  • In this video we continue our trip along the River Avon, the next leg of our travels from the river's source to its end in Tewkesbury. We return to the area of our last video and our first stop is in the town of Rugby. A town that has amazing links to a huge variety of famous people through history. We then continue our journey, finally getting to see and cross the river, watching how it develops from the tiny stream at its source in Naseby.

The design on what looked like a bent needle is a stylised jet engine. I wonder if the needle part is representing flying through the eye of a needle. No the other straight on. Oh and the other right(left) too. Take care stay safe.

Hi there. You prompted me to do a bit more research and you are right. It is based on a needle with the relief representing a jet engine. The sculpture of Frank Whittle as a visionary is based on a painting by Rod Lovesey. Thank you for watching. Stay safe and enjoy your travels.👍😀
