    Clinchfield hopper catch was a gem. I actually grew up in Clinchfield country in east Tn where the KP sub runs from shelby, Ky to Erwin, TN.

    The gold standard in railfanning, simply excellent. I am not an expert on the circus train, but I thought I remembered hearing it usually came in on the Vitis sub down to the A-Line and then was stored in Uceta, if so, was there a specific reason for keeping this S-Line all the way?

    Great work Danny. The crew change idea is very good for everyone. The CN has been practicing that move for quite a while. I believe since the last contract agreement between the CN and it's Conductors and Engineers. Another effort to bring everyone home. I am sure it saves the railroad quite a bit of money in hotel costs.

    Can you really tell the horn model from that quick video?
    CSX swaps horns out all the time when they fail. They don't care about matching engine models with horn models. I've seen plenty of Dash-8's with Leslie 3 Chime horns.

    I'm guessing that it was a CSXT engine gotten in the Conrail merger.

    Very sorry to hear about your dad. I wish I'd have known him. He always had a bright tone in his voice on the radio. Trading shots with the yardmaster, making fun of other crews.
    I remember, after your dad had done some task or one kind or another, apparently in his own way, another worker asking him what railroad he came from: SEABOARD AIRLINE, buddy!! SEABOARD AIRLINE!!! he responded. Very funny.

    Was the Conrail loco at 2:47 owned by CSX, or is it part of Conrail Shared Assets Operations?

    • @JessicaKasumi1990
      @JessicaKasumi1990 Před 6 lety

      ww32 Conrail Shared Assets Operations is owned by CSX and Norfolk Southern. All equipment is from CSX, or NS. CSAO is based in Detroit, New Jersey and around Philadelphia. They also work on the Northeast Corridor between Philadelphia and New York. And the Dash 8-40CW is pure CSX. Conrail doesn't own equipment like locomotives anymore. Most Conrail units went to CSX or NS after the June 1st, 1999 breakup.
