- How to Fix Cracked Grout: Tile Coach Episode 20 . Cracked grout is a common issue and this video shows how to fix it. There are many reasons why grout cracks, but it is basically caused from movement between the two surfaces the grout is between. Common areas are floor to wall transitions, countertop to wall transitions, and tile to wood transitions. Cracked grout can also be a sign that a loose tile is in need of repair. In that instance, it is best to remove and replace the loose tile, as this method will not fix that issue.

Video is still relevant in 2024. Thanks for a good demo.
Great video. Going to tackle this myself! And shocking, I am the wife doing the work not needing to ask my husband to accomplish this task... lots of us wee women are fully capable ;)
I cringed when he said it, but I get it, he was fumbling for words, it happens. Also, I see what you're implying and I agree, thanks to the internet, most able-bodied adults could reasonably tackle this and do it correctly. That said, in my house the load is usually shared equally, in both the physical and emotional aspects. Physical load, includes things like chores, prepping, security. From those, specific jobs are reserved for me, because I like to do them, e.g., construction, taxes, and yard work. There's also some of my tasks I don't like, such as laundry, vacuuming, and mopping; I'll admit, I've looked up "How-to" for all those even though I hate them, but still do it because we're a team. We never complain, gloat, or rub it in their face when one picks up the slack of the other.
Same over here! #girlscantoo 😊
Oh please stfu with your liberal feminist bs it was just a little harmless comment.

Awesome work - I'm a 61yo woman and I could do this without calling anyone in to do it! Thanks for the help!!
Glad I bumped into your channel. Clear, easy & informative,. I'm sure it's the same process for bathroom grout. Basically, scrape off old, thoroughly clean & dry, squish in caulk, squish again with finger (or plastic caulk tool) & clean with damp sponge. I can do this. Be well.
thank you so much! It has been my biggest headache tried to fix the cracking grout! The video is SO useful!!

Thanks. Very helpful.
Great video! Can I use this type of grout caulk in between tiles that have lost their grout?
Thanks bro heading to Home Depot now
Thank you so much for this info!!! Can you recommend a brand of caulk from Lowe’s or home depo that is comparable?
Thanks for this video. This is a project I wanted to tackle but was afraid I would have to mix grout, which I have never done. This makes the project seem a lot more doable. Will the grout in the tube match the texture of the cement grout that is intact?
My exact problem. Thanks!
Thanks so much! just what i needed for my shower
Great!
My tub grout is cracked and ugly and I didn't know this caulk was available...I think I can even tackle this! Thx!
Thank you for the video. What would you recommend for hairline grout cracks? This method would probably be too wide for my job. I have a very fine hairline crack along the edges of the base of the tile shower floor.
Very nice! Thanks for this! :)
Thank you!! Got to RE do my lower shower
Thanks for the video! Question: We need to repair some maintenance joints in our master shower. We have a leftover bag of dry grout the contractor used to install nine years ago. It appears to be in good condition. Can we use it to repair the grout since we know it will match?
Super helpful. Thank you
Hi. Great video! DIYer. I have a "maintenance joint" between my acrylic alcove bathtub to tile surround (used by 2 adults to shower). The grout is starting to crack at the joint. I was advised not to use silicone caulk over the existing grout because the caulk does not stick to the grout and doing so would promote mold growth underneath the silicone grout. Is "silicone" caulk different from "siliconized acrylic" caulk mentioned in your video? Can I use the siliconized acrylic grout over the existing grout at the joint (not taking all the grout out of the joint since there isn't a lot of loose grout)? Thank you!
I am working in a very small installation. Could I use this instead of grout on all the lines as a precaution for any future settling?
Awesome...Thank you!
