    Here is a crazy idea! I have rescued guinea pigs. I make fleece pads for their cages, and inside I put U-Haul. It is the grey flannel-like stuff that furniture movers use to wrap your furniture. It is very absorbent, and pretty cheap. I think I will use my crumb quilting piece, and use some U-Haul inside, for a dish mat! It is thicker than batting, but my machine handles it okay.

    Hello, first of all many greetings from Berlin Germany. This dry mat is very nice , but I can't get this sew in here. What else could I use ? You sew the first side around, but when you sew the backside , are 2 seams at the first side ? I can't recognise it and...I'm beginner. And last question for now, since those mats are not common here, how do you clean/ wash them ? Somewhen it will be necessary. I would be very happy, if you understand, what I mean. English is not my mother tongue. I'd love so much to surprise my mom for Xmas. Thank you in advance💞💐

      Cool idea! The foam for this product does a really good job of absorbing the water if you are worried that it will make a mess. - Yajaira

    What's a good jelly roll to use with a single male who needs this? Wondering what's out there other than bears, fishing & sports?

    Ironing on wool at on top of cutting mat is NOT GOOD. I WARPED my cutting mat doing that.

      @@ShabbyFabrics , that was my question. I looked at most of your videos, and you just answer questions with a heart. So how come you don’t answer pertinent questions that relate to the project ? If you can’t answer them, I’ll go elsewhere for my answers.

      @@ShabbyFabrics , another viewer asked if the mat was good for absorbing water . I want to know if it does, will it attract mold if not dried properly ? Since the package directions says not to put heat on it in the drier, so I assume we have to hang it dry. Can we squeeze it dry and will the form take its shape again ? Can we re-iron the thing dry or is that a one-time deal ?

    • @ShabbyFabrics
      @ShabbyFabrics  Před rokem

      @@lendouma3224 While this mat does absorb water, you will need to air dry it after use. We would most definitely recommend air drying completely when done using. You can squeeze this, and if you feel like you need to reshape it, definitely iron it. Hope this helps! -Michelle

    Really cute but I'm sorry, it's a little extreme to try to coordinate your drying mat with your Christmas dishes lol

    Nice idea for a sewing project. My next comment is not in any way intended to be negative or hateful. But, your hair is very distracting. It is hard at times to see your face with wispy hair hanging. It looks unkempt and sloppy. Perhaps pull it up into a pony, bun or at the very least move the long hair to behind your shoulders. You do a lovely job of demonstrating but the hair is dated and is not becoming to your beautiful personality. Please don't take offense, none is intended.
