- Yesterday, ArenaNet finally gave us our first look at End of Dragons, the next expansion for Guild Wars 2. These are my (very positive) thoughts!

Fishing just kinda perfectly suits the way I like to play the game these days: super chill, nothing stressful or needing large uninterrupted blocks of time.
but imagine more bot farms xD
I too love the lege weapon theme, but I do hope that the acquisition will be a bit more exciting and engaging to balance out the less intensive art constraints.

GW2 reddit is never satisfied. Unless you make something perfect they would allways be extremely mad and say everything is trash. The complete opposite of other communites like FF14 where even when Devs fuck up and bring terrible things to the game, people still support them and are too fake positive. I wish people just reacted like normal people, not completly trashing on everything nor completly supporting bad decisions, but it never seems to happend.
Yeah most of the GW2 fans are just spoiled because we get update after update for free boss, raids, events the only thing we need to pay is for skins. My 2 best gw2 friends are such spoiled players and are talking about improvements that make no sense and everytime I talk to them how much content we get and they should be happy about it.
The reddit was really not negative at all apart from obvious disappointment with gen 3legendary weapons.

I'm so excitited!! And I'm really satisfied with what they gave us until now. Not to much spoilers but enough to speculate on our own.. And look at those map sneak peaks.. It's pure beauty! Can't wait to explore Cantha and everything else with the community 😍💖

Loved the first look! So hyped about fishing with the LaLa guild!
A little surprised you loved this reveal so much, especially with such minor actually gameplay shown (mostly from the single Elite Specialization reveal). After the, IMO, disastrous IBS release and ANets overall hit-or-miss with content in general...I'm very skeptical of EoD. I also don't buy the whole "It's too early to show much"...it's release is only ~ 6 months away. That's very close in development terms.
Now, I'm not expecting everything to be revealed, I understand stretching out the hype up until actual launch...but what little they did show us was underwhelming. Especially considering how they really need to prove that they've learned/grown (again, IMO. Some people probably don't feel the same way).

Still hopefull for a housing system even though they didn't anounce/show it.
They already have a system , that they can improve or create instanced like maps that we could have like neighourhoods , where we'd build our homes and create furtnitures with scribe to make it more usefull (ofc they will put items in the Gem Store , it's natural) .
I know we have Guild Halls to customize and make however we want... but that system (GH) feels too tedious and a big waste of resources.

Interesting idea for the name of the new necro spec as both apothecary and plague doctor are stat sets already. Will be interesting to find out

Honestly, I'd probably have preferred new legendaries as time progresses rather than a bunch of similar-looking ones at once.
Feels more like a set of skins than _legendary_ weapons.
The websites says _legendary sets_ though, so perhaps we'll get other ones too.

Pretty sure they said on the stream that the precursor from the new meta achievement thingy is specifically for the Aurene set though.
I suppose we'll get more info as time goes by.

Hey Lara! Do you think you would ever be interested in making some type of updated beginners guide for players who either haven't played GW2 before, or (as in my case) have only played a limited amount a few years ago and am interested in giving it another shot? If not, are there any good content creators you would recommend for that type of thing?
Also, your enthusiasm is great in a modern gaming landscape where everyone just wants to be angry and negative about everything.
It grows on you.echovald and Jade sea seem to lack quite a bit of story. You just zoom past them.
The "Apothecary" would share its name with a stat type too...but then again Anet did this with berserker.
Plaguedoctor is a stat set too.

Aurene weapons will feel more "legendary" to me if they can be dyed. She is the prismatic dragon after all.
Also as soon as I heard that instruments can be played on skiffs, I imagined you and the music guild playing on a skiff in the middle of an atmospheric pond at dawn/night with fireflies and the calm sounds of a nearby waterfall.
I was hyped for some sort of Bard elite spec for Mesmer, got even more hyped when I heard the names "Virtuoso" and blade"songs", but got disappointed when I realized all new weapon spells, profession skills, and utility skills involve phantasmal daggers. Virtuoso does not quench my thirst for a music-themed elite spec. D: Wild idea: maybe engineer with warhorn will use Dredge sound tech, and that might be some sort of weird, steam-punk bard.
I, too, loved the reveals! But yes, the new legendaries did not fully got me. Not because of their appearance, but mainly because i have no legendaries yet, and aiming first to get the WvW trinkets, but also because my main is necro too and well... you got the idea X3...!!)
I expect that turtle to have a skin of full charr armor or il be dissapointed
When the new trailer ends, Andrew says something along the lines of "that mysterious Asura standing next to Ankka on the airship", so I don't think that's Mai Trin (even though she is in the expansion).
Can't Wait!
I'll probably go for one of the gen3 legendries because I do dislike the fact that they are all the same. Be that as it may, this was the only thing I disliked, I am now more hyped for EoD

most mmo's don't have housing. WoW doesn't have it, FF14 doesn't have it for 99% of the players, only a small few are able to have houses. ESO is the only big one that actually has something.
If they added housing, it must be in a guild hall I think:)

But I'm curious about one thing. I've seen alot of hype around that new asura and I don't really understand why. I feel like I'm either a boring person who doesn't appreciate things or I'm missing something. To me it just looks like any asura but with earrings. Earrings are cool but if that is all to be hype about then I would be more hype for earrings as part of new character customisation so we can have them ourselves, not the character really.
Help me out here. I'm not trying to ruin hype for everyone else. I just want to see what I'm missing here. xD
I think she is an Inquest flying with Aetherblades - those guys are not to be trusted, but they will bring good things to complicate the story. -I guess it's Ry Chase's character, forgot the name- No, I meant Ankka - Sarah Sokolovic's character.
I think she is the stand-in for our player characters.
Like in all the PoF and LS4 Trailers we did see this male elonian and in all the IBS Trailers we did see the female norn.
@@zcar6557 It would be true, if there wasn't a moment in the trailer where Anja (Saga's represenation) fights together with Canthan person right next to her.
Also Anja has some extra new abilities if you look closely, hinting towards new Guardian specialization. :)

As a Necro Main I sceamed "Witchhunter Necro!" when I saw the picture and I realy dont want some alchemist because the engi is so close to be an alchemist.
Kind of hoping it’s something like Soul Collector and that the necro tease is holding a jar of souls!

Terrible trailer for someone like me. My hype is now effectively zero. That trailer told me nothing I wanted to know about the expansion. I had high hopes for this expansion.. I hope further system reveals will hype me up.
