That B58 is no joke, no matter what it’s in. So strong, reliable too.
I think it's safe to say that the B58 motor is one of the best engines ever made. And the cars that are wrapped around it are blessed with insane speed
I wouldn’t say that… definitely a great engine but not an engine you hear about unless you own a BMW.

They did the roll from 32 mph. The hellcat is still going to be spinning like crazy at that speed.
not to mention had a bad driver he said it bogged so it obviously was in too high of a gear cuz it doesn't just "bog"
yeah there was no point for the Hellcat in this video, the Trackhawk is basically the same but this one was tuned and more powerful. good thing it kept falling so far back so it left the Trackhawk and 340i enough room on the track for the real race 😅

Lmao not surprising at all, an exhaust setup with a DP and intake manifold would’ve taken that trash hawk onna walk 😂.
Throw DAW new turbo, PI & e tune in the mix, and the track hawk would be in terrible.
Ported blower and e85 instead of 94 oct will give aroud 150-170 whp gain to trackhawk. Not to mention there’s bigger blowers for them. All in all it comes down to how much $ you spent on tuning. Oh and one more thing - supercharged engines suffer from heat soak badly especially when its hot and they start loosing power. Chiller system would solve this issue.

I watched at our local track a Jeep with same mods and E85 put down a 10.3 at 131 mph with full weight and all season tires. Those things are pretty insane
They launch so hard for such huge vehicles. There's a guy on youtube SavageM340i who is posting vids of his 340 with stock turbo (intake, downpipe, fuel pump and tune) doing mid 10's with a dragy and sub 3 second 0-60.

It’s mostly because they’re not supposed to be in this type of race. Which is why most times they only win roll races or races against another muscle car

2nd race 340i got that win
Used 340s can go for under 30 grand Canadian. With a little tuning & a couple bolt ones like down pipes and an upgraded fuel pump you can have a really nice AWD car that runs 10s for 35 to 40 grand after tuning.
Even on the used market the hellcat widebody & especially the track hawk, costs 3 times as much as the Bimmer. BMW has made some great cars but also a lot of unreliable lemons. The new B58 powered cars are very reliable. That's why BMW is now ranked 3rd behind Lexus and Toyota in overall brand reliability. They're so reliable now, they make cars for Toyota.

That’s one of my favourite parts of the ZF tuning in the Hawk, even stock, when you put it on the floor it drops into the right gear so fast. This one has obviously had a transmission tune as well, so even better.

For those that didn’t already know. Suspension travel at the rear in the drag races is quite relevant. The travel can work with the lsd if done correct

Insanely reliable stock, more than an N55 and our N55 is still running strong at 300,000 km.

You can get an used m340i for 45k, with less than 20kmiles. Spend another 5k on mods and you’ll be smoking stock cat and keeping up with tuned trackhawk with 50k is insane.
Trackhawk gets heat soaked and loses power.

@@user-um3fx2vk8r There are quite a lot of tuned B58 engine'd cars with 700+ bhp, some over 900bhp my friend, they are amazing engines. Some drift teams are running well over 1000bhp with the same engine.
With a limited slip diff, and torque limited by gear maps, you would be surprised just how well they put the power down !
My car has the same engine, in a 1 series (albeit running a lowly 455bhp/634nm). It's surprisingly good as regards traction :-))

That last shift on the second dig for the Trackhawk was its downfall. Not the shift itself, but the gear it went into was too tall and got him out of the power band and the Bimmer pulled away definitively from there. Awesome race!
