I worked at Whole Foods for 3 months, and one subject not touched on here though, and was the biggest shock to me...was the sheer amount of food thrown out on a daily basis. Not donated...just thrown into the trash. I can't even put into words how much perfectly good food was straight up thrown out. The recycling bins? There for show. That was thrown out too. The "organic" waste bins...for compost and such? Thrown out as well. Does your Whole Foods have a coffee bar? Think you're tipping your barista through the "tip jar" on the counter? No, that goes in their own coffers..."donated" to a charity they own, and written off for tax credit.
This is something I like about Everybody's in Fairfield, Iowa. Organic food doesn't have a long shelf life, so if you go in at their early hours, they have a table by the carts with all the day old pastries and other stuff about to spoil. Last time I lived there I had a roommate who he and his sister used to be bee keepers. Kept coming back with a trash bag full. I once are about half a chocolate fruit cake that was only a couple days old before noticing it was molded. So, do have to examine it before eating, especially since chocolate fruit cake is dark, so not that easy to see.

It's a branch of the Delhaize group. Their stores in Romania are called Mega Image and basically use the same lion icon and work the same way as Food Lion, only that they're called something else.
In Indonesia, Food Lion is called Super Indo

Trader Joe’s treats their employees VERY well, in terms of pay, promotions and full benefits. They are really concerned with vacation time (giving enough of it), breaks, mental health care and making sure everyone feels super supported and happy. Employees start out at at LEAST 3-4 dollars above minimum wage and every time I’ve been there every one seems almost too stoked. They also don’t blast “omg, we’re SUCH good people for selling organic healthy hipster food” BS all over the place, and it’s quality and WAY cheaper than Whole Foods

I remember this one time 2 summers ago I went with my great aunt to buy things for my cousin's birthday party and we stopped at whole foods and got some for of chocolate milk that said organic and vegan made with so milk. I work at Whole Foods. Want to know something kinda hysterical about this "it's only for the rich" thing? The stores accommodate the neighborhood they're in. In my store which is in a mall it's what you would expect. High ass prices. But if you go to Newark or Detroit it's cheaper. They raise the prices on rich people to help poor people get cheaper shit.

I don't live in a very wealthy area and yet for some reason there's a Whole Foods here. I only know 2 people that can afford to shop there and go figure, they're very wealthy. Lets not forget when they tried to create a market for rabbit meat by lying to consumers, failing to tell them that the rabbits used for meat at the same we keep as pets (many thought the rabbits were hunted wild rabbits) and the rabbits were kept is horrific inhumane conditions where dozens would die of heat stroke every day and survivors were slaughtered by having their legs broken and wrapped around a hook and then having their heads sawed off which took several seconds to complete.

Fatt Bisscutt highly doubt that since most fish tends to come from around the same place not to mention all the fish oil supplements failed and have over the amount of PCBs in each container.

Axis1247 I was being unclear on that so to clear things up I was suggesting that it still comes from the ocean or farmed and if it's farmed they would normally label it. But anyway the reason they still have PCBs is because in the ocean back in the 80s or 90s chemicals like PCBs were dropped into the ocean and those chemicals have still stayed around.

As a person who works at a Wawa and believes firmly in them as basically a religion, Wawas are actually the one thing that most people visiting the eastern coast of the US miss when they leave. Wawa's a gas station that makes better food than Subway ever could (no joke).
