Royal Enfield Bullet Alternator Temporary Fix

  • Here's a roadside fix if your alternator has stopped charging your battery, but your headlight still works when the bike is running. If this happens to you, you can switch the orange and red headlight wires with the red and black regulator wires, and the electricity intended for the headlight will go to your charging system. In this case, it's best to just get a new alternator stator, but if you need to use the bike while you wait for a new alternator stator to arrive, this fix will get you home and keep you on the road. Be careful because your headlight won't work if you do this. Some Royal Enfileld Bullets have different alternator wiring. My Royal Enfield Bullet is a 2001 model in the USA.

    Hi i used to get spark and was having carburetor issues. Now that i took apart and cleaned carburetor am no longer getting spark. I need some help figuring out what’s the issue. I have a new spark plug and coil. Primary and secondary coil resistance seem fine 3.3 ohms primary and 8.17kohm on secondary. What should I do? I wish i could call someone like you to talk me through some troubleshooting as I dont know any mechanics who know this bike well nearby.

    hello. old bullet model hah an emergency start . is it possible to add one to these new alternator? if so how should we modify the wiring diagram.

    • @hoohoohoblin
      @hoohoohoblin  Před 7 lety

      You should only do this in an emergency situation. Ordinarily it should be fine with standard wiring.

    I have 2000 model standard 350CC,head light working sometimes battery not charging,
    Regulator installed new,what problem ?

    • @hoohoohoblin
      @hoohoohoblin  Před 6 lety

      Sounds like the wire going to the battery is bad. The headlight is wired directly to the alternator, so it will work when the engine is running, and a separate wire goes to charge the battery.

    I cleaned opened my carburetor to change accelerator cable. Now when I try to turn on the bike I see smoke and flame from the silencer and also it is very difficult to start. At times bike turns on fine. What could be wrong ? ( RE Electra )

      Is there anything wrong with the carburetor or any electrical problem ?

    • @hoohoohoblin
      @hoohoohoblin  Před 9 lety

      It sounds like it is way too rich maybe the needle valve in the carb is stuck open.

      ***** I now figured out that the problem occurs when I turn OFF the fuel and drive for a few meters. If fuel is in ON position always the engine runs fine.

    i recently bought a 1968 model and see only 3 wires coming from the alternator out of which two are connected together. the bike runs on 12v as I see the bulbs are rated as 12v. I can switch on the headlight without starting the vehicle. Can you help me with wiring diagram or reference to the wiring diagram. I am planning to reconstruct it as I see a lot of open ended wires and old damaged wires

    • @hoohoohoblin
      @hoohoohoblin  Před 5 lety

      It must be a problem with the regulator rectifier. You could try replacing it with a different one.
