Congratulations on your new car! I ordered my MYP in Nov 2021. I couldn’t take delivery in March and rejected a VIN in June because the car came with summer tires. I’m going to get a VIN soon. Beware, We collected a new, Shanghai Model Y LR 23rd February 2022. Brilliant car, even better than our terrific (but lethal in rain spray - Tesla Tech are still working on a fix) ) Model 3LR of 2 years, except for .... the Hankook tyres that seem to have excessive compound Shore Hardness as a cheap way to meet the extra load rating requirement of the Model Y and have an an even further NVH inducing tread pattern that is similar to an HGV truck, crash on the road so hard, that deep bass, sound pressure waves reverberate throughout the cabin so harshly, that we get headaches from it. No parcel shelf provided either. Tesla Service, Nottingham say that "Yes, it is harsh to the ear but, it is a characteristic of the car so, there is nothing we are prepared to fix" We rejected the car via Tesla's UK finance partner, Black Horse, as is our right. Tesla told Black Horse the same. Over 2 months later, we can't drive the car without getting headaches. Black Horse are promising to get an automotive engineer to report on the vehicle but, have already admitted that as Tesla say they won't fix the problem, in all probability, Black Horse will just tell us "tough luck". I am a chartered Mechanical Engineer with over 45 years in the motor trade. I have had problems with new vehicles before but, never anything as outrageously bad as this.

Based on reports of others, it seems to require such changes as to tyres, suspension spring rates & shock absorbers, and also, additional sound deadening & door seal modification plus fitment of a parcel shelf, plus possibly more to effect any noticeable improvement, with no guarantee of total solution. This negates the Tesla warranty so, why pay £56k then, another say £4-5k+ in experimentation whilst negating the warranty?

If you just ordered, I think the MYP is a no brainer. For just $3k more you get wheels, speed, and a few trim pieces. Plus, the price just dropped another $3k yesterday. White or black interior is a personal preference. I love the both, but the white brightens up the interior more.

Great Car! Very informative, thank you!! My Model Y Performance arrives soon. Can you tell me what I need to do for home/garage charging? Do I need to call an electrician and do any special setup or anything to get the car to charge at decent speeds in the garage?
Electricity is one of those things that can hurt/kill you if you don't know what you're doing. I'd definitely get someone who is familiar with electricity to help you set something up. I am about to post a video on charging speeds between level 1 and level 2. Spoiler alert, you'll need level 2. I have a 50amp plug that I use for my RV, its a NEMA 14-50. Your Tesla charger can get accept and adapter to run on that type of plug. The adapter is $45 so most of your cost will be in the plug and wiring from your breaker box. Again, I'd get a professional out to take a look. Depending on your location and length of wire you'll need, I wouldn't expect the cost to be over $500 to set it up.

no 4680s. Peformance was a quicker delivery( in the beginning I didn't plan to wait so long). Also, by the time you add better looking wheels to the LR you aren't too far away in price, at least not when I ordered. I actually drove a LR and Perf. in the same day. The LR was plenty fast enough.

After owning for a while I did notice that the rear hatch was flush on each side. Also notice the same with the hood(frunk). No interior issues though.

Yes, it's FSD capable. If I ever want it I'll do the subscription which is 199 per month. So, paying up front is like paying for 5 years worth of FSD. I've never had a car 5 years, lol.
@@royjohnson9043 it tells you in the on screen menu. I can't remember exactly which section off the top of my head; it maybe called software updates or something like that, but it's easy to find. Also, if you are just now taking delivery, it's pretty certain you have the AMD chip as well.

You can also open the glovebox by activating voice command by clicking the right button on the steering wheel. Just say “open glovebox”

range wasn't very good on that first trip. I was going about 80 on the interstate and had a really bad headwind. It was around 230.

They have delaerships for pickup and service, but you can't go and buy a car off of the lot; I tried, they have to be ordered.

not really. I've heard some people say it's based on location, but I think most are coming with the all seasons now.

Has charger, I don't think it has the 4680 batteries, but I am not sure how to tell.

MYLR or MYP are not made with 4680 yet. There is no news on when that will happen, so better not to count on it at least until end of the year.
