C8 owner here, in this day and age you would think by now there would be no problems with transmissions, how can gm after all these years still not have this issue settled . I never had any transmission issue with any of all my foreign made cars, and I have had probably 15 cars foreign made. Not one transmission issue. Now it makes me wonder if i still want to purchase a zr1.

GM is notorious for having transmission issues been that way for a long time.
Across all there models. Why can’t they figure it out!
@@HAULUUZ because they don't care enough to do something about it. That's just a fact. And it's not only GM, fords quality has gone in the dirt. I saw a CZcams video where a guy bought a brand new raptor and the seats are coming apart at the stitching! They kept his truck for 5 months!! Then it had engine issues! The AC had problems, on a brand new raptor!! And they took 5 months to fix it all because they said Ford had parts issues!
I would buy a "Thanks Tadge" cap, if you ever offered them for sale. Thank you for a great video, as usual!

Rick, Chuck so glad you two hand out important info on the C8. I wanted those low brake dust emitting brake pads, but when Chuck said you could blow your warranty I was done. Doesn't GM make a low dust emitting pad? I have Z51 suspension plus mag-ride. I can wash my wheels on Friday, and by Sunday they need washing again. Need Help

If my car falls in this, the dealership is giving me one off the lot. My car will sit inside the showroom locked, until the day the transmission shows up .

Gotta love the garage sounds guys…makes it real! Reminds me of my Matchbox service garage for my Hot Wheels and Matchbox cars I received for Christmas back in the 80’s! I played with corvettes then…now I’m driving my own (but I wouldn’t mind playing cars again). Great show guys!
Why doesn’t Chevy lube the cable with graphite for the lock out cable?
I thought the 2 liters were no longer required because they redesigned the transmission case.

I live in Ireland and have RHD C8 which I bought in the UK.
The dealer is asking for $1300 for the first service at 7000mls. I was always under the impression that the first service was free. Is there a GM bulletin that states this?
This was a great episode and a terrific tribute to Tadge. Tadge created a great piece of machinery. He deserves a well deserved vacation (retirement).

I have a 2022 stingray z51 the dealership told me not to add the 2 additional quarts its only for track use but i don't track it. Is that true not to add the 2 quarts?

@@nikosky4028 Yes, I have a '22 as well and added the 2 extra quarts and I don't track it. More fluid will dissipate more heat and maintain its viscosity longer. That is why its needed for track use but spirited driving can be similar so less heat and more viscosity will make the trans last longer. I mean if your literally driving the speed limit all of the time and not getting on it then there's no need but still wouldn't hurt.

Out of the 2024 C8 owners manual:
Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT) Fluid
The transmission fluid and external canister
filter should be changed after every 24 hours
of track use. Change the fluid and external
canister filter as soon as possible if
prompted by the transmission fluid life
monitor that remaining fluid life is low.
With the transmission at factory fluid fill,
there is no additional fluid needed for track
usage. Any transmission level set or change
should be performed at your dealer.
