or pretty much Jaune superboosting the Aura of his teammates and if the change in quantity of aura unlocks new facets of their semblances.
Jaune can already canonically produce aura arcs, weak and unfocused, but definitely aura projected off the edge of a blade. V4:E2 - Rememberance, when Jaune is training with the video Pyrrha made for him. As he swings it is visibly producing something. I like citations. Great video!
I think what we saw was just the wind pressure from Jaune's swings, showing the potential he could have adding aura. Either way Jaune is going to be real strong
We also heard Vine suggest that Jaune extend his aura outward, so we'll probably get a follow-up on that in the next volume.

This is very impressive with how much research and thought you put into your videos, and they continue to feel even more in depth as you continue these. You've added many ideas that I would never have suspected, such as Qrow's rings and the arc launching from his blade as an offensive capability and also how the arc resembles Jaune's symbol. I can't wait to see more of you have coming, and I hope that your theories may actually be proven correct in the upcoming volume(s).
This is a really fun topic I expanded on in my own headcanon! Basically I created twelve techniques above and beyond Semblances that start with just being able to feel the flow of your aura and ends with being able to _actively manipulate_ somebody else's aura to the point of healing trauma and other things like sealing of Semblance. The techniques make things pretty mess as there are overlaps with Semblances, but idrc. Honestly, that was kind of my _intent_ since I have decently hard rules for how aura works.
Basically, to get access to advanced aura, you have to be able to sit and reflect on yourself. The greater understanding you gain of yourself, you can also gain of your world. You become more aware of everything. You're aware of your place in the world, your actions, and how you effect yourself others, and the world at large. It's more or less a path to enlightenment.
Needless to say, anybody that achieves the higher levels are few and far between. One of the few is Kali Belladonna is basically a pure master of everything related to advanced aura. This actually passed onto Blake who achieved up to Grade Ten before Adam came in and brainwashed her.
One interesting thing of note with advanced aura users is when thye experience severe trauma. They almost end up with two personalities that they flit between. Most advanced aura users are pretty calm and steady (not all, but most) but once they experience severe trauma, you can _really_ see it in them. They'll basically dip in and out of being calm and steady for being anxious and nervous when focusing on the trauma. It's an interesting duality.

I think either Salem has mastered how to use her aura, or has no control over it at all. On one hand, she's had even longer than Oz to train herself, with no re-learning/remembering her skills like Oz. On the other hand, she's the only human left of her kind that isn't born from dust the way that the next wave of humanity was. We see a lot of interaction between dust and aura/semblances, so how would this affect Salem who may or may not be dust-based? But, "aura is the physical manifestation of one's soul", so I'm guessing Salem still has an aura, if having no control over it. In the lost fable we see what seems to be Salem's aura, when she falls into the pools of creation and destruction. If she is made 'immortal' by the pool of creation, she probably has an infinite aura reserve. We are told that the relic of creation is capable of supplying a limitless amount of energy. Her aura can't be depleted, even when she is able to impale herself. With this limitless aura, she can't deactivate it enough to do any permanent harm to herself. So maybe, with so much aura constantly flowing, she may not be able to channel it if humans were not made to do that. (or she's unmatched in extreme power and control, or her projection of aura is kept in balance by the pool of destruction's effect "aura can't protect your arm, its Grimm", or her soul itself is tortured by her actions and history)

He did. It was a result of a strong clash between them.

I always hopped to see Jaune performing japanimation swords slashs. To be honest I forgot Qrow doing the same. I also think we had a foreshadowing of this in volumes 4 and 5 : when Jaunes trains himself we clearly see he produce winds arcs blowing the grass; also when he attacks Cinder he produced energy that moved chains several meters behind her. My personal hypothesis was that Crocea Mores had an aura of its own (you know, being a familly relic and stuff), and it would be cool, but as you showed it's not necessary.
I think that Jaune has already shown a brief unconscious ability to do an Aura Arc in volume 4 when he was training to Phyrra's video, as his sword swings sent out a wave of air pressure strong enough to flatten the grass in front of him
He also could have the ability to project aura shields in front of people by extending his aura, similar to Ren's emotion projection

okay but Yang’s Aura had already been worn down from combat with the Grimm. She!d been fighting and evading them for a while before the encounter with Adam. Aura, theoretically, can be worn down as a person gets tired, and that combined with Adam’s semblance, makes Yang losing her arm just that much more realistic.

I would like to see them go into detail with aura transfer and extension, specifically with Pietro and Penny.
Is Penny able unlock a semblance with artificial aura? And could someone like Jaune be able to transfer his own into someone like Penny? Can Penny regenerate aura?
I'm just curious on how inorganic material could manipulate aura. Especially since she's sentient.
We'll probably get more into that in Volume 8.
I wonder how silver eyes interact with aura as to me they are both gifts from the god of light just due to aura's main purpose being like the silver eyes to protect life and personally I hope something like a merging between ruby's silver eyes power and her aura happens as that would be badass and intriguing
I think we've seen Jaune trying to learn how to do an aura arc when he was watching that training video with Pyrrha in volume 4
I think some more examples are Fox’s aura from the RWBY books, he uses his semblance almost 24/7 to talk and they show fatigue during battles or after he uses it in long range. I feel like he must have a lot of aura to be able to do that or that his semblance doesn’t use much aura.
A way they could use aura is like with haki in one piece or heat from Yakuza. Push their own aura into an enemy to damage them from the inside out.
Jaune has the most aura out of anybody he'd benifit the most from a technique like that or any melee fighter for that matter.
In volume four when jaune was practicing in the forest whenever he swiped with his sword it sent a wave of wind , so maybe he was working on creating an aura arc.
Nice theory video but you forgot one Aura master, the one who tell Jaune he should try to extend his Aura : Vine. We don't see him doing crazy things with his Aura besides his Semblance but he may have other Aura techniques we haven't seen displayed.
Maybe he was only referring the Aura arc, but maybe he was implying Jaune could form an Aura conduit to be able to use his Semblance form afar and not only through contact.
Another use of Aura that Jaune may be able to get is using the healing factor of Aura to hurt Grimm or Grimm corrupted humans. He could be the alternative to Silver Eyes to defeat/cure Salem.

I really like this kind of video, with discussion of power systems and stuff. I've always felt that power systems are among the most important elements of world building in any setting which has them.
Incredible observations about Qrow. You really got me thinking about how he mastered offensive aura because he doesn't like using his semblance. Now think about this: he specifically said in S4 to team RNGR that his semblance comes in handy fighting enemies. And said to Clover in S7 that he "can't always control" his semblance, meaning he does have some active control over it, and presumably like you said that's in the immensely difficult exertion he goes to of having to focus it offensively. Sooooo possibly this means he is deliberately channelling his semblance into his offensive aura to repeatedly land critical hits which is why his punches REALLY hurt. Someone (I think it was you?) said that his and Clovers' semblances likely affected probability. So maybe he's getting in lucky punches (unlucky for his opponents) repeatedly and hitting along stress points and just where people are weakest. In addition to being super strong master of aura, his semblance and those rings could be boosting him even further.
If we ever get a character with a parasitism semblance they would have to be a master of using aura. Absorb others aura, use their semblances throw it back at them. Who knows what they would be capable of.
Parasite = eating Aura
Mimicry = copying Semblance

Jaune was told by vine he should "extend his aura". I believe this was a clue that they have plans for his aura amplification which could later on lead to more uses. Whether its for attack defense its been built. I know some will hate this but I believe his semblance could play a part in helping to revive the portion of pyrrha that resides within cinder. His semblance could help "awaken" her aura causing it to activate I think it would be good from a writing standpoint giving him an opportunity to make up for some of his mistakes in the past with Pyrrha
Vine telling Jaune to extend his aura was definitely part of what inspired this video. That is an interesting idea about Jaune amplifying the portion of Pyrrha's aura within Cinder to reawaken her, I like it!
@@PhoenixNight It could definitely happen cinder could be injured and Jaune chooses to help her with her aura like he did for weiss or while he's extending it she could get caught in its radius during a fight. It could also affect her grimm arm negatively as well. Either could be the catalyst to help awaken Pyrrha who we know probably resides within Cinder. Writing this is good because it gives Jaune real meaningful growth as a character and also helps him to face new challenges knowing Pyrrha is inside Cinder and how to deal with that.

However I've noticed one little thing that you missed. You mentioned that Qrow was the only one that was shown to make a sword slash (aura arc). In volume 2, when Blake was fighting Roman, she used that said slash to end the fight

In the official RWBY game (this one on Steam) Jaune's aura IS white and his semblence is boosting teammates - in first tier is YELLOW - +50% to damage but...
On tier two... You can choose one of three - RED +100% damage, BLUE +speed boost, GREEN heal/replenish aura bar (I've seen only one gameplay with other colors then red so I'm not sure about them). So yea... They planed this from the very beginning ;)
Jaune using "aura arc" has already been hinted at in volume four, when Ruby found him training and listening to the video from Pyrrha while everyone else was sleeping. When he swung his sword we can see what appears to be "aura arc" or what at least seems to be a "Lvl. 1" version of "aura arc" and that's what he is training to master without anyone seeing him do it.
I can just imagine John being fed up with Cinder fucking with him and just send 15 aura arcs at her dawnblade style.
Maybe Jaune can learn to use is Aura like firing waves from his hands like in the Witcher series or even better, going KABOOM with his Aura like Godzilla did against Ghidorah in Godzilla:King of the Monsters. Honestly if there is any indication for foreshadowing, its during his self training during season 4. It showed how strong his sword swings were without aura, so they actually might be hinting at him learning a aura arc in the future. Though personally I would prefer him to go full knighthood and learn a sort of aura armor. But that might be too much. If anything keeping to Bleach similarities here, I can see him going more towards Gin Ichimaru. Basically getting a longer sword or an aura lance of some kind. Basically getting the range attacks he very much lacks.
Correct me if i'm wrong but I remember Blake back in volume 2 sending out what looked like a purple aura strike when she was fighting Roman in the episode "No Brakes".

Just had a idea about how Dust loses properties as it leaves the atmosphere. What if it’s not the leaving the planet that’s causing this, but the speed. Could it be possible that at a certain speed, the property of dust actually begins to physically leave the substance, possibly leading to a releasing of its power once a high enough speed is reached. I was just imagining either a dust particle accelerator based weapon or if Ruby could reach such speed through training or Jaun. I mean we know nothings reached that level of speed yet logically cause I don’t think we have had something brake the sound barrier at least(I think, could be forgetting stuff), or have we had anything gain enough speed to come close to leaving the atmosphere. Just ideas on more theoretical dust application.

In Weiss's short, she uses fire dust to make a huge arc, killing the summon grimm. Maybe she used her aura to amplify that?

We do see the shock away aura thing another time round 1 vytal tournament ABRN had 1 women didn't have an obvious weapon just some strong thread used for maneuver ability she used an aura shockwave woth her fist to break the giant Ice shere that Weise made to hold her teammates and she did really well against Yang for hot having a direct combat weapon or armor. She's certainly good with her aura too

Okay it's aura and semblance. You knew you would be hearing from me. I'll say first. The new tidbit I took from this was Qrow enhancing his rings. I hadn't thought of that. Very cool.
So let me work down the line. I don't know for sure if Hazel's aura broke there. Though it should have. He was struck from behind. So his aura may have simply been down momentarily. He did indeed inject himself with more dust. So I'd like to think his semblance was still active at that moment.
Blake did actually use that skill or something like it against Roman on the train. Though it seems more like gravity dust is the color is anything to go by. I'd like to think time dilation while speeding up action also speeds up aura. Which would be how her aura released like that. Possibly amplified in some way.
Grow you've said all that needs to be said. He has superb control. The man even withstood Tyrian's poison overnight. I'd like to think his aura control had something to do with fighting it off so long til he tell asleep.
As for the big dog here. This is what I'm sorely hoping for. Jaune to regain his more offensive role. Since getting his semblance. He has been relegated to this support role. Even his upgrades are more for added defense and a gravity push on his shield to repel an enemy. He seems to have done nothing to his sword. Its my hope the extra enhancements Pietro spoke up will be an upgrade to his sword. Or using his great sword combo with the hard light extension and aura.
One thing I don't get that is not mentioned on the wiki is the fact Jaune has displayed the ability amplify the speed of aura regeneration. This is such a broken and underrated skill I see no one talking about. So long as he has minimal aura to work with. He can recharge his own. Even recall Miles mentioning as Jaune's semblance grows. He can use it at farther distances. Combine that with Vine mentioning him learning to project his aura out more. And then factor in "Mr. Muscles" and the amount of raw power he has displayed on multiple occasions with his swing alone. If he applied aura to that swing. You better believe it will be a getsuga tensho. Especially if amps the aura as he swings. Adam clearly drew a lot of inspiration from Ichigo in terms of skills and maybe even mask. From Jaune we may see destructive power on par with Adam or even greater.
Finally someone sees the potentially broken abilities some of these characters (jaune mainly) have if we go on the basis of what we know of aura. I wonder if any abilities from Grimm eclipse will be confirmed in the series.
Neos Ragnar Funnily enough. If you think about it. eclipse actually revealed Jaune's semblance before the series did. Since special amplified all his skills. So that Very well could be the case. It's not crazy to think that some of the skills they use there were probably ideas thrown around by CRWBY.
Glad to see your input here! I think Jaune already should already be able to use his greatsword with the hard light extension, we just haven't seen it yet. Might be saved for a big scene in Volume 8. For Jaune's destructive power, I think combing the Relic under Shade academy, the Sword of destruction, with Jaune's aura capabilities, in particular an aura arc, would be amazing to see near the end of the series
@@PhoenixNight This could lead to some interesting developments with his greatsword form as now it has dust and therefore could lead to new capabilities be it offensive or defensive. Really would like to see some of that purple dust being used in the greatsword form as it could be used in both ways.
With Jaune's semblance, if aura transfer is possible, how about the reverse? something like aura absorption would be epic to see.

Something I want to see as a use for aura is a form of full body control; such as forcing specific organs in the body to go into overdrive or say someone has really long hair (hair like Henry from black clover) they could use aura to manipulate it like a tail or an extra arm. Also, something that would be nice to see some kind of pulse type technique certain people could use to damage people through their aura defense or to stun/paralysis them, and say a healer were to use the pulse technique to pinpoint internal damage without equipment in emergencies or to perform a kind of extremely effective massage/acupuncture to ease pain and speed up their natural healing.
Those are some great ideas! Hopefully we encounter some characters who have been motivated to train their aura in those abilities because they sound really plausible.
In the episode No Brakes Blake used an aura arc without Weiss's lightning glyph. Plus, Jauns already created sorta an aura arc in V4 when he watched Pyrrhas video to train. Its just slight, not a real aura arc, but you should definitely watch more closely..

Re: Hazel and the Lancer, I think that surprise attacks can inherently get past aura defenses even if a person's aura is at full capacity. When Adam killed Sienna Kahn, her aura wasn't broken, but she wasn't expecting the attack. Add to this what Oscar was told in Volume 5 about it taking concentration at first to activate one's aura but then it becoming second nature, and I think surprise attacks are just a natural way of bypassing a fully charged aura. Even if it takes almost no conscious thought, it still takes some amount of conscious thought to do so, and an attack that is quick enough and powerful enough can get through before one has had a chance to react. All that said, it wouldn't surprise me if Hazel's aura were strong enough to actually do what you're describing.
Next volume would be the perfect moment perhaps relying on his sword he neglected aura and now without a sword its assumed he willl get the sword relic of destruction but until then what if he trains where he is now no spoliers he could use like a twig or something and focus his aura into it making it hard and maybe even extending it to make the twig sharp and will be followed up with the aura arc technique possibly when and if he gets the sword of destruction which could very well boost the aura he focuses into the sword because relic of destruction on top of the aura boost from jaunes semblence which makes me wonder he should be able to boost magic and maybe he can boost other relics.

Video idea for a theory. Seeing how the headmasters of the non-beacon academies are inspired by the companions of the wizard of oz story, (the cowardly lion leonardo and pragmatic yet heartless tin man general ironwood) how will the brainless character trait of the scarecrow headmaster of shade academy present itself?
Well I herd a theory back when volume 4 was airing that the headmasters were essentially the inverse of their origin characters Leo having courage a long time ago but the threat of salem made him a coward. In vol 7 Ironwood semed to start out as trusting and more compassionate than we've ever seen him on screen, but at the end of the volume he seems to have lost that due to Salem's threat (Effectively losing his "heart" or ability to feel). Lastly is the scarecrow, someone who wants a brain/inteligence. Honestly when I hear that all that comes to mind is Qrow and Tyrian vs Clover in volume 7 (Doing something unbelievably stupid when you should know better, but circumstances leading him to do it) Maybe the Shade headmaster would be in the same vane as that?

@10:53 we did see Blake doing this one more time though. in her rematch against Roman Torchwick she did use the "aura slash" once more when Roman was stuck in the earth or ice double she created with her semblance and Weiss' ammo cartridge that she handed to Blake

Yatsuhashi also broke the ground at the end of volume 2 and fox did some kind of attack that blew op an ursa in that same part that was reminiscent of how Ren did it to the snake. Neither have a semblance for that, so it must be aura. It kinda puts the qrow claims in perspective, making those feats seem more like second year academy abilities than mastery.
My OC for RWBY eventually gains an ability called Prevasion which he uses his Aura to become pretty much untouchable for a moment
And he has a great healing capability thanks to Aura Mastery
His (my OC) Aura color is Blue
So an Ability I think Aura could have is Prevasion which is basicly just making most attacks go through a person though this technique may take a massive amount of ones Aura to do so that would be a down side of using the technique
So his semblance is the same as Tock's
@@Stark-Raving yes, well partially as he has to have grown more using his semblance to fully utilize Prevasion his main ability his Semblance has is essentially him becoming a bolt of electricity kind of like Ruby's Petalburst but with enough practice he can actually have his body become unable to be hit for a moment but if he uses that ability to much his Aura would break more easily
