    You make it look easy. Please warn people not to leave the tape on until the caulking dries. I did this and when I pulled it off half the caulking came with it leaving me with a mess.

    Thank you. Your video helped me repair the caulk behind my kitchen sink, the most visible place in the kitchen. This was my first attempt ever and it turned out great. Scraping out the old caulk and the taping with painters tape was very important. Note that he removes the tape immediately. I did this and it looks great.

    Can you use that caulk over other grout that has become discoloured. Or is it best to use bleach and a scrub brush on those areas

    • @OurHaydenHome

    I'm not sure I get the terminology it's either crowd or caulking the line between the tub and the tile is caulking should never be grout

    What do you do if your removing very old very hard caulk from tile corner? It won’t cut and trying to chisel it seems like it could break the tile. Thanks

    • @OurHaydenHome

      We do recommend removing existing grout/caulking in areas that are cracked. If there are areas that are not cracked, you can certainly leave those in place and monitor. Thank you for your question, Ryan!

  • @mattattack426

    If a structure has significant weather seal issues (major draft) and other cracks, would excess moisture indoors contribute to caulk cracking? In some areas in my rental house, the cabinets look as if they may fall off the wall! This video was easy to follow for the layman, like myself! Thanks for the informative tips, my rental needs lots of caulking in every place imaginable! - side note on the production side of your video. I watched with headphones and while the background music is nice and provides a professional experience, the “main volume” needs adjusting. For me, it would accelerate to high decibels while you were not speaking, but dramatically shift when you began to speak again. Not a big deal, just a side note!

    • @lisabigon1426
      @lisabigon1426 Před 2 lety

      The terminology used is a little confusing to me. Our installer used grout to finish in the inside of our tub tiles. It almost immediately started cracking and coming out. After researching I thought that a silicone-type of caulking should have been used. So I want to take out the old stuff and replace it with the right product. Which product do I use?

  • @arlenmargolin1650
    @arlenmargolin1650 Před 3 lety

    Actually I just saw some of the video and I figured out why everybody's confused that stuff that you were showing in your video was grout and again that stuff's never supposed to be grout tile men do it all the time it's the lazy way out for tile man to end his job but if he's good he will pull out a expensive material called silicone and he will apply it but usually at the end of a tile job he's very tired and he wants to go home and he can fake anyone out with grouting that last line and and he does and that's what happened to you
